Tobit Chapter 4 Discussion

Hi There is no merit given to anyone by skin color. Abel and Cain I'm sure was the same skin color, Perhaps Noah and Nimrod.

    Also Paul, Peter, and Judas.

The outward appearance of a man is not what commend you to God,

This tabernacle of flesh and blood we have here no matter what color has nothing to offer to the Lord by way of appearance.

This is what our Sinful flesh covets for, "GLORY"

This is how Satan fell and why Cain killed Abel.

The jews was set apart and not because of skin color or any other reason from their side of the engagement. THEY WAS A STIFF NECK PEOPLE LIKE the rest of the world. By them God showed the Lord what the tru and living God is like compared to the many idols that the world worshipped. He chastened them like a father to them.

And he showed the world that an outward religion with commandments and ordinances can't make one Perfect. And they was in need of a savior. All of this is not because of their color.

And God is not through with Israel.

    Note:

Ezekiel 36:22-23. Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; I DO NOT THIS FOR YOUR SAKES, O HOUSE OF ISRAEL, BUT FOR MINE HOLY NAME'S SAKE, which ye have profaned among the heathen, whither ye went.

AND I WILL SANCTIFY MY GREAT NAME, WHICH WAS PROFANE AMONG THE HEATHEN, which ye have profaned in the midst of them; AND THE HEATHEN SHALL KNOW THAT I AM THE LORD, saith the Lord GOD, WHEN I SHALL BE SANCTIFIED IN YOU BEFORE THEIR EYES.

And God gave him the covenant of circumcision: But true circumcision is circumcision of the heart.

The only virtue there is, is through the Holyspirit not the color of man.

    God bless.

It sounds like you aren't open to discussing the Bible if others have a different opinion in a public forum which challenge your interpretations. If someone starts a post and makes an accusation about the credibility of the Bible or makes an interpretation that isn't supported by it, it shouldn't be a surprise for people to come to discuss and defend the credibility of God's word and the Christian faith.

I'm aware of the story of Moses. He was an Israelite in fact. This still proves that he was a man of color.

the Tobit talks about women that chase men. I don't think that applies to me. My church prays for me to find a husband pretty often. They are also aware of the fact that I don't worry about getting married because I have a strong relationship with Yah, Yeshua, and the Holy Spirit. I'm speaking for other woman who look like and and the ones who don't but still agrees with me. I think that is evidence.

Why do you assume that I chase men like the "Whore" the Tobit speaks about? I have never chased a man, or do I have to. I know the word of God sir. Why do you assume I do not? I don't need my church to pray for my husband because they have been for some time now. I also knew that Moses was not Egyptians so yes I'm offended because you assume several things about me. The Old Testament to more alive and relevant now than it ever was. I'm sticking to his word even what the Tobit says. I will also continue to pray that God CONTINUES to give me wisdom and discernment.

    Thanks

You are correct he was a Jew, in fact he was an Israelite. I never said he was an Egyptian you assumed that I thought he was. Why do you assume as well sir?
  • Fatimah Williams - In Reply on Tobit 4:12 - 2 years ago
Why would you assume that I chase men like the "Whore" the Tobit spoke about? I have never chased a man. You have taken this TOO far at this point! Please stay in whatever lane you're in please.
  • Fatimah Williams - In Reply on Tobit 4:12 - 2 years ago
Do you sir assume? Do you always pray before you do something? When you assume that someone does not pray or use discernment are you not calling them foolish? Are you calling me foolish? I do not think you used discernment before writing this thread.

    Blessings

I do not feel I need to explain or entertain your comments. I don't know if you are trying to prove a point or educate me on the bible. Either way, my opinion or view is my own, kind of like freedom. So I'm going to believe what I believe and I'm sure you will do the same. FYI saying "Blessings" does not soften anything but thanks for your admit to correct/educate. I'm sure there will be others who will try to correct me and that's ok too. "Social Media" should be a place to give an opinion without corrections but it is not. So I guess who's next?

I'll check on that. Moses was born to Jews. But he was adopted by Pharaohs sister as an infant. He was not Egyptian.

Discernment and prayer should be used before automatically assuming every verse in the Bible applies to us. There were many specific instructions to people in certain circumstances in certain times, in certain places. For example: if I read Jonah 3:2 it says go to Ninevah- does that me I myself must go to Ninevah right now? Or do you think this is historical for our benefit to see how God instructed Jonah to go there?

How about Genesis 6:14. If I read that, does that automatically I need to build an ark? Did God say that to me and only to me?

Now, let's go back to your Tobit verse- does that truly mean what you say it means? Did you pray and ask God about it and see any confirmation from Him?

What about other followers of God in the Bible who had mixed race spouses? I personally do not believe your interpretation applies as I do not see evidence for it. A current political movement is aimed at dividing people and making people feel entitled. It is deceptive and evil and I believe it's from satan and not God, based on the fruit and lies of this movement. I believe God over man. I will follow God over man and He said this: Galatians 3:28. God bless...

Moses was a man of color. So it doesn't apply to him. That is why God's grace covered Ethiopians and Moses.

    1 Timothy 2:2-6

For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

    Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,

    1 Timothy 1

For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for MENSTEALERS, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine.

This is what every country is experiencing. The Bible says that it will 'get worse and worse.' Your faith needs to be strong in what the New Testament teaches on these Last Days before Jesus's Return.

Moses married a woman of color; so God does not forbid "mixed marriages".

HOWEVER, He is OPPOSED to Christians marrying Unbelievers (listed above)

Stay on target with your faith; attend Church (there is your harvest field for a mate). Visit other Churches with a friend.

I do not mean to offend, but we need to look for godly Character with a loving heart. Adorned with the Fruit of the Holy Spirit. A fit body and a fine face CAN BE A TRAP engineered by Satan.

Maybe your church has a War Room ministry that you can sit in and they will pray for your future husband to be on the road to find his Wife. Read Genesis 24. In this story, the Servant is the Holy Spirit. He's going to find your husband. This is a principle. You don't chase the man.

DATING is for investigating character and habits that are contrary to scripture. 1 Corinthians chapters 6 & 7. Following this leads to a fireplace mantle of kids pictures and happy memories.

This proves to me that God is not please with Interracial dating and marriage. Black men being with white men is a pride issue. Black women are heart broken about not being wanted by their own kindred and it breaks my heart!! So glad I have some truth.

He who dwealeth in the secret place of the MOST HIGH, shall abide in the shadows of the ALMIGHTY. I will step out in faith and call the evil one a liar. My FATHER is my Salvation. I will not be scared of the enemies around me continuously trying to steal my joy. All chains in the name of JESUS IS BROKEN.. My children, granchildren, and great-grand are protected. Bring good , caring Angels into our life and may we be receptive of them when they arrive. Keep us always FATHER in your Grace. Forgive our ignorance. I believe the Old Testament laws are still in effect, I also take what The Bible says literally. I.believe Noah lived to be 950 yrs. old. My gfriend thinks I'm off my rocker! Oh well! To Each Their Own!!

I think Tobit was talking to his son, before Jesus Christ was born and crucified. Now we must except Jesus Christ as our Lord and savior and be baptized to escape hell.
