~THE-JAB~'s testimony "First Prayer After I Was Saved" on 1/28/2013, 1:02am...
My Father was an alcoholic all of my life before I became a Christian. That was 40 years ago. Before I became a Christian, life was hell on earth. My dad was a career military man. I wasn't a christian back then and I would pray he would get ship back to sea.
I gave my heart to Jesus 4 months after I turned 18 years old. I vowed I would leave home the day I turned 18. After 18 years and 4 days, I too was in Boot Camp. Six weeks later I went to my new duty station, Fighter Town USA, NAS Miramar, San Diego Ca. I was in a Fighter Squadron VF-114. Top Gun was in the hanger next to ours, if you have ever seen the movie "Top Gun" with Tom Cruise. No, Tom Cruise was not there.
Within a few weeks of being at NAS Miramar I asked Jesus to come into my heart. The first week I was a Christian I raised my head up to the LORD and said, "Jesus, if you are for real, would you cause my dad to quit drinking. I never told my dad about the prayer I asked my Heavenly Father.
Within 6 months my dad walked into the house one day and told my mother he was never going to drink again. My mother told this to me months later, that my dad had quit drinking and had shook uncontrolably for 2 to 3 weeks. My dad is 81 years old now and my best friend.
Years later I asked Jesus to save my mother and father. I said, Jesus I can see you saving my mother, but my dad is so cold hearted he may never come to you. I told the LORD, that if they both went to hell I would still serve Him the rest of my life. Two months later at a revival one night I saw both of my parents there. That night they both went up and accepted Jesus as their Savior.
My sister is the first person in the family I introduced to Jesus, she was 11 years old at the time. That has been almost 40 years ago. My sister started a Bible Study at my parents house last month, and it was great. Do you really know how wonderful Jesus is? God does not love me anymore than He loves you. Seek His Face and ask Jesus to save your love one. He's just waiting for you to ask. Ask and you shall recieve, seek and you shall find, Knock and the door will be open to you. Ask, Seek, and Knock. The first letter of each work spells ASK. God Bless you. ~THE-JAB~ JAB= J.A.Beatty
