People's Bible Notes for Romans 11:5

Ro 11:5 Even so . . . there is a remnant. As in the times of Ahab, there is "a remnant", a portion of Israel left, which is faithful. According to the election of grace. Godet says: ``The ideas contained in these words is this: In virtue of the election of Israel as the salvation people, God has not left them in our days without a faithful remnant any more than he did the in the kingdom of the Ten Tribes at the period when a far grosser heathenism prevailed.'' The idea is that Israel was the elected (chosen people), and out of it God had always preserved a remnant by his grace. The election of individuals is not referred to, but the election of a remnant to represent the race.

Romans 11:13 For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office: God gave Paul an OFFICE. Paul speaks to the Gentiles, hear what he has to say...

Bruce,John 6:44"draw"is a call, high calling of God. Romans 11:29 "For the gifts and calling of God, are without repentance." Apparently God called you with a"tug of the heart", but you cannot go around saying that it would happen to everyone that he calls. If this is what you are saying you are in breach of Ro.11:29, you are implying that one should repent/not saved; if they did not feel a tug.

Sentinel God,s gift of salvation is a gift you cannot work to get it.
You become born again you are changed this will produce in you a desire to serve God and do works. Works come as a result of a relationship with God not the other way around.
Jesus death on the cross paid our debt no work we can ever do can equal His sacrifice

Child of God - We, the Gentiles, were grafted in. God DOES NOT think like we think. He has provided FULL salvation for us , just as He did for Israel in the O.T. When we are saved we are granted the FULL benefits of that salvation. God is NO respecter of persons, Rom. 2:11; Jas, 2:9; Pro 24:3. No, we are indeed NOT 'step-children'. He wants all to be saved and come to the KNOWLEDGE of the truth.

Sentinel:Read John 6:44:called,if you feel a tug on your Heart ask Forgiveness! You will be Washed,Revelation 1:5 and Baptized with The Holy Ghost,Mark 1:8 / You will be changed 2Corinthians 5:17, You will know, Impossible not too! If Saved. You will tell everyone, just like the ones Jesus Healed. It was WOW, Amazing. I thought everyone would get Saved! Soon found out they didn't want to hear it.

What is this about the remnant, the foreknown, and what does it have to do with us. How do you know then if we are known by God for salvation or damnation. There is still work to be done if you are aware. If I claim salvation based on Paul's teaching, is that it. Sittin' round waiting to die? There's study to find yourself approved. There's the inner life of prayer and inspection. Much todo
