Hiya Jesse Gbu...But Jesse the book in the right hand of the Father has not been opened yet which contains the living words of God...The book contains living words which are living Spirits which are the Children of PROMISE..The H.G. Plural which is the multiplication of very God...An Israel of God...Thats what Jesus was talking bout when he said that which is born of the spirit is spirit...The words of that book are not paper and ink but Spirits and life...Living beings that are gona be born in us that hear his Words his seeds,..As Jesus is the bridegroom and the sower of that living word/ seeds Thus a baby Christ....Thus the woman in Rev 12 is the world and her Children ..baby Gods

....In the volume of the book it is written of me i delight to do thy will O God...What is Gods will, that Christ might be multiplied as the stars of heaven and putting the very kingdom of God in the hearts of humanity...But this requires seed living seeds. the very seeds of God...Thus the contents of the book ( the volume of the book ) are the living WORDS/seeds as Jesus said the good seeds are the Words of God.

.....We have not heard all the words of God ( Prophesy ) yet..Simply b/c the book has not been opened yet..Remember what God told DANIEL go thy way Daniel these Words are closed up and sealed till the time of the END....The Book has not been unsealed just yet...Thus the words of wonder that God spoke of are not here just yet. They All sang a new song after the book was opened....The Kingdom is not here just yet...When the woman births the Children ( the manchild that is gonna rule all nations ) of the kingdom then we can say the Kingdom is here....But 1 thing for sure is the Kingdom does not come till the woman births the Children of Promise,..The Prophetic living words of the Book,..Revelations 12 : 10 kjv...That Israel of God. y are they the Israel of God b/c they are the contents of the BOOK in the Fathers right hand....In the volume of the book it is written of me . David,

I assume you are responding to something I posted a while back, so I'll respond. My focus will be on Hebrews 1:1-2, "God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by His Son, whom He hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also He made the worlds;"

In the OT, God worked through progressive revelation. God manifested certain truths about Himself through certain stages of history, and through different people. And not just people, but different things, like the burning bush, or some of these other epiphanies where God revealed Himself through circumstances, and even animals, as far as that's concerned.

In Hebrews 1:1, the literal translation is not by the prophets, but in the prophets. The Greek text indicates that He wasn't just speaking through them. He was in the prophets. So He was in the prophets, speaking at various times, and in various ways, but has upon the last of the last days, spoken to us in Son. There is no word "his" in the original language.

What this is saying is that in the last days, the instrument that God uses is not the prophets, not various other ways like a burning bush, but He has upon the last segment of these last days spoken to us in a Son. So God has spoken to us. His last spokesperson, the last instrument that God used to minister to us, is His Son.

It's important to see the contrast between the superiority of Jesus Christ in comparison to the prophets. Those days are over. There are no more messages to various people.

Is it okay to prophecy today? I would say yes. But a NT prophet is someone who is a spokesperson for God, someone who takes the already written word of God and speaks His written word to others, nothing added to, or nothing taken away. There are no new prophecies today. God does not reveal "new prophecy" to anyone today. We already have the complete word of God and all prophecy has been given to us in His word.

    Craig,

Verse 27 literally tells us that we are the body of Christ, and members specifically, particularly, together. We're all individuals and we all make up the body of Christ. ....

....even those that prophesy...are part of the body...

Now as far as modern day prophets is concerned, there is no new prophecy. The bible is very clear that we are not to add or take away from the prophecy that is contained in the book. So if anyone comes along today claiming to be a prophet, right away a "red flag" should come up.

"WRONG".....In reply to this... I am a prophet... almost weekly ...i prophesy over people and see it come to fruition...

The nine gifts of the spirit are still in operation today...very much so... and your comment on adding to the book ... you better go back and read that again...

Deuteronomy 4 .1 Now therefore hearken, O Israel, ...... unto the statutes and unto the judgments,...... which I teach you, for to do them, that ye may live, and go in and possess the land which the LORD God of your fathers giveth you. 2.Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you. meaning the statutes and the judgments...

18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man "shall add unto these things," God shall add unto him the plagues "that are written in this book:"

19 and if any man shall take away from the words "of the book of this prophecy", God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written " in this book" ......

THE BOOK OF "REVELATIONS" ... NOT THE WHOLE BIBLE...

Because the bible has been translated several times throughout history

I love reading The Word of God! It is my only strong hold in life. The word of God teaches us every day how to live this life, it alone is pure and what we should be doing as Loving Christian people!

I care to the utmost that I read and learn from The Bible everyday. Because Our Father, Jesus Christ, and The Holy Spirit have many, many, lessons to teach us all. No person on earth ever knows everything but we can try to learn our ways in our on-going steps toward a life in Glory!

If I pray everyday and thank Him for life and look forward to His will being done I can think of nothing better to start the day!

But I can not hope to be his hand maid without His guidance by The Holy Spirit and study of his expectations for me as an earthly woman.

By His love and Grace we exist, surely we all wish to honor, obey Him and help to spread His Love to all through thought, word, and deeds to every one all day long.

Thank you Lord for your Precious Son Jesus! Who is an example of Your Love on this earth. thank you Lord, for the gift of Mary and Joseph. For her faithful accepting Your Plans for her without question or complaint ever. Thank you for sending Joseph to guard, guide, and protect Mary and the Baby Lord Jesus!

    Thank you Lord for everything!

    Craig,

Verse 27 literally tells us that we are the body of Christ, and members specifically, particularly, together. We're all individuals and we all make up the body of Christ.

Now as far as modern day prophets is concerned, there is no new prophecy. The bible is very clear that we are not to add or take away from the prophecy that is contained in the book. So if anyone comes along today claiming to be a prophet, right away a "red flag" should come up.

Verse 28 says that God hath set some in the church, and notice these three: First apostles, secondly prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.

So Paul is presenting two groups. One is for growth, and the other group is called "sign" gifts. First of all, the top priority in the body of Christ are apostles, secondly prophets, and thirdly teachers. But that does not mean that we are to have apostles and prophets in the church today.

There are no more apostles today. Now the word prophecy means to speak forth the word of God. So can a person prophesy today? The answer to that would be yes. But there is no new prophecy and no new revelation. So in that sense, a person is not a prophet as in the prophets of old.

Teachers are those who take the teachings of the apostles and prophets and teach them to the body of Christ. As far as new revelation and new teaching goes, teachers don't get new revelation and new teaching. They are drawn to the teachings of the apostles and the prophets, drawn to those who were used to inspire God's word. And the teacher teaches the word of God. He doesn't come up with new stuff!

    Hopefully this helps!

    Christina,

When a person is regenerated by the Holy Spirit at conversion, he/she is indwelt by the Holy Spirit. All of what the Holy Spirit wishes to give you is available to you from that moment on. You can pray and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal to you the gift He has placed in you. Also, when you serve others in the body of Christ, others will begin to notice your gift and may identify it for you. Then you can learn more about this gift and seek for ways to exercise it within the body of believers God has placed you in.

Also, a person can have more than one gift. The Bible says that the Holy Spirit bestows the gifts as He sees fit. So it is His choice as to what gifts a person receives.

    Commentary on this website:

    People's Bible Notes for 1 Corinthians 12:11

1Corinthians 12:11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit. There are named in 1Cor. 12:8-10 nine gifts, all supernatural, imparted by the same Spirit, which distributes them according to HIS own will.

In my experience, we need to study what the gifts are and how they operate. Read the Gospels to see how Jesus and the disciples operated these gifts. Not in pride, but humility.

    I was given discerning of spirits because I had so much trouble with them (evil) after salvation. Not only the evil; but discerning angels;

Knowing what is false or truth.

One example of the gifts are Jesus with the Samaritan woman at the well.

Yes, everyone that is saved is a member of Christ, and they have a choice to receive the first spiritual gift, that is to be filled with the Holy Ghost. but it is up to them to choose to use the first gift are not. The first gift that the Father gives is the gift of the Holy Ghost. If you let it operate in your life freely than other gifts will be added unto you. Do you recall the parable in Matthew 25: 14-30 the lord gave out talents to his servants, these talents Jesus was talking about in the parable are the gifts of the spirit. There are ten gifts the first is the Holy Ghost than nine more gifts follow. If you use the first gift freely which is the Holy Ghost than Jesus will store unto you another gift. The answer to your second question is yes you can have all of the gifts of the spirit if you allow them to work freely in your life.

    God Bless

Hi Christina Another P.S. My apology also any other question on this field of Gods Word I'll be glad

ability and that scares the enemy.

Hi Christina Notice in 1 Corinthians 12 :1 It starts saying gifts[which is in italics which means added later] then

in verse 7 the Word switches to [manifestation ]of the Spirit which is outward displays of the Gift of holy Spirit

these are available according the ability Given by spirit to operate. Also they do not operate you, you operate the

ability. Its like being given a loaded tool box and you decide to work the tools or not. The true God is not a control

freak it is God given ability I.E. Gift. There is much confusion in this area which has caused unfortunately also much

division. God Bless Knowing the truth will indeed set us free. All believers operate one or some whether knowing

or not. It's part of the package deal known as Christ in you the Hope of Glory God Bless.

P.S. Individuals say these are no longer in operation then the question is why did God spend literally three chapters

of His word explaining the operation and purpose of His Power. God doesn't waste words, especially when his are perfect!

    Prayerfully this helps

    Brother Mishael,

Amen! Jesus Christs words are EVERLASTING!

    John 3:5

"Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God."

    Matthew 24:35

"Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away."

    Matthew 28:18-20

18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

In summary: Jesus tells the apostles to TEACH ALL NATIONS, very important - ALL NATIONS. Some teaching false doctrine will state that the above scripture is directed at Israel only - NOT SO!!!!!

ALL NATIONS - means all people all over this EARTH!

    God Bless!

    Baptism

    Mark 11:28-31, John 1:29, 36,

    ** Matthew 3:13-17

"And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness"

I truly believe that water baptism is an act of obedience. For me, it was a line the demons could not cross over to torment me anymore. All sin is bad. Satan is legalistic. If we sin ( Job 1), he's at the throne asking to sift our baby Christian faith. God will not allow it. We are in Christ Jesus. That is what our faith grows on.

First thing the Holy Spirit taught me is that the Blood of the Lamb, is more powerful than anything Satan has. If we can't even speak it out, our born again spirits can cry out to God and plead the Blood of Jesus.

Everyone has a moment to resist stepping out, to sin against ourselves and the Lord. We obey sin, OR, we call upon the Blood Jesus shed on the Cross.

I think most people don't perceive the daily battles going on in the heavenlies over things we get into, daily. That's what we give thanks for. May we not disregard the holy blood of Jesus. He's given us His Authority to fight back with. Parents, fight on behalf of your kids. The war continues. Complacency is heartbreaking. Don't let the devil take your kids hostage, your health, your marriage, your job, your extended world.

Collectively we have so much power to pool together in prayer: corporately. If we would just show up at church and decree in prayer over anything__change would occur. As it is written!! The PRAYER OF AGREEMENT. We live like orphans. Who is your Abba? God is my daddy. I love my Daddy more than anything. He loves me! We have daily relationship. I never forget His or Jesus's HOLINESS.

One last thing. Read Psalms and perceive the adoration, worship, trust, anguish of heart over sin, relationship, more. That's where love begins and continues.

Baptism screams, "I am my Beloveds, and My Beloved is MINE !! (Song of Solomon)

1 Corinthians 12:13 God's ONE Baptism for The Body Of CHRIST, Under GRACE/Mystery:

Precious friends, Please Be Encouraged/Edified in This Important "study" of three baptisms:

God's Word Of Truth, Rightly Divided, 'Shows water' is NOT Under God's GRACE, Today:

    (1) Prophecy/Law for ISRAEL: The Twelve Were Sent to water baptize!

The TWO Main, of 12 baptisms =

    A) water, For remission of sins/induction into Israeli "priesthood!" {separate "study" IF you wish...} ( Matthew 3:5-6) ( Mark 1:4) ( Luke 3:3) ( John 1:31) ( Luke 7:29-30) ( Acts 10:37) ( Matthew 28:19) ( Mark 16:16) ( Acts 2:38) ( Acts 22:16) ( Ezekiel 36:25) ( John 18:35) ( Exodus 19:6) +

    B) WITH The Holy Spirit, Poured Out By CHRIST, for power, signs And wonders! ( Isaiah 44:3) ( Matthew 3:11) ( Mark 1:8) ( Mark 16:17-18) ( Luke 24:49) ( Acts 2:17-18) ( Acts 2:38) ( Acts 8:15-17) ( Acts 11:16)

    Prophecy/Law

Rightly Divided ( 2 Timothy 2:15) From Things That Differ!:

    (2) Mystery/GRACE! = our "apostle to the Gentiles" for The Body Of CHRIST:

Paul Was Not Sent to {water} baptize! Why Not?:

Today: 'Only ONE' Baptism = "BY" The ONE Spirit = God's OPERATION, Spiritually Identifying members In (The ONE Body Of) CHRIST!! ( Ephesians 4:5) ( Colossians 2:12) ( Galatians 3:27) ( Romans 6:3-4) ( 1 Corinthians 12:13) --------------------------------------------------

Thus, This ONE Baptism Is Performed, By God, Today, Under God's GRACE/MYSTERY Program, when the sinner "believes in CHRIST, that He died and rose again, and God saves them" in the twinkling of an eye.

Thus, "water baptism" Is Scriptural, But Dispensationally, "was for the Previous Law/Prophecy Program" of God, For ISRAEL!

Conclusion, water baptism is Scriptural, but, TODAY, is UNdispensational! Amen?

Precious friends, Please be Richly Encouraged, enlightened, exhorted, and edified!"

    ( 2 Timothy 2:15; Romans 16:25; Ephesians 1:3-9; Ephesians 3:9 = Grace/Mystery 'fellowship,' today?)

  • Jesse - In Reply on 1 Corinthians 12 - 2 years ago
    Victor,

The body of Christ consists of believers from many different churches. But the requirement is that they be born of God's Spirit.

    1 Corinthians 12:13 says, for by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Gentiles, whether bond or free;

And again, the word baptize is the name of what God's Spirit does in a person's life when they are saved. It is a Spiritual baptism which water baptism symbolizes. But when God's Spirit comes into your life, it's a cleansing, and it's an identification.

When we baptize people in the water, it is because of their confession that they have experienced the baptism of the Holy Spirit, and have identified in the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ. That is why we baptize the way we do in the water. Water baptism can't save anybody. It's just water. It's the baptism of the Spirit that saves, whether it's Jew or Gentile, bond or free.

Every person must experience the same baptism. And notice again that the emphasis is by one Spirit. And notice the second part: And have been all made to drink into one Spirit. So we're baptized, and that's when we're saved, and our fellowship with Him is that we drink. We drink of the living water. That's our walk in life with God. It says drink "into" one Spirit.

It's like saying everybody is drinking out of the same cup. Everybody is drinking from the same Spirit that satisfies the inner soul with living water.

Brother Victor, may CHRIST IN US grace us with HIS wisdom and HIS understanding.

There is ONLY one SPIRIT and that Spirit is GOD.

There is ONLY one Body (that PERFECT body that the Father gave His Son, that the SPIRIT (the Father lives in) and that BODY is CHRIST.

When we are born of the ONE SPIRIT then we become that ONE BODY (Father and Christ in us).

When we leave this body of flesh then we still are that ONE BODY; but now made PERFECT as Christ was perfect, when the Father gave him THE ONE BODY.

Margie : There is never a question when it comes to God healing his children. He ALWAYS heals his children ! ! He will either heal them here on Earth or he will call them home to be with him . Either way the child of God receives his or her healing. When a loved one gets sick and dies we feel as if God did not hear our prayers or let us down. In life or death Gods love never fails.

Ephesians 6:10-18. Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

    Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

    And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

    Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
  • William Dando - In Reply on 1 Corinthians 12 - 3 years ago
Dear Margie, I would like to expand on what Jesse wrote. It is true that physical healing is not promised to us today because this dispensation is not about Israel or Gods promises to them. Physical healing is a part of the promises of God to Israel and the establishment of the kingdom promised to them. In this dispensation there is neither Jew nor Gentile. Believers are immersed into the body of Christ. God does have mercy with physical healing today but it is not promised. God was still dealing with Israel in early Acts and then slowly withdrew this sign gift as Israel again rejected the witness of the Holy Spirit repeatedly in Acts so that God finally withdrew the sign gifts to them. Thats why you read about physical healing and other sign gifts in Pauls epistles written during the Acts period. As Moses was given Gods revelation for the Jews, Paul was given Gods revelation for believers today. See Eph 3. I hope this helps because without this understanding it is difficult to reason why we are not healed physically all the time. Not our promise. We have something so much better. May God give you understanding.
  • Evangelist - In Reply on 1 Corinthians 12 - 3 years ago
Jesus will heal your body, sickness, and disease if you ask Him. If you have faith the size of a mustard seed you can tell the mountain to move.

Anything you ask the Father in Jesus's name and don't doubt in your heart, He will do it. We have not because we ask not.

God's Word is True. If you believe that the Lord Jesus Christ rose from the dead, that same faith will heal your physical body.
  • Jesse - In Reply on 1 Corinthians 12 - 3 years ago
    Margie,

Christ's atonement was for our spiritual healing, not physical. This is not to say that God can't heal us physically if He chooses to do so. Christ's sacrificial atonement provided a way for our soul to be healed from sin.

Physical healing was not part of the atonement. The apostle Paul had suffered so many physical ailments. He asked God on more than one occasion to remove these physical ailments and God chose not to do so but instead said "My grace is sufficient for thee."

Hi Jesse. I too was very glad to see you back here, remembering your clear & wise teaching that you've shared with us in the past, often basing it on your proficiency in Greek.

I'm still on vacation, as mentioned earlier to others, but trust to contribute here once again after a few days. And thanks for what you've shared in this thread - to which I fully concur.

    Chris,

It is nice to read your posts again. I had not been on here for almost a year and I did miss reading the things you share.

I wanted to say amen to what you just posted here about a Christian without the Holy Spirit would be impossible. Romans 8:9 tells us that if we do not have His Spirit living in us, we would have an invalid claim at being a Christian, a "Christ-follower."

It's impossible to follow Christ without His Spirit because it is His Spirit who persuades us to follow Him. In fact, that's what the word faith in the bible means, persuasion.

Concerning gifts, I've come to understand that the only gift that is actually given to us is the gift of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the gift. Everything else is just an expression of His grace.
