Wesley's Notes for Proverbs 31:1

31:1 Lemuel - Of Solomon, by the general consent both of Jewish and Christian writers; this name signifies one from God, or belonging to God, and such an one was Solomon eminently, being given by God to David and Bathsheba, as a pledge of his reconciliation to them after their repentance. Possibly his mother gave him this name to mind him of his great obligations to God, and of the justice of his devoting himself to God's service.

Discussion for Proverbs 31

Verse 10: A godly woman with precious qualities is a woman who is viewed as valuable and precious to Jehovah God.

The first 2 qualities mentioned in this verse are superficial and can change over time. A woman who truly fears God though will develop beautiful and long lasting qualities that will be cherished.

Who can find a virtuous woman? The virtuous woman can be found when GOD has prepared and sent both to glorify HIS example of marriage.

Who can find a virtuous women? Do they still exist? I pray that when my son is old enough she will be found! He's 15, raised in the church, have a positive attitude, good group of friends, honor roll student, Loves the Lord Jesus Christ. I know I'm a virtuous women. My husband is a minister, along with Christ in our lives the foundation is already set. Have a Blessed Day All of You. ☺

This Proverb has so much to offer young women and men and these are the things that were ttaught once upon a time in church by the older women to the young womten. No one seems to have the love and show csre for tge young generation. This is the type of teaching that is missing from the church today. I was once the type of proverb wife and was physicalyl abused, I took my sons away from that.
