People's Bible Notes for Romans 10:14

Ro 10:14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? The passages quoted from the prophets show that the Gentiles also were to have the opportunity of salvation. Hence the duty of preaching to them is now shown. They could not "call upon the Lord" without faith. See Ro 10:13. But there could be no faith in the Lord unless they had heard of him, since knowledge is an element of faith. But they could not hear the gospel story until it was preached to them. Hence, preaching to the Gentiles was essential to carry out the purposes of God.

Discussion for Romans 10:14

  • I think romans 10:14 says, that we are supposed to have anointed God inspired preachers to teach and expound to us those things concerning Jesus Christ! Not preachers to BEAT us up with all of the things wrong with us, what we should and should not be doing, but simply teach us about who Jesus is, what He stands for, what his death means for all of us sinners. And how then will we hear those things, unless we have a preacher tell them to us. I believe that if God has called some people to go out into the world to tell others about Christ, then that 's fine, but I do not believe that, that is meant for everyone. Because, as Jesus said, upon this rock, I build my church. whether He was referring to the disciples as His Church, or whether it is implied to be a building, it is still within a "set gathering " and therefore, is the structured venue in which we as people are to be told about Jesus Christ. In addition the bible says that we are to "be a witness " not to "go witnessing ".
  • Helena Garilano for verse 14
What this Scripture is saying is that all Christians must stop going to the "church building " on Sunday which is not supported in the Bible. They must go into the streets , festivals , big and small cities and preach the word.
  • Augustine for verse 14
I think we have a big commission to accomplish on earth as Jesus Christ has called us to declay his name to all who have not yet beleive and heard the message of our Lord Jesus Christ. The bible make it clare to us in the book of MATTHEW 28:19-20 SAYS, GO YE THERFORE AND TEACH ALL NATIONS, BAPTIZING THEM IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER, AND OF THE SON, AND OF THE HOLY GHOST. 20. TEACHING THEM TO OBSERVE ALL THINGS WHATSOEVER I HAVE COMMANDED YOU: AND LO, I AM WITH YOU ALWAYS EVEN UNTO THE END OF THE WORLD. AMEN. This let us know and to understand that there are many peoples who are perishing as Apostle Paul said in the book of 1CORINTIANS 1:18 FOR THE PREACHING OF THE CROSS IS TO THEM THAT PERISH, FOOLISHNESS; BUT UNTO US WHICH ARE SAVED IS THE POWER OF GOD. We have a message to declare to the world and that message is that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and He (Jesus Christ) is the way the truth and the life: no man come unto the father (God) but by me. John 14:6. This is our goal towards the world.God bless us all as we accomplish the goal in Jesus name. AMEN....
