Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. All we have to do is BELIEVE. with all the HEART. NOTHING MORE...

Irene123 and Bud another helpful scripture maybe Proverbs 14:12 "There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death."
  • Jonathan Timmons on Romans 10 - 6 years ago
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved is the first part of it. This chapter expressed to call on the name of the lord/confess it. This means that you have transformed. Transformation is a total turn of events in your life. This means to give up your old ways and put on the new. This means to not go back and do what you were doing.

Bud on 3-'17, Rom.10:8-9; I gave you scripture, which you thanked me for, but said you would serve God your way. There's no scripture in God's word that allows us 'our' way; One has to diligently search His Word for His truth. If one takes just vs. 9

The book of Romans was written to the church in Rome, but not the one that is predominant there now. This EARLY church was established after Acts 2:38 was preached by Peter. The ch. in Rome had already gone thru Acts 2:38; this letter is an 'epistle', which simply means letter, a letter of further instruction for their life long walk with Jesus. V. 9 refers to DAILY acknowledging Him in prayer.

So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing Undiluted Word of God.! From the Bible or True Men Of God. Beware, there are many fake words out there..! Lord Help Us daily that we don't fall but stay True to Your Words Only.! For there is Joy when we hear Your True Teachings.. Thank You Jesus..!
  • Lenny on Romans 10 - 7 years ago
Amen! Hearing the word of God results in confidence and ambitions about seeking more of God and within this journey faith ignites. My thoughts is, faith is a strong belief. We cannot have faith in ignoring the word of God. The word of God is to continuously be heard by and not be ignored daily.

It's true, having faith in God's Word brings you peace of mind, and you can mediate and have discernment in the choices you make in your life.
  • MockingBird on Romans 10 - 7 years ago
Faith comes by hearing God's word over , and over , and over , and over , and over , and over , again , and again , and again , and again , and again , and again . Once I've heard , it is time to act on that faith and be doing God's word. God expects me to be doing His word as well as hearing His word . I expect God to do things for me and He in turn expects me to do things for Him as in obeying Him !! Praise God Forever more !!

Abraham had faith even as he took Isaac to sacrifice him to the Lord, and the Lord provided a ram! God is true to His Word, we never have to be afraid that He will require more of us than we can give. Jesus was His perfect sacrifice for us. God gave it ALL for us so that we can come to Him as we are through Jesus.

Irene 123: Thanks for the update, I see that you are will book learned and now more then I for I am still learning but I think you miss the point READ John 3 : 16 again and when I do it does not say you will have to have the HOLY SPIRIT but believe in the LORD JESUS CHRIST. Maybe it's the way I believe but it's my way.
  • R.J. on Romans 10 - 7 years ago
No they can not be saved. Only people that are at an unaccountable age can be saved with out asking Jesus to forgive them of the sins and to ask him to be there savior.
  • Irene123 on Romans 10 - 7 years ago
Bud - Rom. 10:8-9 (Rom.1:7 "called to be saints"). The church in Rome was already established; Paul wasn't writing to sinners. Jesus' church was established in Acts ch. 2 ( Acts 2:37-38). The 'calling' and 'believing' were already done for these saints in Acts 2:38. Paul was just reminding them of this because he knew some were weak in their N.T. belief and were thinking about the O.T. law they had

Thank you, Bud! While we are commanded to judge righteous judgment, and not to hate our brother in our heart by allowing sin upon him; the things that belong only to God, is NOT for us to meddle in! There is a very interesting part in Ezekiel, that speaks of even Sodom and Samaria being restored by God to their former estate; ( Eze. 16:53-55); which sheds some great light upon that subject.
  • Bud on Romans 10 - 7 years ago
Verna, Bruce, And Kelsey: Two questions, 1. How do you know that they do not have GOD in their heart. 2. How are you to judge, that is GOD' job not ours. Your job is to pray for them.
  • Kelsey Oertwich on Romans 10 - 7 years ago
    Verna Ricker: no they cannot.
  • Bruce on Romans 10 - 7 years ago
Verna: (No) It is appointed unto men once to die,but after this the judgment: Hebrews 9:27. My wife,2 sisters, aunts and uncles a lot of friends have died without Christ. I have 2 brothers, a sister, a son still living without Christ. Why do you ask? that's a hard question
  • Verna Ricker on Romans 10 - 7 years ago
I am looking for an answer: If a person dies who don't know God can they be saved?
  • Stephende on Romans 10 - 7 years ago
Romans 9 might be the inception of Christianity. But simply uttering the words is not sufficient. In the name of Christ do people murder. God is a Heart knower. The entire person is required by God and not just the mouth. How do live your life? Is it to God. Are you aware of The commandments and that they apply to Christians as well as Jews.
  • Wendy Morin on Romans 10 - 7 years ago
How wonderful of Paul, to inform the roman believers and remind the jews of God saying a people who did not know him as God and a foolish nation would reconize him as God. This not only ingrafts all nations to salvation but envokes the jews to examine themselves. Praise God
  • Irene123 on Romans 10 - 7 years ago
To Gonzalo - Esaias/Isaiah are the same. The name 'Esaias' is translated from the Greek; Isaiah is from the Hebrew.
  • Stephen on Romans 10 - 7 years ago
