In 1975, I accepted Jesus Christ as my Saviour and Lord at twelve years of age. Three years later, I started to backslide because I saw and heard of tragic things happening to good people. I started to wonder why such a “good God” wouldn’t intervene to help those affected by these tragedies. My faith in God dwindled. In 1980, at the age of seventeen, I went on a school trip to France and England. This experience would change my life forever! As we left France and entered England, my group was ushered to stay at a small college in London. Upon arrival, we immediately grabbed our passports to go downtown to exchange and switch our French currency to English currency. Unfortunately, I left my passport in the room. At the bank exchange, after realizing this, I went around the block to hail a cab. It was then that I realized that I didn’t have the address to give to the cabbie. I ran back to the bank exchange, but to my dismay, my group had already left. It was then that I realized that “I was lost” and had no one to help me! I got in the cab, telling the cabbie that I was staying somewhere in Camdentown, a large borough in London. As I sat in the back of the cab, I did something that I hadn’t done in years….I prayed to Jesus, telling Him that “if you get me out of this, I will serve you until I die!” Roughly forty minutes later, the cabbie turned down a street, and I thought that things looked somewhat familiar. A few minutes later, the driver turned into a semi-circle, pulling up to the very building that I was staying in. To my amazement, a Power had directed the cabbie straight to my building! Years later I realized that the cabbie was an angel that God had sent to bail me out of my dilemma! After logically trying to explain what had happened and making no sense, I accepted the fact that God had heard my prayer……He is very REAL! He knew that a logical thinking person like me needed to experience a miracle to know how real He is. I am now fifty years old, and since that day, I have kept my promise to the Lord…to serve Him until I die!
