Hello S. Jackson. Having never been in the medical science field, I can't comment on the properties of cannabis, its capacity to relieve pain, or its after effects & dependency.

Though looking at the various Scriptures that supposedly indicate that cannabis is the plant being referred to, I have to conclude that that type of interpretation is made when one is desperately seeking an indication or confirmation that justifies their belief, & also in this case, its use.

In each instance of the word, the Hebrew is 'qaneh' (stalk, reed, cane) and if 'fragrance is added to it, then the word, 'bosem' is given, referring to 'spice, fragrance, sweet perfume'. No further information is given to us in the Bible on what sort of plant this could be; many have tried to guess, but come up empty. The best one that fits the bill, & by no means with any certainty, would be something like a lemon-grass, where it is reed-like, aromatic, with a multiple of uses. As you know, the Thais, Vietnamese, & others use this plant in their food & it also gives fragrance to tea, soaps & cosmetics. And Webmd indicates it helps to relieve symptoms of pain & swelling, reduce fever, assist with levels of blood sugar & cholesterol, etc. Remarkable plant.

So, maybe putting together, 'qaneh & bosem', can roughly give the word 'cannabis', but when looking at the Hebrew, the meaning shouldn't lead one to cannabis or any particular plant, simply because we have no more details about it or find any specific plant in today's botanical range resembling it.

I like Jonh 6;37 which says:- Everyone who The Father gives me will come to me, and he that comes to me, in no way shall I put him aside.

does God heal or not? i broke my arm not too long ago, and he healed my arm. if someone has surgery for appendix, chances are pretty good that he will recover.....gallbladder surgery etc. those things will heal, but not your cancer or your asthma or your blindness. i do not understand this, and it is creating problems in my faith.

what are promises of healing for? people say, oh he will be healed in the next life....well i hope so! we don't need the promises for the next life now do we? healing in Heaven is pretty much a given. and if the healing promises are not meant to work in this life then what about the others? are they for the next life too?

i want someone to tell me, are we to look to God for healing? or not waste our time? i will tell you, He has saved my life more times than i can tell you in many different ways. but then i was not asking. bc they just happened and had happy endings, but now i am asking him, for this is serious (well many of the others were as well) and suddenly

i don't trust that he will save me this time

ty for what it's worth to you, yours is my favorite site (maybe my answer is in my question. i am so confused)

    Continued from previous.

What should be asked and a great concern is what should salvation look like in a believer because many shall be deceived.

First of all shall you continue in sin?

    Paul answers that here in

    Romans 6:1-4.

We have been REGENERATED, REBORN, Given a new heart and ready to present Christ work through us. Titus 3:4-6.

We have eternal life now that can bare fruit such as faith ect...

This is what James is saying in James 2:17-18.

What James is saying is he's going to show that this gift is in him by his works. You see a Christian is saved UNTO good works. Ephesians 2:10.

When you are saved, you are baptized into Christ. It is he that works in you. Philippians 2:13.

    Also;

Philippians 1:6. Being confident of this very thing, THAT HE WHICH HATH BEGUN A GOOD WORK IN YOU WILL PERFORM IT UNTIL THE DAY OF JESUS CHRIST:

If you can loose your salvation all these scriptures means nothing.

    Here's another scripture often used.

John 14:15. "If ye love me, keep my commandments."

Well look at the next verse.

Vs 16. "And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, THAT HE MAY ABIDE WITH YOU FOR EVER; This Love is a fruit, so who is causing you to Love Christ? CHRIST SPIRIT, The HG.

Most people say you can loose your salvation also believes you can earn salvation which you can't do. And if they hold to that it's sad to say but the scripture says they have fallen from Grace. Galatians 5:4.

I believe this means comes up short.

Now if you come up short you will hear this. "And then will I profess unto them, I NEVER KNEW YOU: depart from me, ye that work iniquity." Matthew 7:23.

I never knew you can never be told to a believer because of this verse. "My sheep hear my voice,.... AND I KNOW THEM,.... and they follow me: John 10:27.

Now if a person have habitual sin in their life, Chances are you're not saved. And you can't loose what you don't have.

    I hope this helps.

    God bless.

A (supposed) pastor on here quoted several scriptures which he professed use the word kanabus (cannabis) Genesis, Jeremiah & others. I believe he was quoting from the Hebrew Bible, but none the less he is convinced that Cannabis was used by the very long lived Bible men; Moses, Noah and others presumably because of their use of Cannabis for health issues.

Is there any truth to this?

He stated his wife's severe pain was virtually eliminated after regular use of Cannabis.

In light of innumerable stores opening in the past few years in the USA that sell Cannabis oil what is the general consensus among clergy about Cannabis heading powers?

I would assent to the first commentary; with the exception perhaps of whether we are worthy of the Rapture when He comes. That is something we are told in Luke to pray earnestly for to be WORTHY to escape all that tis to come to pass and to stand before the Son of Man. Something which if our garments aren't white ( Eph. 5:27); then we may have to be martyred in the Tribulation to make our garments white ( Rev. 3:4 and Rev. 6:9-11).

This concept may seem to contradict other verses such as the one which states that we are not appointed to wrath in 1 Thess. 5:9 and I believe in Romans. The source of contention is what constitutes wrath; as certainly even the 1st seal opened by Christ Himself indicates God's judgment; although the unrestrained wrath isn't until the bowl judgments; or at least the 2nd half of the Tribulation. At the very least; however we need to consider Rev. 3:11 where we are admonished not to lose our reward; immediately following the verse stating those who would be kept from the hour of trial over the WHOLE earth; those from the Philadelphia church.

We also should heed to Christ stating that He would come on a day we don't expect. Clearly the time of the Tribulation can be marked on a timetable even specific lengths of judgments; but beforehand when people are living as though normal such as in the days of Noah ( Matt. 24:37) we need to be alert. All the events of today are foreshadowing what is the true birth pangs of the beeginning of the Tribulation with sword; famine and pestilence. For now; the gates of hell will not prevail against the church ( Matt. 16:18); but the saints will be overcome in the Tribulation ( Rev. 13:7 also see Daniel).

Whether we go through the fire at the Bema seat and or the Tribulation if not staying awake it pays to allow Him to chastise us now if needed. Be blessed (Renee means born again as you may know)

Certainly is interesting in light of Psalm 91 that you are reading; those are blessed assurances.

Christ (in flesh) is speaking to the disciples letting them know that they will be ok when he leaves ... that He will send a comforter (The Holy Spirit) as a guide for them to continue because He had fulfilled His destiny on earth & once He reached Heaven, He could no longer touch sin (or reside on earth. )
  • Terrye - In Reply on John 16 - 1 year ago
The comforter is the Holy Spirit...there are three different functions of the Godhead :The Father God, The Son Jesus Christ & the Holy Spirit that lives in us through Christ

God is the spiritual father of all & he created man (Adam & Eve) in His image meaning they are our Earthly first father & mother because they were the first ones to be created .

    Hi Renee.

In a way you we lost our salvation win Adam sinned. Romans 5:12. There is no way we can redeem ourselves. Isaiah 64:6. Without focusing on what the filthy rags are, have you ever tried cleaning with one? Our salvation is not in our hands. Our salvation and Sanctification is in the Lords hands.

If our lack of perfection couldn't achieve salvation, how is our lack of perfection going to keep salvation? or obtain it again if we lost it.

If you have ETERNAL LIFE you have it NOW.

John 10:28. And I give unto them eternal life; AND THEY SHALL NEVER PERISH, NEITHER SHALL ANY MAN PLUCK THEM OUT OF MY HAND.,

When we are saved we are sealed.

Ephesians 4:30. And grieve not the HOLY SPIRIT OF GOD, WHEREBY YE ARE SEALED UNTO THE DAY OF REDEMPTION.

It's God spirit in you, you may and will grieve him but he will never forsake you. Hebrews 13:5.

    God bless.

The first thing is to accept Christ in your heart & believe that He is Lord & confess with your lips & then let the transformation begin by studying His word & building a relationship with Him. This will allow you to die to self & begin to live for Christ through Christ -Noone knows whether you will be saved or not but Christ but you continue to allow Christ to transform you into the vessel that He created for His purpose & I think you will be on the right path. God bless you in your walk with CHRIST. i know the bible teaches to be blameless in all of our ways & put on Christ like character. Ask for forgiveness when you have wronged & be sincere because the Spirit knows when you are not sincere. Hope this helps.

    Deaf Vince,

I don't think that it is appropriate to print the words of this prayer to Mary. It is easy to find the words elsewhere, such as a local Catholic Church. I do not recommend that anyone pray to anyone dead or alive other than God the Father, His Son, Jesus, or the Holy Spirit. We can certainly ask others to pray for us, but we are to ask people alive on earth to pray for us, not those who have died.

Have you given consideration to Matthew 24:22 ?

And after you do consider that precedes Matthew 24:29 "Immediately after the tribulation of those days..."

    Mark 13:20 reads the same

Amen. We can only look to God & trust Him to administer true justice. Even though lives can be extinguished early, whether in the womb or mature age, accompanied with the grief & anger that may be our emotion, we must ultimately leave the matter entirely with our Great Judge & know that however weak or deficient the Law might be, none will escape His dealings.

And from my own musings on this, I wonder how our law-makers, justices, & governments will stand before God, when they have failed to exact the correct punishment for the crime. When a rapist, child-molester, or murderer, for example, is eventually set free, to then commit those crimes again against other innocent people, I ask, does not the govt remain equally culpable to severe punishment by God as He also gives to the unrepentant criminal? What then is the difference between such govts & their acts, & those done by criminals? But it is somehow more convenient to us to turn a blind eye to all this, usually preferring to consider the well-being of the criminal rather than devastating effects of the crime done to innocent people. Of course, I take into account the possibility that even the Law is fallible; some being incarcerated in prison who are innocent of criminal behavior. But God does all things well & we can take comfort in Him & not in man.

    Hi Renee,

This is a common question and that's even one of the FAQs: Link

My question is if it was impossible for Christians to lose salvation, then why did Jesus warn His followers so many times to avoid sin? They were literal Christians in that they literally followed Christ around and remember all the challenges and parables He spoke? Most involved being separate from those thrown into the fire. Jesus never said to relax and don't worry, and enjoy the world, including sin, because there's no consequences anymore. One would think that satan would say that. That doesn't mean people earn heaven by works, as it's only grace, but being allowed into heaven is conditional on being a legit follower of Christ, meaning actually doing what He says! James 1:22. And sadly most people won't make it, and probably many of them think they're 'good' and entitled to get in, and some may even call themselves Christians. Matthew 7:21-23

Also, if all you have to do to get to heaven is just believe, then why does the Bible say this? James 2:19. The fact is that satan is roaming to deceive people, even among Christians. Is he deceiving people into being 'gooder' than they need to be or is it more likely he is deceiving people into assuming rationalizing evil and assuming they're saved when they are actually disrespecting and spitting on Jesus? Hebrews 10:26. This should deeply scare some people and they should feel it in their heart if this applies to them.

Instead Jesus kept warning Christians and everyone over and over and challenging them. Paul also was frustrated with some of the Christians who were going astray and read what he wrote in his letters to them. Paul said to run the race to get the prize. He didn't say the race is already won, so go sin as much as you want. There's lots of scripture echoing this, but these are easy to find and there's lists in that page above too. Also the idea of being able to commit horrible sins as a Christian and still go to heaven contradicts scripture in blasphemy of the holy ghost, because it clearly says no one will be forgiven of that.

Revelation 2:10 "Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life."

2 Corinthians 5:10 - all will be judged, including Christians. Some like to assume they get to skip that as if they have a free pass . It clearly says ALL, not some, and not just non-Christians.

    Hebrews 10:26

Must be born AGAIN of water and Spirit. Jesus is

not talking about your nature birth/1st birth, but a second birth, which is spiritual, according to his will. The book of Acts is where the birth of New Testament/Jesus church begins, the Lord's disciples show how to do this, are first to obey this: Peter preached this first message to the Jews, later to all/non Jews.

Acts 2: 38: Repent, be baptized every one of you in

the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of your

sins(blood Jesus shed is applied/ Hebrews 9:22), and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

All books after Acts are written to the churches that are already born again, as Paul writes:

    Romans 6: 1 - 6. Actually all of chapter 6.

Matthew Mark Luke and John just four of many witness only say what they saw and heard . One thing happen four people see and hear from different angles .

It was Adam who called his wife Eve,,, And Adam called his wife's name Eve; because she was

the mother of all who should live after her.

All who should live after her because Through her womb came the Christ, and if you're not in Christ you're dead, spiritually.

it's an eternal life living thing.

Salvation is always there for you , but A believer can fall away so far that they don't make the first resurrection, whereby spending the 1000 Millennium on the wrong side of Heaven being ruled instead doing the ruling for Christ.

This would be the first death, and you would still get another chance to come back to God thru Christ before the Great White Throne Judgement, I pray you make the First!

Read scripture, find out what God wants from you,,,

Well spoken, Every day I see my imperfections even as I grow to his likeness, Even in my obedience I know that is not good enough. There is 2 natures that is there. Paul had a lot to say about this struggle in Romans 7.

    I concur with Street preacher.

John 14:26. But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

The Holyspirit always has been in the world, and his ministry requires much study to get a good understanding and it can be very fruitful.

I would like to know if I could lose my salvation? Because I've heard yes and no. But if the answer is yes, what would have to take place for me to lose my salvation? I just want to make sure I'm in good standing when Jesus calls us up.

    Mark 15:32 and Luke 3:29-43

Theses two scriptures seem to be pointing out a different picture. One verse states

both of the two crucified with CHRIST reviled him.

The other verse states one mocked him and the other called HIM LORD.

    Somebody please explain

    Hi Micha.

Absolutely! And I would take it one step further, We will wash one another's feet. "Humblely caring for one another in a way we be our brothers keeper as we walk through the filth of this world and pick up it's ways. We are to restore such a person as seen here in Galatians 6:1 Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.

    In response to this...

Steve - in Reply on Matthew 23:9

Yet many hold to trinity doctrines of the RCC that are part and parcel of the same false religion, you later said God is only father and you are correct as Jesus called him father and God. No man even Jesus never claimed the position of God... Jesus is born of God comes from God, Son of God and Mary. But not the LORD GOD. No man can claim this...and neither did Jesus.

    - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Steve, I know I'm late to the party, but I checked this thread and no one had responded to your statement here. I just didn't want to leave it unanswered...

    You stated as facts that:

    1) "Jesus never claimed the position of God."

    2) "[Jesus is] not the LORD GOD."

    3) And, finally, that Jesus did not claim to be LORD GOD.

You may view these as facts, but since this position is completely discomfited by the teachings of the Bible, I will have to cry "heresy" on this. (You sound like a Jehovah's Witness, so pardon me if I've mistaken you, but I will address your comments with that working assumption in mind.)

There are SO MANY WAYS the deity of Christ (as LORD GOD, Lord, God, and Jehovah) are confirmed by the Bible. Unfortunately, if you are using the NWT you will have look a bit further than your Bible to find the true nature of Jesus. The Watchtower translators have done a fair job of removing his true nature & glory from the detection of their proselytes. You'll want to take a look at the Greek Interlinear New Testament (published by the Watchtower, but currently out-of-print), to see how the English you are reading lines up with (or fails to line up with) the original Greek text they claim to be translating. It's a great tool for anyone to see how word-by-word translation works. Unfortunately, it also reveals that they have not produced a word-for-word translation of the Bible. John Chapter 1 is a good starting point. It's one of the clearest declarations of Jesus as Jehovah, but they've altered it.
