Agnes' (Gesenius))), Jezebel (modern: Isabel), wife of Ahab (circa ; 1 Kings 16:29), an impious and cruel queen, who protected idolatry and persecuted the prophets (1 Kings 16:312 Kings 9:30); in Revelation 2:20 equivalent to a second Jezebel, the symbolic name of a woman who pretended to be a prophetess, and who, addicted to antinomianism, claimed for Christians the liberty of eating things sacrificed to idols, Revelation 2:20.
