A (supposed) pastor on here quoted several scriptures which he professed use the word kanabus (cannabis) Genesis, Jeremiah & others. I believe he was quoting from the Hebrew Bible, but none the less he is convinced that Cannabis was used by the very long lived Bible men; Moses, Noah and others presumably because of their use of Cannabis for health issues.

Is there any truth to this?

He stated his wife's severe pain was virtually eliminated after regular use of Cannabis.

In light of innumerable stores opening in the past few years in the USA that sell Cannabis oil what is the general consensus among clergy about Cannabis heading powers?

    Dear Street preacher,

I'd like to ask about the notition that marijuana is made by God and cocaine isn't.

God made everything, including the box jellyfish, but that doesn't mean we should swim with them or eat them. We live on cursed ground. Thorns, poison plants, dangerous animals.

Marijuana is less processed than cocaine, but both are processed. I've seen videos of them using gasoline to break down the compounds, but cocaine also comes from a natural plant. How is one "good" and the other "bad"? Isn't it possible that both can be harmful, that both can kill?

A common repeated lie is that "no one has ever died from marijuana", despite it taking only seconds to search online and find articles about deaths as a direct result of it, like car crashes. It's similar to the lie that covid vaccines are "safe" despite more than 30,000 deaths reported just in the US. People freak out about a school shooting where 10-20 die, but 30,000 is somehow dismissed as being ok.

There was a deadly plane crash in Africa where all passengers died and the pilots tested positive for marijuana use. Maybe there would be more reports if people wanted reports and if it stayed in the system longer by the time the autopsy was conducted. Just like the corrupt pharma industry there are millions in lobbying and grants for studies showing positive effects, but probably zero money for showing its negative effects. People will then hear what they want to hear and proclaim that as truth. It's addictive and people become slaves to it as a stronghold and as even an idol above God. It also serves as a stepping stone into harder drugs. People's lives have been absolutely destroyed from drugs. So, I do not recommend it for anyone, especially a Christian. God bless.

    Dear "Facts about marijuana,"

Thanks for sharing this information. I have to admit that I am not very good at math. I am just wondering, you say you are 71, and that would mean that you were born around 1950? If that's the case, how could you have been a teenager in the 70's. Wouldn't you have been in your 20's? Just curious!

Revelation 18:23 And the light of a lamp shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of ... bridegroom and of ... bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorcery [witchcraft] were all the nations deceived."

Sorcery = PharmakEia in the verse

Definition: the use of medicine, drugs or spells

pharmakea (from pharmakeu, "administer drugs") - properly, drug-related sorcery, like the practice of magical-arts, etc.

    Marihoochie is a Psychedelic drug.

Hello S. Jackson. Having never been in the medical science field, I can't comment on the properties of cannabis, its capacity to relieve pain, or its after effects & dependency.

Though looking at the various Scriptures that supposedly indicate that cannabis is the plant being referred to, I have to conclude that that type of interpretation is made when one is desperately seeking an indication or confirmation that justifies their belief, & also in this case, its use.

In each instance of the word, the Hebrew is 'qaneh' (stalk, reed, cane) and if 'fragrance is added to it, then the word, 'bosem' is given, referring to 'spice, fragrance, sweet perfume'. No further information is given to us in the Bible on what sort of plant this could be; many have tried to guess, but come up empty. The best one that fits the bill, & by no means with any certainty, would be something like a lemon-grass, where it is reed-like, aromatic, with a multiple of uses. As you know, the Thais, Vietnamese, & others use this plant in their food & it also gives fragrance to tea, soaps & cosmetics. And Webmd indicates it helps to relieve symptoms of pain & swelling, reduce fever, assist with levels of blood sugar & cholesterol, etc. Remarkable plant.

So, maybe putting together, 'qaneh & bosem', can roughly give the word 'cannabis', but when looking at the Hebrew, the meaning shouldn't lead one to cannabis or any particular plant, simply because we have no more details about it or find any specific plant in today's botanical range resembling it.
