Verses 17-19 are speaking to things going on in my life right now. I thank God for his word. I want to retaliate, but the word of God says no, don t do that. I am compelled by the Holy Spirit to pray instead. Thank you God for taking care of me.

GOOD CHAPTER TO REMIND US WHO WE ARE IN CHRIST. WE HAVE A TRAMSFORM MIND BNY RENEWING IT. WE ARE ONE BODY WITH MANY GIFTS. WE ARE TO LOVE OUR BROTHER AND SISTERS IN CHRIST JESUS.WE ARE TO LIVE PEACEFULLY WITH ALL MEN IF POSSIBLE GOD IS THE ONE WHO DOES THE CORRECTING. BLESS THOSE WHP PERSECUTE YOU. GOD DOES HAVE A BETTER PLAN GRACE AND MERCY

Peter; this is such an important thing! How "natural" it is to respond with self defense when someone says or does us wrong or unfairly (real or imagined)! But we have been given light that we are not made to act like animals, but like God: and "natural" is something that we are to keep under subjection in obedience to the Spirit of God He has put within us. May the Lord's grace prevail for us!

This whole chapter provides guidelines for Christian living. Key guidelines are- Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not. Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. live peaceably with all men. Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

Romans 12:4-5 4 For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: 5 So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another. As brothers and sisters in Christ, we should all be like minded as Apostle Paul said, if one of us hurt, we all hurt. Jesus is the head of the Church Body, let's Love one another in Christ not in foolish words.

As long as you baptize in the name of the Father, in the name of the Son, in the name of the Holy Ghost, as Jesus, Himself, instructed us, by His very own words. Matthew 28-19.GBU

The Lord Jesus has His Pastors in this age of Grace. And they preach the SAME message Peter preached in Acts 2:38 - and then you follow the way to Him in the epistles the bks. after Acts .

I think that Paul is explaining to us how we as Christian are suppose to live. Verses 17 and 21 bring back memories to me as a young child, how it was " to get even" with those who mistreated me. I was raised in the church, but also as verse 2 states " and be not confirmed to this world" I was to an extent. But praise the Lord, by His love, Grace and mercy my mind has been transformed.

It is a human tendency to think highly of ourselves. But we should not base our view of ourselves on our own assessment, but on the faith given by God: "For I say, through the grace given to me, for everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith," Rom. 1:3.

    I like what P.C. Parks said about V, 20

Verse 21 urges us to conquer or overcome the evil and not to let it conquer us.

We should always learn to show love
  • Philip C. Parks
The expression, "thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head," is a metaphor with at least two interpretations: 1st, the Christian's compassion rather than retribution will potentially cause within the "enemy" guilt, shame, and embarrassment. 2nd, The "enemy" will potentially feel mental pain for receiving compassion and mercy in response to insult, defamation, and slander--PCP.

When we are wronged we may be tempted to take matters into our own hands but verse 19 shows that God wants us to leave matters to Him so that he can right all the wrongs.

I think Romans 12 is talking about how GOD wants us to wait for his conformation if we want to do anything.

The Bible also states "Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord God will see them through." He is the rock upon which I stand the joy and peace within me and when I am down He lifts me up!!! Who could not HOPE in The Lord?
  • Shawee for verse 18
Romans 12:18 to me symbolizes unity. It doesn't matter the situation, we should try our best to reconcile and make peace. As children of God we are called to be peacemakers.

God's words are always powerful than a sword. Obedience to Jesus words are more important to meditate than prayers for God's words will give us peace, life, happiness and life in abundance. Thanks to the blood of Jesus that shed for us. His blood are more than enough to give us life. We only need to do is to trust Jesus and allow him to make a plan and make decisions in our life for his works are just perfect and always right. Thank you Jesus and will praise and worship you forever for you are worthy to be praised. You are the only Jehovah our Provider, Lover of our Soul, Our Peace and our Righteousness. Teach us Lord to love and to wait on you. amen
  • God has given us all THE measure of FAITH. So therefore u have the tool GOD given faith ...are u using it ? are you applying it to your life, your children's lives, your healing, your purpose, your ministry. Without Faith it is impossible to please God. The faith He's given you must be activated. You must BELIEVE and not doubt to active FAITH. You have the FAITH. Scripture says that..but are stirring it up in your life. FAITH brings about results. If you just have the Faith the size of a grain of mustard seed. You can please God. So today ACTIVATE what God has given you...it will turn into crazy FAITH. Trust God not man.

Romans 12v2. The Will of God. In life we find the Perfect Will and The Permissive Will of God, The Perfect Will of God is, what God wants for us when we follow his commands and give glory to his name. The Permissive Will of God, is what God allows to happen, but we must remember God always got something better for us, so in life we must always be in the Perfect Will of God.

Just and reasonable service. Not too much to ask. We all need to be following the Lord's instructions and stop leaving ot up to someone else.
  • Foster Simbeye for verse 17
It is not for man to revenge, but for God Himself. As christians, Jesus Christ must be our standard, He didn't do evil to those who crusify Him, but he asked His heavenly Father to forgive them. So, let us also pray for those who offended us and forgive them, in so doing Our heavenly father will also forgive us.
  • Realized that we are sinners and that we are weak and the world that we are living is full of temptations. Surrendering ourselves to God by constanly seeking Him and by his mercy will help transformed our mind to do His will Joyfully .
  • Brenda Lee Caldwell for verse 19
Praise him for we have an AWESOME GOD..

So true 1987! But you didn 't stumble across that scripture. .God directed you to your answer. Every question we have in this life has an answer provided to us by our Father in Heaven. BIBLE...Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth...We must always call on God for the answers. When we try to take things into our own hands we only make it worse. Congrats girlfriend on doing the right thing!! Overcome evil with good Romans 12.
