  • David Mensah-Gbekor on Revelation 20:9 - 11 years ago
Revelation 20:9 talks about the church. Most people think the church is the bride of Christ. Emphatically, No. The church entirely is not the bride of Christ. A portion of the church is the Bride of Christ. Revelation 20:9 talks about all saved Christians (born again). But it reveals two places. The Camp of the Saints and the Beloved City. The Beloved City is the Bride of Christ. The Camp of the Saints are saved Christians (born again). What does it take to move from the camp of the saints when you become born again to the Beloved City. FOOD FOR THOUGHT.
  • Tim Stark on Revelation 20 - 11 years ago
In my opinion not one of us human beings has a definite answer to anything in the Bible, (God is not telling human beings everything for a reason), if humans had all the answers then there would be no need for us here on earth as long as we are in the flesh. If I am not mistaken, somewhere in Revelation, it says that man will never be at total peace with one another while we are of the flesh. Why don't we all stop talking and through physical gestures, and help each other until we can get out of these garbage mind and bodies that God gave us? Amen!
  • JAMIE MIRANDA on Revelation 20:12 - 11 years ago
I am confused. I thought we were not to be judged for our works but by our faith in our Lord Jesus Christ the son of God, and that he died for our sins on the cross. I understand our works should reflect our love of Christ and our life in Him but that none of us gets into heaven by our works.
  • Troy on Revelation 20:12 - 11 years ago
Everyone is writing a book and they will be judged by their works. Everyone has had a vision dream or day vision and then seen it come to pass. That is because we were all made in the image of GOD. and He poured out his spirit in Acts 2, and is still doing so today. So the books will be in real time visual on judgment day. If you can read a story and see the story line in your mind, then you know how you book is going to be displayed.
  • Dave on Revelation 20:14 - 11 years ago
First, one must separate death from hell in Revelation 20:14 to understand why it mentions both. First, Death covers those which lived on earth without considering God or acknowledging Him. Secondly, Hell covers those who like the rebellious angels who were cast out of heaven because they were not in agreement wanted to tell God how to run things.
  • John on Revelation 20 - 11 years ago
Jesus Christ shed his blood, for every ones Salvation. It is only through Jesus Christ that we _may_ have everlasting life.
Live for the prize not a false punishment. God offers eternity through Christ our Lord.
  • Kennygross on Revelation 20 - 11 years ago
If you would go back and read Revelation
(20:11-15). Wheather great or small you will face
GOD before the great white throne. And your jugdement will be made through truth and rightiousness. GOD knows right where you are and he knows what you have done good or bad. If you have'nt repented from your evil deeds you need to do it now. If you have'nt received Jesus Christ as LORD and SAVIOR of your life you need to do it now. Nomore waiting these are the last days and if you don't want to be left behind repent if you are backslidden. Nomore running nomore trying to hide it. GOD knows all things, sees all and he is in all. Even you so let go and let GOD.

  • Sid Williams on Revelation 20:7 - 11 years ago
You have been deceived by the Pope. There are no textual words, "are expired." Daniel describes Millennium -- to ever-- 7.27. I am a resident of New Jerusalem and thousand years. Also "when" ( Rev. 20.7) is actually, "with" (meta). I have only Bible translation with "real words." The Pope and the Antichrist Jews have their hooks in you.
  • Glenn on Revelation 20 - 12 years ago
This chapter lets us know that there is no secret rapture. If we don't make our decision now while the holy Spirit is move in our lives now, there will be no second chance when Jesus take his bride to heaven!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Eddy thank on Revelation 20 - 12 years ago
i always pray that i may not be among those who
would be cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet [are], and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.ever and foreverrrrrrrrrrr.
  • Garyloyd on Revelation 20 - 12 years ago
Satan is just a man with a full pattern. Super wicked man who once was the Angel who Guarded the Mercy Seat. Satan was one of Gods good Angels until pride got to him and greed, sin. When he is let out after 1000 years he will just be a liar man with no acting roll to fool anyone but even then some will follow him into the fire of death.
  • Itsme Thistime on Revelation 20 - 12 years ago
The 1,000 years is speaking of "The Lord's day" ( II Peter 3:8 tells us a day with the Lord is as a thousand years with man) and is a time of teaching for those who missed the mark in this earth-age(flesh bodies). Christ and His Zadok (elect, just, upright) will be teaching those on the wrong side of the gulf in heaven ( Luke 16, referred to as prison, you could call it "a holding place" for those who are not on the same side of the gulf as Abraham, or the right side of the gulf). Ezekiel 44 better discribes this aspect of the millinium, remember it doesn't happen until Christ steps foot on the earth to establish his Kingdom, at the 7th trump, and we are all transfigured into our spiritual bodies. At the end of the millinium will be the Great White Throan judgement, which is the final judgement, and the begininning of the third and eternal earth(heaven)-age. Your acts which are written in the book of life determine which side of the gulf you go to when you die.
  • Susan Dalton on Revelation 20:9 - 12 years ago
"And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them... And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea... And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:"
    ( Revelation 20:9; 21:1,3)

"...And we shall reign on the earth." ( Revelation 5:10)

There will be a final roll back. A roll back in political science is the annhilating of the enemy army, the replacing of its regime, and the occupying of its country.

Satan will seek his roll back. "And it was given unto him to make war with the saints and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world." ( Revelation 13:7-8)

Satan will put in place his regime. ( Revelation 13) He will occupy the earth.

Yet, God will have the final roll back. "...Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, and shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, God and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea. And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them. And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever...( Revelation 20:7-10)

"...And we shall reign on the earth..."

Jesus said, "I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending." ( Revelation 1:8)

The final roll back will be by God.
  • Dora on Revelation 20:15 - 12 years ago
I think that any himan concieved of a woman, that has ever been or will be until satin is loosed for a short season, are in Heaven now. When Jesus comes again,it will be the Great White Throne Judgement, and then if you are written in the Lambs book of life, or have lived a life of righteousness and not received the mark of the beast, you will go to Heaven, if not you will go where satin is for all eternity.
  • Ranman on Revelation 20:5 - 12 years ago
Don's comment is correct and incorrect. He is correct about the addition in the first part of v.5--the rest of the dead are resurrected at the beginning of the 1000 year reign of Christ.
His comment regarding there being no 1000 years in the future, because it has already happened, is incorrect. The 1000 year reign of Christ is marked by:
    1. Beast of Rev 13 being cast into Lake of Fire ( Rev 19:20; Dan 7:11)
    2. 1st Resurrection of believing Saints ( Dan 12:2-3; 1 Cor 15:50-55; 1 Thes 4:13-17; etc...)
    3. satan being put in prison ( Rev 20:1-3; Isa 24:21-22)
    4. Saints judging during 1000 years ( Rev 20:4-6; Ps 149)
These are but a few examples of Scripture that say otherwise.
    Send Him back soon, Father.

  • Brian on Revelation 20 - 13 years ago
It never ceases to amaze me at how many people you hear on these type of forums think that they have all the answers. The Bible is no ordinary book that you can pick up and read like it was a dime store novel. The Bible was spiritually written and it is spiritually discerned. The reason for this is that our fleshly bodies couldnt handle all of the power that is in the bible. The most important thing that we all should know and understand is Jesus said no man comes to the father but by me. And I do mean PERIOD.....
  • CRIS on RevelATion 20 - 13 years ago
Hi Don! 1000 years has not yet to come, if it so, then you mean the devil or the satan was loose in his prison after Lord resurrection??? that is trully wrong please read carefully Apo. 20:5-7... kaanib
  • Don on RevelATion 20:5 - 13 years ago
the first part of the verse is added and the 1000 years took place after christ was crucified
there is no 1000 years to come
  • George Strickland on Revelation 20:7 - 13 years ago
The people born in the Millennium will be real people with body, soul and spirit. Does it not stand to reason that they too will have to make a deliberate decision to serve God of their own volition as Adam and Eve, and all mankind, have?
That choice is not available during the Millenium, is it?
  • Dwayne on Revelation 20 - 13 years ago
There is a Heaven to gain and a Hell to shun!! If you can't beleive there is a Hell then how can you believe there's a Heaven. You take the word of God for a whole or nothing you cant add and you cant take anything away! Everyone has there belief, and doctorine, I pray to God he opens our eyes to see the true meaning of these things. But let me tell you if you mislead those that dont understand with your doctrines that is not correct then read the word of God there blood is on your hands!! And if you take away from Gods word or add to it then all the plagues written in this book will be added to you!! May God Bless you!

    FYI,

As I learned to my teacher and i believe is true, HELL is not yet existing, hence it just coming ( rev. 20:9-10). This present earth we use to live WILL be the same place or will be the lake of FIRE or HELL.. So all those who will be not be included in the book of life will be trown to the lake of fire (Present Earth) which is the HELL and all those will be saved in the jugment will inherit the promise land ( NEW EARTH ) or the paradise... for more info or question you may log on to our website ((Link) werein you can watch and ask any question with regard to bible scripture.... God Bless!!!!
  • Linda on Revelation 20 - 13 years ago
@ Roy you are absolutely right, there is really a hell. A woman here in my town died, she came back though. She said when she died she went to the gates of hell, they were big iron hot doors that she couldn't even touch and behind it she heard people screaming. She was given a second chance and returned back to her life. There are many people who think the bible is a fairy tale, well that's there problem. I had an epithany with Jesus and he showed me a small section of heaven, he does exist, and if this woman died and went to the gates of hell then this book is true. SO all you people that think this is bogus, that's your opinion, I used to think the same thing myself. Until I had my experience, and heard the hell gates story. When you receive the wisdom and knowledge from God is when this bible starts to really make sense. The only way you get that is through repenting. It is a known fact on this Earth that there are many here who say they know God but really he is far from their heart.
  • Jennifer Roth on Revelation 20 - 13 years ago
There is no true Greek word for hell. The origin of the word hell dates back to 700 AD or so and is actually comparative to Gehenna, not Hades. Hades is the grave and Gehenna was a deep, narrow Valley of Hinnom where Judean Kings Ahaz and Manasseh engaged in idolatrous worship, which included child sacrifices by fire to Ba'al. Later it became a place for mass disposal of dead bodies.

    Darren D,

I just now read your 2 comments, for which I was never notified. And no, you were not too harsh. :) I have studied off and on for over 14 years and am giving serious thought to becoming an unbaptized publisher myself. The bible is something that we must all study and sometimes I explain things well and sometimes I don't. I agree with your statement 100%. Thanks, Jen
  • Rmb on Revelation 20 - 13 years ago
a reader of the bible should also use reasoning when dealing with such a serious subject as hell. I also study with jw's and know for a fact that "hell" is a representation of everlasting death. those who are not writen in the book of life(non-believers) will be the ones who are eternally destroyed. If your still not convinced acts 2:27,31,32 says that jesus was raised from ha'des. this is to say the grave, not hell. how could god's son go to hell? use your logic when you read these things
  • CMD on Revelation 20 - 13 years ago
HELL IS A HOLDING PLACE BEFORE JUDGEMENT AND CASTING INTO LAKE OF FIRE. JUST LIKE A JOB YOU GET PAID OR FIRE FOR GOOD OR THE BAD WORK YOU MAY PERFORM ( ROMANS 6;23) THE STATE YOU DIE THE WHAT YOU JUDGE FROM ( EZEKIEL 18;24-29) THIS PROPHET SHOULD HELP ( ISAIAH 5;14) HELL STARTED JUST FOR SATAN AND FALLEN ANGELS THAT FOLLOW THE THING OF HIM SO IF MAN FOLLOW THE THING OF THE DEVIL TAKE A GUESS. BRIGHT SIDE OF THIS ( HEBREWS 11:1-2,6) (ST JOHN 3;1-9)( ACTS 2;38)AND FOR THE ROMANS6;7 COMMENT THAT REPENTANCE FROM YOU DON'T DO THE THING OF OLD KILLING OFF THE OLD NATURE OF SELF THE WALK IN NEWNESS OF LIFE SEEK GOD UNDERSTAND OF ROMANS 6. JESUS THE WAY ( ACTS 4;12) THE WORD IS GOD AND GOD IS HIM WORD TRUTH AND LIFE FOREVERMORE (ST JOHN 4;24)

  • ROY on Revelation 20 - 13 years ago
first i would like to say you have it wrong there is a hell the bible speaks more of hell than it does of heaven. the bible talks about the rich man in hell that he lift his eyes and said i am tormented in these flames {oh i know you are going to say this is just a metaphore are parable that JESUS or a fairy tell} hell was created for the devil and his angles that kept not thier first habitation and was thrown out of HEAVEN so the bible tell us to either believe on the son of GOD of Not its your choice hell will be brought forth with the dead and be judged by thier works and those that are not fount written in the LAMBS BOOK OF LIFE will be cast into hell and the last enemy that will be destroyed will be death and hell and cast into the lake of fire you don't have to believe what the bible says thats your choice you all can claim to be scholars and say the bible is wrong but I'll trust in GOD to be able to keep his word just like he wanted us to have it.
Just think what if the bible was wrong {and i know it is not} but just say what if and i when i die beliving that it was all right then what did i lose NOTHING but on the other hand you die not beliveing and find it is right just like it says what will you lose everthing HEAVEN
THE BIBLE SAYS WHAT WILL A MAN GIVE IN EXCHANGE FOR YOU SOUL
JESUS IS GOD'S ONLY BEGOTTEN SON WHO SOEVER BELIEVETH IN HIM HATH EVERLASTING LIFE
    THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
    I'M SAVED AND WAITING
