I think it is important here to realize we make "daily " choices as to who what we serve. We either serve our mortal needs or make out "spiritual " walk a priority. This is not to say our mortal needs are unimportant however, if allowed, they can take us down a sinful patch that will conflict with our spiritual existance. Thus, this is our daily task of carrying our own cross and following in the footsteps of Jesus, our Saviour.
  • Kim L. Sowels on Romans 6 - 9 years ago
When I received Jesus Christ as my Lord and personal Savior, newness of life began to birth in me as I yielded my members to righteousness and began living a life of holiness according to His word and His will for my life. This can only happen when your heart is submitted onto Him and you deny self.
  • John turner on Romans 6 - 9 years ago
No Jeff Baptismal water have no power to forgive sins nor wash them away only the blood of Jesus Christ has that power. The very moment I trusted Jesus Christ as my savior the Holy Spirit took up the abode in me. The purpose to teach me all things. That is knowing what the Bible is telling us for our everyday life. The thief on the cross never was Baptized but Jesus said "today shall thou be with me in paradise. What can wash away my sins NOTHING BUT THE BLOOD OF JESUS. THANK GOD FOR HIS AMAZING,SAVING EVERLASTING LIFE. THANKS TO CALVARY

Jeff, yes! That is right. Jesus 'precious blood saves us and we come into contact when our faith takes under the water and we are baptized unto Christ 's death. We receive the gift of the holy spirit then. Praise God! 1 Peter 3:21,22. Romance 6:3-4, Galatians 3:27
  • Jeff on Romans 6 - 9 years ago
It is his blood that makes us white as snow but know there is no remission without the blood and act 2 verse 38 says to first repent and be baptized all you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sin and you shall receive the holy ghost

  • Delivered on Romans 6:14 - 9 years ago
Amen. I always hear controversy over Romans 6:14 but I believe, according to Paul 's reference in the very next verse that upholding the 10 commandments and what we can in the Law is still required of us, and not a liscense to sin as is often said. The laws we can 't fulfill in these modern times is where the grace comes in, through Christ, bless His name. Jesus said that he didn 't come to abolish the law but to fulfill it. And that it 's easier for heaven and earth to pass away before one of God 's laws become void. Thank you for your sacrifice Lord
  • MockingBird on Romans 6:14 - 9 years ago
Praise God : God has made a way that sin shall not dominate me any longer. God 's Grace is bigger than the bondage of sin I allow myself to get into. All I have to do is believe God for the deliverance of it and act accordingly : Of course that is not easy but if I hold to God 's word I will shortly see the manifestation of freedom in me and my life. I held onto God 's word for deliverance from smoking : even when I was still smoking and I got delivered . Been delivered now for 20 years. God will do the same in any other bondage and I will get deliverance. Because of what Jesus purchased for me I can do it !!!!

Romans 6 is one of the best chapters in the Bible! We are servants of Christ. Righteousness. We are free from sin. We were a slave to sin before we believed and were baptized into Christ 's death. We are free because He paid our debt on the cross and rose again. Hallelujah for evermore! We all should memorize this chapter!
  • Get some FAITH on Romans 6 - 9 years ago
I think you yall missed a verse. FREED FROM SIN. There is none why? Made SIN FREE. Sin is a transgression of law. We are DEAD to sin and it surely says to "reckon " that. 7 For he that is dead is freed from sin.
  • Beatriced dei on Romans 6 - 9 years ago
baptism is to be totally Immersed and if we die with Christ, we shall resurrect with him with a newness.
  • Miguel on Romans 6 - 9 years ago
We are all born sinners, but when a person is sorry for their sins, asks Jesus for forgiveness, and is saved from their sins, we become new creatures. We turn away from sin. When we have Jesus in our lives, we can live a sin free life. The Bible says we are not tempted more than we are able to bear. The person that says you have to sin every day is really saying God is not big enough to keep them from sinning. I am not going to say we won t stumble, but it will be a rare occasion, not a willful daily sin. After salvation, we must stay in our Bible and on our knees. The closer we get to God, the more He will help us. Before a true Christian can sin, God pricks their heart and lets them know they shouldn t do what they are about to do. If you override that prick, you have chosen to sin, and you are telling God to step aside. A person who sins will not go to Heaven. If you believe that after salvation, you cannot lose out with God and go to hell, please repent, and let God lead you in a life of true holiness, a life of peace, and a surety that He can keep us free from sin.
  • William Davis on Romans 6:23 - 9 years ago
The wages of sin is death, notice it did not say "The wages of the sinner is death " so saved or unsaved the wages of sin is death

  • Pastor Watkins on Romans 6:2 - 9 years ago
I guess if I can best describe what God was conveying through paul was the blood bought believe has to have a conscious mind not to obey sin not by his own strenght but by the grace of God through the new nature, of regeneration the enables the convert to live in such a way that in the past he could not. causing not only a agonizing over sin but power to over come it by God 's grace that we cannot walk persumptuously in this life. Simply it come down to a choice of the grace given us to make the right one! Amen

ETHEL WARE comments for romans 6 VERSE 3 MEANS INTO HIS DEATH, We are identified with all Christ accomplishments, His forever broke sins control over us. v 4 WE SHOULD ALSO WALK IN THE NEWNESS OF LIFE. We should live our everyday lives manifesting resurrection life, free from sins control. The believer now have the power to serve Christ instead of his old master, sin. stop letting sin have master over your life, neither yield, but present yourselves Holy, and have a determined commitment.

    Powerful
  • Toni on Romans 6:23 - 9 years ago
God gives us two roads life and death Deuteronomy 30 19 . If we reject Jesus and choose to walk in the pathway of unrighteousness, then the payment is death. God says why die before your time? Sin is sending people to an early grave and robbing people of true joy and peace. But then, after the physical death, will be that eternal death which is in hell. But, those who choose the right road, the road of Jesus Christ, who is the way, the truth and the liffe, they will experience joy unspeakable, full of glory. Life will be joyous and peaceful when we walk with the Lord. Then, after this life is over, we are guaranteed eternal salvation to be with God forever and ever. Amen

I like the two extremes in this verse. Wages And death Gift and life, it says it all.
  • Eugene on Romans 6 - 9 years ago
There is a QUESTION THAT EVEN GOD CANNOT ANSWER, or will not answer. It is in Romans 6 23. Paraphrased, "how can we escape if we neglect so great, SO GREAT a salvation? ". Ponder that! Numerically, in the Bible, 6 denotes sin. Numerically 23 means death. You think this is an accident?
  • Michelle sweeney on Romans 6 - 9 years ago
