"I wish to comment on verse 2 of this chapter. "Behold God is my salvation" He removes deprivation, depravity, and He delivers. God outlined a plan for man to be reconciled to himself by manifesting himself in the flesh.John 1:1,14 Before this virgin birth of Christ, we were without any means of reaching God or being reconciled. We were destitute on a spiritual island called self. He saw our condition and reached for us. Romans5:6-8 Sin had deprived us of any contact or fellowship with God. He removed the deprivation and replaced it with an invitation.John 3:16; Romans 5:1; Romans 10:13 Having our deprivation removed, the writer goes to the next step in the life of the believer. "I will trust and not be afraid:"For the Lord Jehovah is my strength and my song;" Depravity must be delt with on a daily basis until it fades to nothing. When we are saved, we are no longer deprived, but we need to get rid of anything that does not reflect Christ in our lives.Depraity must decrease and Christ must increase to the point that we are governed by the spirit and not by the flesh. There are trials that will come to beset us,but we can get through them and glorify God. I Corinthians 10:13 Hebrews 12:1, IJohn5:5 We know that we can relax and trust in the God of our salvation because it is His strength that saves us and sanctifies us. We are more than conquerors thru Him . IJohn 5:4 Having strength supplied by the Lord Jehovah Himself in the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit, we have reason to sing praises to Him. David said, His praise shall continually be on my lips. Victory is a great reason for singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. Ephesians 5:19,20 Lastly we have His deliverance."He also is become my salvation" At the end of this life there is a surety for us, that God will guide us home. Psalm 48:14 He does not abandon us when we die He stays with us all the way home. It is comforting to know that we are cared for from birth to death and beyond in the family of God. When we complete our earthly walk, we begin our heavenly walk. The writer lets us know that God removes deprivation and saves for whosoever will come to Him. He empowers us with the Holy Spirit to guide us thru this life, and He guides us in death. Removal of deprivation, rids us of depravity, shrouds us with deliverance. What great reasons to sing praise to the God of our salvation. Psalm 50:23"
"This is an amazing scripture and Jehovah's name should be without fail used, he wants us to use it. Lets be honest, if someone wrote my name down over 6000 times in a book I think its fair to assume they want us to use it. Plus, the first part of the model prayer is, "Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy NAME." There seem to be two main reasons. First, many claim that the name should not be used because the original way to pronounce it is unknown today. Ancient Hebrew was written without vowels. Therefore, no one today can say for sure exactly how people of Bible times pronounced YHWH. However, should this prevent us from using God’s name? In Bible times, the name Jesus may have been pronounced Yeshua or possibly Yehoshua—no one can say for certain. Yet, people the world over today use different forms of the name Jesus, pronouncing it in the way that is common in their language. They do not hesitate to use the name just because they do not know its first-century pronunciation. Similarly, if you were to travel to a foreign land, you might well find that your own name sounds quite different in another tongue. Hence, uncertainty about the ancient pronunciation of God’s name is no reason for not using it. A second reason often given for omitting God’s name from the Bible involves a long-standing tradition of the Jews. Many of them hold that God’s name should never be pronounced. This belief is evidently based on a misapplication of a Bible law that states: “Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.”—Exodus 20:7. So how important is the use of Gods name? to leave it on a cliff hanger please read Romans 10:13. All information was gained from the book entitles "What Does The Bible Really Teach." "Matthew, let me share something with you. We\'ve all made mistakes in life and we all experience some level of guilt and fear of judgment. But let me tell you that Jesus Christ shed his blood on the cross to pay for all your sins. We can never have joy and fulfillment in life just by having good morals and following rules, because we still fall short of God\'s perfect standard (Romans 3:23). The peace that we all seek is found in the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary (Romans 5:8). Place your faith fully in Him to forgive you of your past, present, and future sins. Salvation from Hell can only be found when we come to the realization that we are hopeless and helpless apart from God\'s saving grace. Call on him for Salvation as Romans 10:13 admonishes - \"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved\". Then you can have freedom from sin and condemnation as Romans 8:1 tells us - \"There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus\". If you have any questions about these comments, please ask. I want everyone to know the peace that Christ brings. \"Matthew\'s Matthew Chapter 19 comment on 6/29/2012, 1:26am... I will admit I am afraid of judgment because I\'ve made mistakes in my life. I can\'t remember everything but I wish I could take back many of the hurtful things I\'ve said. I have accepted God into my life but my family does not know I have. I have good morals and follow rules and I do not want to go to Hell but I am still afraid...\""
"Having exhorted others to praise the LORD, the Psalmist announces his own firm intention to offer such praise. Those who tutor others do well to practice what they preach, this divinely inspired stanza of adoration represents an excellent template for our own heartfelt worship. We can recognize the works of the LORD only after we have “sought them out.” The casual appreciation of a flower or a sunset does not constitute true worship. Even the heathen thoughtlessly render glancing acknowledgements of nature’s splendor—but they do not peer persistently into the dazzling radiance of what is to discover its divine cause. They never rise above mere observation to reverence and wonder and praise. Indeed, this Psalm reminds us that those who are given the book of nature and refuse to study it are nevertheless responsible to live by its light. Surely St. Paul knew the meaning of this inspired verse when he wrote, “For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse.” [Romans 1:21] The Psalmist here calls us to see beyond the things made to the Infinite Person who made them. In the midst of several references to “the works of the LORD,” Israel’s songster declares that “his work (singular) is honorable and glorious.” In this way, we are reminded that all of God’s great ventures, including creation of the universe, the governance of it and the salvation of his chosen people, are threads of the same cloth—a magnificent tapestry by which he displays his honor and glory. The works of the LORD mentioned include not only the “righteous” or moral law by which he governs all things, but also the “compassion” or tender mercy by which he pardons those who have no righteousness of their own. The works enumerated include not only the “meat” our Heavenly Father provides to them that fear him, but also the “covenant” by which they can be assured that the well of his provision will never run dry. We are reminded that even “verity and judgment,” essential elements of the divine nature, become “the works of his hands” as they are translated into “commandments” which stand forever and ever. Oh how the saints must praise the LORD, not only for his world, but for his word. Even as every creature can see and sense the LORD’s might and magnificence in the splendor that is all ‘round, every rational mind and living soul can know of a certainty that God is present in his written revelation, the truth of which is vindicated of all his children. But the Psalmist does not cease his praise there, and neither should we! Having attributed both the beauty of nature and the wisdom of scripture to their Divine Author, he reserves his highest praise for the One True Word of God—Jesus Christ. His poetry rises to prophecy when, a full millennium before the birth of Jesus, he gives praise to the God who “sent redemption to his people.” In summation, the Psalmist praises the LORD’s name, which is “holy and revered forever.” So let saint and sinner rejoice together, knowing that “whosoever shall call upon the name of the LORD shall be saved.” [Romans 10:13] Let all who seek wisdom reverence God’s name. Let all who seek understanding “do his commandments.” Let all who seek happiness enter into that praise which “endureth for ever.” T. Robinson Ahlstrom"
"@Brian, 2 Thessalonians 1:8-9 is for those who willfully refuse to accept the truth, and obey God. It is not for those who actually have not been preached to, as Romans 10:13-21. One has to be taught and refuse to obey, just like those mentioned Romans 10:21. God is just, and He has prepared a resurrection for the just and another resurrection for the unjust. But the dead in Christ come ahead of both resurrections, Acts 24:15; 1 Thessalonians 4:16. And there will be a time, when those who have not heard the gospel during their lifetime will be taught, and given choice to make for themselves, sometime during the apocalypse. So let’s trust God’s love and mercy shall also prevail with her. God bless you."
"1. This is a beautiful parable of forgiveness after repentance (Romans 10:13), for a person needing salvation and (1 John 1:9) for a person who is already saved.; 2. This parable also gives Christian parents that have witness our children being saved at a young age and bringing them up in the nurture and admonition of the lord (Ephesians 6:4) and have to try to create a godly environment in the home a much needed inspiration; 3. Enrolling our children in a good Christian school and being active in a good bible believing church enhances this godly environment; 4. This is important because we as parents need to recognize our children as an investment not only for our good, but for their good future here on earth and for all eternity; 5. Proverbs 22:6 tells us to bring up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart far from it; 6. This is the advantage that believers who have created an environment as I have described above have over believers and non-believers that have not or do not participate in bringing up a child the way they should go according to God\'s holy word; 7. This father most obviously did bring up both boys in the nurture and admonition of the lord to get results like this; 8. A life time of being faithful to God\'s truth came home to roost; 9. God always honors faithfulness in being obedient to his holy scriptures, commandments, precepts, principals, and statutes; 10. It is never too late to get started, but the longer we wait the more difficult it can be; 11. Earlier is better than later, but later is better than never. "
"Looking for truths, What does Jesus the person we are to follow closely in footsteps have to say about it? (John 14:28) “If YOU loved me, YOU would rejoice that I am going my way to the Father, because the Father is greater than I am.” It can’t be that they are equal with one saying the other is greater right? Matthew 26:39, “Going a little farther he [Jesus Christ] fell on his face and prayed, ‘My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as thou wilt.’” (If the Father and the Son were not distinct individuals, such a prayer would have been meaningless. Jesus would have been praying to himself, and his will would of necessity have been the Father’s will). John 8:17, 18, “[Jesus answered the Jewish Pharisees:] In your law it is written that the testimony of two men is true; I bear witness to myself, and the Father who sent me bears witness to me.” (So, Jesus definitely spoke of himself as being an individual separate and distinct from the Father). Looking for truths, God’s name and who He is is huge! Jesus our teacher knew this and gave ALL credit to his Father Jehovah. Through Jehovah ALL things are possible, without Him nothing is possible. The translators of the New Testament translated without any desire to add human doctrines. They only wanted the truth. And even if God’s name did get in His book more than in the original, what would be better, knowing His name or taking His name out and not knowing His name? I think it’s better to let the Bible translate the Bible. What does all of it say . . . Romans 10:13, For “everyone who calls on the name of Jehovah will be saved.”"
"Dan...these scriptures should answer your question. 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
"(This is my response to Ciscokid\'s comment dated 8/14/2013 at 12:12am on Romans Chapter 10): Whatever kind of letter it was or to whoever it was addressed that question has no substance in knowing the process of salvation. It was clearly stated in Romans 10:13 that, \"WHOEVER shall CALL upon the NAME of the Lord shall be SAVED\".. While Romans 10:14-17 stated the process of salvation backward before you can call the name of the Lord and be saved and that is to \"believe what you\'ve heard from a preacher who was sent to preach the gospel of peace by hearing the word of God so that faith shall come to you. (Simple)."
"Verse 15 says a lot about the grace of God. Truly none of us could carry the yoke that is a complete life of fulfilling all of God\'s laws. That\'s why God sent His Son Jesus to live the law completly and die blameless so that whosoever calls upon His name will be saved (Romans 10:13). He raised Him from the dead to show that Christ\'s fulfillment was pleasing to God the Father. Right now, if you are an unbeliever, the yoke of imperfetion is on your shoulders, but if you call on the name of Jesus Christ for forgiveness, the yoke is transferred to His shoulders. In turn you gain His righteousness. When God sees you, He sees sin that He must punish, but when you have Jesus in your heart, all God sees when He looks at you is His Beloved Son. I pray that if you do not know Jesus Christ, that you may recieve understanding of this great news from God!"
"To: Albert\'s Acts Chapter 26 comment about verse 14 on 9/11/2013, 12:31pm... The name \"Jesus\" is from the Greek for the Hebrew \"Jeshua\"(Joshua) which means \"the Lord is salvation\". Matthew 1:21 says, \"And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call His name JESUS: for He shall save His people from their sins.\" John 3:17 \"For God sent not His son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved.\" Acts 4:12 \"Neither is there salvation is any other: for there is none other name under Heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.\" Romans 10:13 \"Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.\" Jesus was not the leader of the Nazarenes, He IS the only begotten Son of God. His Kingdom is not from here and because His Kingdom is not from here, His own people did not accept Him as their King when He was here on earth. In touching your reference to Revelation 17:2, you must read on to Revelation 17:5 which says, \"And upon her forehead was a name written, \'MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.\'\" (the false religious system that is put in place after the church is raptured up into Heaven). May God teach you through His Holy Spirit and bring you to Him through His Son, Jesus Christ."
"(Verse 1) \"I love the Lord because he hears and answers my prayers.\" Didn\'t Paul say in Philippians 2:11 that Jesus is Lord.\" And didn\'t Paul say in Romans 10:13 that anyone who calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved?\" And didn\'t Paul say in verses 9-10 that we must confess with our mouth and believe in our hearts that what he says about Jesus is true. I will say this plainly. Jesus is the personality of God that heard the prayers of David. And he is the same personality of God who hears us today. And if we do not admit this we can have no slvation. If you do not understand this, ask Jesus to help you, and he will. He says plainly in John 14:6 that he is \"the way\" God saves us. Then he says that we should not try to bypass him to get to God\'s other personality, the Father. Because if we do, such prayers will not be answered. To back this up, he says in Matthew 28, \"Come to me, all you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I (Jesus) will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle, and you will find rest for your sould. For my yoke fits perfectly, and the burden I give you is light.\" The Book of John (John 1:1) speaks of Jesus being with the Father from the beginning. That means that in addition to Jesus, God has two other personalities: The Father and the Holy Spirit. Your personality is the way you express yourself. This means that the Father is the way God expresses himself when he makes decisions, as in \"the Father sends the Son.\" The Holy Spirit is the way God expresses himself when he inspires us to believe, as in \"he will tell you about me.\" But Jesus is the way God expresses himself when he speaks to us, as in \"I am the way.\" God blesses those who believe on the Son!"
"I don 't pretend to have all the answers, like some do, and I 'm not going to twist Gods word to suit my beliefs, I fear GOD to much.Faith and obedience should work hand in hand with each other, it is this faith and obedience and the power of the Holy Spirit that brings us to our Savior, and belief in Him, this is the first step to Salvation, believing in your heart, and confessing with your mouth, that Jesus is Lord, Acts 16:31-- And they said, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. And again: Romans 10:13--For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. The point I 'm making to you! is there are some who twist Gods word and spread heretical lies, that are in denial of Gods Holy word and of this sort beware! II Corinthians 11: 14 And no marvel, for satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Verse " 15--Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness, whose end shall be according to there works. AMEN!!"
"Good works alone will not get us to heaven, in fact works has nothing to do with salvation. We are saved by God's grace alone. Salvation is a free gift from the Lord, and our works after that are our choice-though God does expect us to live by the book. Because of our sin, we are separated from God. For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23 The Penalty for our sin is death. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23 The penalty for our sin was paid by Jesus Christ! But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8 If we repent of our sin, then confess and trust Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, we will be saved from our sins! For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Romans 10:13 ...if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Romans 10:9,10"
"Lenetra - you don't 'pray' for forgiveness; you 'do' acts 2:38 - just as Peter said. then you can pray for the infilling of the Holy Ghost - which is evidenced by God taking over your tongue and speaking through you. Romans 10:13 was to an already established church of saints that had already done Acts 2:38. be sure to read Rom. 10:14 - "....without a preacher"? Heb. 10:25."

"JJ "Let the weak say I AM Strong!!!" -Joel 3:10. Be Strong. Hanging yourself may make "them" sad for awhile, but hanging yourself will NOT make anybody repent. Why should they??? JESUS CHRIST LIVES. JJ, it is you who must repent (THINK AGAIN!!!). Romans 10:13 Teaches You "For whosoever shall call upon the Name of the Lord shall be SAVED." Romans 10:13 does NOT teach you: For whosoever shall call upon the Name of the Lord shall commit suicide. In your reply you called on the Mighty Name of the Lord. Evidently you DID NOT understand what We wrote. Understand this: Revelation 1:18 "I Christ am He that was dead; and BEHOLD! I AM ALIVE FOREVERMORE, Amen; AND I HAVE THE KEYS OF HELL AND DEATH!!!""
"The Bible teaches both GOD,S sovereignty in electing sinners to salvation (John 6:44,Romans 8:29 and Ephesians 1:4.and we are commanded to evangelize and spread the gospel(Matthew 28:16-20)Why evangelize if we are predestined?Because we were commanded to do so.I believe the gospel is Preached mostly to the believer anyway .Because the unbeliever does not want hear what you are saying any way.It is totally the work of GOD. There is away I believe,to embrace predestination, and election without having our hands bound by it,when it comes to evangelism. For scripture teaches both sovereign election and necessity of evangelizing.Paul addressed this issue in (Romans 10:13-15).R.C.Sproul commented on that passage;GOD not only foreordains the end of salvation for the elect,He also foreordains the means to that end.We are called to share the gospel and to respond in faith and obedience. So you see evangelism is still necessary in light of GOD,S sovereignty in salvation for two reasons:(1)GOD has commanded us to do it.(2)This is GOD,s chosen means of advancing His kingdom on earth. We have that privilege of being used by GOD to accomplish HIS will. What a blessing to by to bless others with the words of the BREAD OF LIFE. The apostle Paul was sent by the LORD to preach the gospel to JEW and Gentile. That by hearing they might believe, and so call on the name of the LORD and be saved. But there can be no true calling upon GOD without faith no faith without hearing no hearing without preaching and no preaching without a divine calling.Every man calls upon the god he believed in.And those that do not believe in GOD and Christ do not call on them. How shall they believe in him whom they have not heard;meaning that there is no faith in Christ without hearing of Him.There may be believing without seeing, but not believing without hearing."
"Rich, I think there are many believers who at one point or another have had that same feeling of doubt about their salvation. I know I have. Is it possible that you are trying to deal with your circumstances on your own, and not trusting in the Lord? Once a person receives Christ, they need to be mended. We come to the Lord broken, and we call out to Him to save us, and to mend us. Our past will never leave us. It will always be stuck in the cortex of our brain. But we have to trust Christ. Being mended is a lifetime process my friend. But Christ will mend you. You just have to trust Him. There are some things you said that stand out. You say you don't feel you have that closeness with the Lord that you used to have, your prayers feel like they are not getting through, and don't feel saved. You used the word "feel" three times. Those are fleshly terms, not spiritual. Feelings are human senses and emotions. How do you feel Spirit? You can't feel Spirit. Whether or not you "feel" saved, you're still saved. You don't have to feel anything to know you are saved. If you truly from your heart called out to the Lord to come into your life, and to save you, His promise in Romans 10:13 is that He promised to save you. As far as your prayers getting through, if you ask anything according to His will (Not yours), that prayer will always be answered. Listen to this, cut it out and put it on your refrigerator if you need to: Prayer is the means by which you express your submission to God's will in whatever you are asking Him for, and knowing that He will always answer that prayer. Whether or not you feel saved, you are. Christ is in you (If you received Him). He will never leave you. You are eternally secure in Him. All you have to do is trust Him. You're relationship with Jesus Christ will never change. You might break fellowship with Him, but you can call out to Him to restore that any time. But your relationship as a child of God will never change! Salvation is eternal!"
"There is only one place in the bible that specifically gives us the purpose for tongues, and that is 1 Corinthians 14:22. Acts Chapter 2 is a perfect example of the proper use of "tongues." Unfortunately, the church today does not conform to the biblical use of speaking in tongues. Many today are in total violation of 1 Cor. 14:22. The tongues that are being taught today are not the tongues of the bible. The verses you have shared make no mention at all about tongues being the evidence that a believer has received the Holy Ghost or Holy Spirit. When a person receives Christ, they receive His Spirit. If we are trusting God's promise to give us His Spirit when we call out to Him to save us, why would we need evidence? Wouldn't seeking for evidence be the same as not trusting God to fulfill His promise to give us His Spirit? If we require evidence of our salvation, then how can we say we have faith? God's promise in Romans 10:13 is that all who call upon Him shall be saved. That is His promise. He gives us His Spirit. Without His Spirit, there is no salvation, and we are given that in Romans 8:9. You mentioned Acts 2:38 which is a great verse to show that those who repent are promised God's Spirit. That is all we are promised to receive. Many people today are being deceived by the teachings on "tongues" which is causing them to doubt their salvation because they are being told that tongues is the evidence of their salvation. There are three point-blank facts about speaking in tongues that the bible gives us. Number one: It is a known language. Not necessarily known to the person speaking, but it is a human language. Number two: It is a sign. Number three: It is to unbelievers, not believers."
"Jon, I am going to assume that by you saying you really want to be saved that you are not saved now? I don't know if that is a correct assumption or not, but if you have not yet called upon the Lord Jesus Christ for His mercy, and ask for Him to come into your heart and save you, you need to do so if you truly are seeking salvation. Anyone can say the words "Jesus is Lord" with their mouth, but calling out to Christ to save you needs to come from the heart. There is no magic formula that I can share with you on how to be saved other than telling you to call out to Christ. You need to receive Him. He has promised to save anyone who comes to Him asking for forgiveness and mercy (Romans 10:13). As for the drug issue, there are professional agencies probably where you live that can help you with this issue, but you need to seek the help. However, the main concern is for your spiritual welfare. That must come first. Please call out to Jesus Christ to come into your life. Cast all your cares on Him. Everything else will work itself out in His timing. We serve a very powerful Savior who is able to take on all of our troubles, no matter how big or small."
"Hebrews 12:25 and 1 Corinthians 10:13 are the strongest scriptures for not committing suicide. If one is going to throw their lives away, why not give that life to Jesus? Give your life to Him, and take Jesus's Life so you can live. Call on Jesus and receive help. 1 Corinthians 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a WAY TO ESCAPE, that ye may be able to bear it. 1 Corinthians 3:16-17 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? Ecclesiastes 7:17 Be not over much wicked, neither be thou foolish: why shouldest thou die before thy time? Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. James 4:7-10 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Romans 14:7 For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 1 John 1:9 - If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. John 16:33 - These things I have spoken unto you, that IN ME you might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. Proverbs 8:36 But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death. "Corona Virus must bow it's knee to the Name of Jesus. Build your faith on Gods Word. Know your authority. That is your sword: Ephesians 6 Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is NONE OTHER NAME under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Philippians 2:9-11 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: John 14:13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in MY NAME, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. Luke 10:17 And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy NAME. Acts 4:30 By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the NAME of thy holy child Jesus. Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the NAME of the Lord shall be saved. Matthew 1:21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. 1 Corinthians 6:11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the NAME of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God. Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the NAME of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Mark 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In MY NAME shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; Jeremiah 10:6 Forasmuch as there is none like unto thee, O LORD; thou art great, and thy NAME is great in might. "Page 1. The Lord bless you Richard. Your words were very gracious & well thought through & I can see the dilemma that is before us when we consider that there are those who have lived carefully also showing love to others in their lives & not committing some dreadful sin. Or even others who have been engulfed in deception or waylaid by false teachers, never having the chance to receive knowledge of the Truth. These are indeed sad situations for which we aren't privy to the actions of God with them. We are tasked to share the Good News, the Spirit often directing us to the one who has been ordained to Life, even as Romans 10:13,14 clearly teaches us. Each person through the ages has had to give an account of himself to God. For the Jew, his obedience to the Law was where his salvation lay, but the Law rather showed him that he failed in his obedience & that repentance & sacrifice was required. Even though the offering of the blood of bulls & goats could never secure God's forgiveness, his coming with a contrite heart, true sorrow for sin, & faith in a merciful God, secured him forgiveness & acceptance. Thus the Hebrews writer demonstrates this in chapter 11 that God looked for faith as the essence for acceptability. "And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise: God having provided SOME BETTER THING FOR US, that they without us should not be made perfect." (Heb 11:39,40)."
"Hi Ethan, The Bible tells us that the Lord is patient, merciful and wants all of us to come to repentance. He does not want any of us to perish. (2 Peter 3:9) He desires "all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth." (1 Timothy 2:4). It doesn't matter what you have done in the past, or how you may have rejected him previously - He is ready and willing to save you. We have ALL sinned in the past. For many years I was an atheist and utterly rejected God - but He found me and saved me. The Apostle Paul was a persecutor of Christians - and yet God saved him. Pray to Him, confessing your sins and asking for his mercy and salvation and then turn away from those sins. Confess that He is Lord, and start following Him and living your life for Him. Romans 10:13: "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.""
"My personal belief is that one can pray to both God & His Son Jesus Christ. Even though I generally address God my Father in prayer, I also find that I can speak to Jesus, to thank Him & praise Him. Why I say this is because in our new relationship with the Godhead, God is our Father & Jesus is our Brother. Just as one would seek the help & advice from an earthly father & maybe the understanding & support of an earthly brother, we can even see God & His Son in a similar way, praying to them, praising them, & seeking help. And we should also be able to pray to the Holy Spirit residing in us, especially in those times of trial & testing or for strength & comfort. As well, we see in Scripture that people prayed to Jesus. You can look at these verses: 1 Corinthians 1:1,2 (calling upon the Lord Jesus' Name); 2 Corinthians 12:8,9 (Paul's thorn in the flesh); John 9:38 (Jesus was worshipped); Revelation 5:8-13 (Jesus worshipped in Heaven as God is); Acts 7:59; Acts 9:6 & many more. And No, you don't need to speak in other tongues to experience re-birth. Re-birth is effected by God's Spirit as soon as you realize that you're a sinner & that the only hope of your forgiveness & salvation is by coming to the Cross of Christ where He gave His Life in your place. Once you repent of your sins, calling upon the Name of the Lord (Romans 10:13), God hears your prayer (because it was He by His Spirit that drew you to this point of anguish & need to be saved). And 'all who come to Him He will in no wise cast away, or reject' (John 6:37). God then indwells you by His Spirit making you a new woman with a clean heart with new & holy desires to please Him with your life. His Spirit also gives us gifts, some to speak with new tongues, & other gifts (1 Corinthians 12:7-11. Also see verses 28-31), but to speak in other languages is not a requirement or proof of your rebirth experience & of the Holy Spirit in you. A changed life, heart, will & true love for all, characterize a Christian."
"Clarence, What sweet questions! To be saved is to be reconciled to God. In our present state, we are at enmity with God. God is perfect and God is just, we are sinners and fallen. But God devised a way for us to be brought back into a relationship with Him: Romans 5:9-10: 9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. 10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. You are saved by acknowledging your sin and its penalty: All have sinned: Romans 3:23: For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God The Penalty for sin is death: Romans 6:23: For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Acknowledging that Jesus Christ died to pay for your sins. Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Repenting for your sins: Luke 13:3: I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. - That is a promise. Just tell God that you are a sinner, in need of salvation...and that you believe Jesus Christ died for you and that you want to repent of your sins and that you want Him to save you. I will be praying for you Clarence! Dear Lord, please grant Clarence the clarity needed to come to you. Thank you that he is searching Lord, and thank you for giving Him the courage to ask these questions. I pray that he will be saved Lord, and that he will be able to rejoice in that salvation. In Jesus' name...Amen."
"Emma, Romans 10:13 says, "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." It doesn't say might be saved, but will be saved. It is God's promise to those who truly call upon the Lord and surrender their life to Him. If you have not done so already, please ask Jesus Christ to come into your life. He will give you His Spirit (Holy Spirit), and His Spirit will lead and guide you into all truth and understanding. God Bless you!!!"
"Corey, Romans 10:13 says, "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." That's a promise. You call out to Him and cry out to Him for mercy and to save you, and He will do it, period! John 1:12 says, "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:" Personally, I like to use the word receive instead of accept, as it says in John 1:12. To accept just means to mentally agree with what Christ did for you. A person must receive Jesus Christ!"
"Verses, Yes, Jesus died not only for your sins but for the sins of the whole world, again given to us in 1 John 2:2. John 1:12 says, "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:" Even though Christ died for our sins, a person must still receive Him in order to be saved. I don't like to use the words "accept Christ" because to me, accept just means to mentally agree with what Jesus did for us. A person has to literally receive Jesus Christ. The entire salvation process is designed by God, from start to finish. Man plays no part in salvation other than surrendering their life to Jesus Christ. A person cannot save his/herself. The only thing we have to contribute to salvation is the sin from which we need to be saved from. I hope I'm not making this confusing for you? If I may ask you, have you received Christ? Have you confessed your sin to Him and called upon His name (Romans 10:13) for Him to have mercy on you and come into your life? Have you been born of His Spirit? (John 3:3, John 1:13, John 3:6) Surrendering one's life to Christ is the most important decision one will ever have to make!"
"Dear Sir, My heart aches with you at this time. I am so sorry that you have lost the love of your life. God promises to comfort and help you, if you know Christ Jesus as your Lord and Savior and he always keeps his promises. *Nothing or no one can separate you from His love (Romans 31:39). He is the God of all comfort (2 Corinthians 1:3-4). He heals the brokenhearted (Psalm 147:3). He promises to help you & uphold you by his mighty power (Isaiah 41:10, 13). His help is present & abundantly available and He will never leave nor abandon you (Psalm 46:1; Hebrews 13:5-6). He gives extra strength when we are weary (Isaiah 40:26-31). May you trust in Him and rely upon his promises. Love in Christ, Mrs. Curley Manning Salvation Scriptures: there is none righteous, no not one (Romans 3:10). all have sinned and fall short of God's glory (Romans 3:23). the wages of sin is death, but God's gift is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 6:23). whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved (Romans 10:13)."
"Good day to you my brother Earl. As I also enjoyed reading of your post of Scriptures put together. A couple interesting things the Holy Spirit has led me to today studying the Scriptures. One thing just interesting was that is was a "sin", or not allowed, for a high priest to rend his clothes. Leviticus 21:10. As the high priest is said to have done in Mark 14:63. On a more divine note that in the OT in Joel 2:32 stating "whosoever shall call upon the name of the LORD shall be delivered/saved". Speaking of YHWH Almighty God. In Romans 10:13 almost the same words though now speaking of Christ. John 10:30, Have a Blessed day brother Earl."
"Hello Lex, You have been given some pretty sound biblical advice here. If I might add, Hebrews 6:4-6 is not talking about a born again believer losing salvation as salvation cannot be lost. I would like to also share with you what I get from Mark 9:24, the verse you shared. I'm glad you brought this verse up. It says, "And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief." Nowhere in the Bible does it challenge someone to come up with their own faith so that Jesus can perform in your life. That's the cry of a person. I believe, but Lord Help my unbelief because I can't believe. Only God can give me that. Help my unbelief! It is always the strong point in a person's life when they can approach the Lord, even as a nonbeliever, even if you don't understand the things of God, you can still approach Him and say "Lord, if you are real, make yourself real to me!" I mean, even a nonbeliever, somebody who doesn't believe in God, they are asking God to do it all because they realize their human inability to figure Him out. If you have ever looked at the awesomeness of an electrical storm, you can just sense that there is an awesome God behind all of this because this is just a drop in the bucket compared to the universe. But how are you going to find God? How are you going to know about Him? You know, when you come to Him and say, help my unbelief, I am empty, magnify yourself to me, show yourself to me, because I don't have the ability to know, and He reaches down to those people to manifest Himself. If you have truly called out to the Lord to save you, His promise is that He will do so (Romans 10:13). And once you are saved, your salvation can never be lost!"
"**AMEN** praise God!!!"
"You can not earn your way to heaven. That is the same as buying it, really. If you could have there would have been no need for Jesus to die. We would all just work our way there. It just isn't so. My Bible tells me so, sir. That is no different than what Muslims believe. They blow themselves up believing they've earned their way. We should not love our lives even unto death but that isn't what saves us. Only the finished work of Jesus can do that."
"You cannot earn your way to heaven. That is not biblical! The work of Jesus on the cross is a finished work and nothing can be added to it. On the cross Jesus said "it is finished". God's grace to is is so that no man can boast...no man can earn heaven. It is a free gift."
"But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord."
"I did today and I was saved"
"Reagrdless of what we have done (In my opinion only) God loves us and Jesus Longs to SEE US ALL SAVED!"
"So true, but do not forget to read the rest of Jesus's words in the scriptures, like at Mark 16:16, where He says,"He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved. ""
"We don't earn our way to heaven, it's a free gift through Jesus Christ our Saviour. All we do is ask Christ for forgiveness and accept Christ as our Saviour. Christ has already paid the price for us. Once we are one of our Saviour's, we no longer want the sins of this world but we live and long to serve him. We go forth and tell the gospel to everyone. That is what He did while he was upon this earth. As a servant of Christ Jesus, we are to tell others about the gift of salvation so that they also will know Christ Jesus as their Saviour. Praise God from Whom all blessings flow."
"A verse we all should hold dearly and memorize. One of the greatest verses for soulwinning! Just that one verse makes someone realize how easy God made it for us to be saved. After one does that God will start convicting them to separate from the world and live a Godly life."
"Amen! yhanks be to GOD!"
"Brad Garday....you don't earn your way to heaven. ..It is a free gift and Christ did this for all when He took the sins of the whole world on Him upon the cross over 2000 years ago. We have to ask for forgiveness and accept His gift of eternal life. That's why He died, was buried, rose again on the third day, and ascended into Heaven and sits on the throne at the right hand of His Father. One day He is coming back to take us with Him. What a day of rejoicing that will be. I don't say this to be judgmental or critical but for the love of Christ God bless all and I pray people will come to know Christ as their personal Saviour through these comnents."
"I just quoted this to someone today! WOW!"
"If they truly asked Jesus in their heart"
"Read the hole bible like i am doing, you will be amazed what you lern"
"That is divine truth and is what God wants for all his ppl. praise him who is able to save and give eternal life."
"This is the verse my preacher read to me when I got saved."
"You cannot just call on the name and be saved. you also have to believe in him."
