Revelation Chapter 19 Discussion

  • Robert Z on Revelation 19:20
Sometimes I feel so low-down and disgusted

Can't help but wonder what's happenin' to my companions

Are they lost or are they found?

Have they counted the cost it'll take to bring down

All their earthly principles they're gonna have to abandon?

Man's ego is inflated, his laws are outdated, they don't apply no more

You can't rely no more to be standin' around waitin'

In the home of the brave, Jefferson turnin' over in his grave

Fools glorifying themselves, trying to manipulate Satan

They say lose your inhibitions, follow your own ambitions

They talk about a life of brotherly love

Show me someone who knows how to live it

I don't care about economy, I don't care about astronomy

But it sure do bother me to see my loved ones turning into puppets

There's a slow, slow train comin' up around the bend

    Interesting discovery.

I'd take issue on your claiming that "All four gospels say the crucifixion occurred on a Friday." It was actually, "the Day of Preparation." Preparation for what Sabbath being that there was also Passover, a Sabbath.

There is ambiguity in Sabbath in that it us used both to describe the weekly Sabbath, the seventh day and the Passover Sabbath and the Day of Preparation.

During that era, they could do Passover on two consecutive days. Some say that Jesus' Passover meal with His disciples was the early Passover day. One of the things that we have to allow for is for the women to PREPARE spices...

"And he took it down, and wrapped it in linen, and laid it in a sepulchre that was hewn in stone, wherein never man before was laid. And that day was the preparation, and the sabbath drew on. And the women also, which came with him from Galilee, followed after, and beheld the sepulchre, and how his body was laid. And they returned, and prepared spices and ointments; and rested the sabbath day according to the commandment."Luk 23:53-56

Some think Wednesday, others Thursday and yet others that Friday was the day of Jesus' death. I lean toward Friday but think that there's a good case for Thursday. In a sense it's academic. My trust in Jesus is not the least linked to any particular day.

Thanks for sharing this interesting discovery.

I think you're right. I found it interesting that in their searching , they tied the event to an earthquake. The whole article is weighty with digs, discoveries, collaborations, etc.

Today I thought that Passover will be soon and people ask the same questions every year. Sometimes it's good for the secular crowd to hear that scientists try to prove the Bible wrong or woefully lacking. Not true anymore. They have proven with evidence that an asteroid killed the dinosaurs by fire or starvation with plant life gone. Only little chipmunks survived it. They were underground. Cool huh?

I appreciate the Bible online forum so much. I even wish there more of them. Most are for dating and small groups. I like the variety in KJB online. Why not a Pastors Online? I tell folks there are great FM radio ministries; 24 hrs a day.

One thing I've noticed recently, is that Goodwill has very few Bibles to resale. People are buying them! Now that's good news. 5 yrs ago I took all my old Bibles and Christian textbooks to Goodwill to get them in circulation. I can't wait to see new faces in our Bible online room, teaching me things the Holy Spirit showed them! He never tires of answering our questions.

I asked God one morning just before dawn broke: why do you feed the birds and cause people to buy tree food sticks to help trees be strong? This is what He said: The trees open their branches to praise Me, First, in the morning, and the birds adorn the trees and sing praises to me. The whole planet!

I'm sad sort of because I pull up at the coffee maker first, before I go outside to pray for the day ahead for all peoples. I'm no hotshot ex-evangelist. The birds and trees beat us to it every morning. The the moon says, no, I sat with God all night long. Round the clock, God is praised. :D

Let's turn up the Praise guys. We'll be with Him real soon.
  • What specifically is the"Mark of the beast"
  • P Selchow - in Reply on Revelation 19

An understanding of the answer to your questions requires a good bit of bible study. Scripture teaches us that God has a mark of authority. See Rev 7:3. God's seal, or mark of authority is his holy law (see Ex 20), which represents his character. Jesus said all of the law hangs on these 2: Love for God and love for fellow man (Mat 22:37-40). The first table of the ten commandment law represents love to God. The second table represents love for fellow man. God's character and kingdom are based on the law of love. (John 14:15). When we choose to keep God's law, which is also written in our hearts (Jer 31:33) we show the character of God, and also who's side we are on. These are the people who will be sealed (Rev 7:3). There is a great battle between good and evil, between Jesus Christ and his kingdom and satan and his followers. Simply, when we keep the law of God in our hearts, we have the seal of God (we are under his authority).

In contrast, Rev 13 tells us of the beast, also known as antichrist. Antichrist simply means someone who tries to take the place of Christ. (2 Thessalonians 2:4). This beast power (antichrist) also has his mark of authority- his counterfeit law. When we choose a counterfeit law over God's plainly written law, we can receive the mark of the beast (Rev 13:16). This mark is not some visible, outward mark such as a tattoo, but a show of a heart that has hardened to reject God's law, and instead accepts the law, or authority of the beast.

The seal of God, or the mark of the beast is a sign (not a visible sign) showing who we serve. It's what's in our heart and mind (forehead) or by our works and actions (on the hand).

Hope this helps. Please feel free to study more on the seal of God and his law. Once you have an understanding of that, understanding the mark of the beast becomes more clear. Once you study and find out who the beast is, you will understand clearly the mark. Happy studying.

  • The Mark of the Beast and RFID implants - in Reply on Revelation 19
I'm just going to make a comment on your points.

There are many people who attend church, who look like sheep, talk like sheep; even serve in the church; but they are far from God in their hearts for whatever reasons. It's sad but it happens.

The Mark of the Beast will be put on hands or foreheads.

Right now people are not getting flu shots or covid vaccines because they are afraid it changes the DNA that Almighty God CREATED.

The Antichrist will not allow anyone to buy or sell ANYTHING without His Mark on your person. He knows He's got you if you have His Mark. He's only going after the people who Don't have it.

Vaccines are given in the ARM.

Obama Care as first written and presented to the public, actually contained a section that clearly said all citizens with Obamacare must be implanted with RFID CHIPS. The public put up a massive outcry over it, it was re-written to explain RFID implanting is only at the patients request in cases of diabetes, constant heart monitoring and Pets. Everyone should read the Obamacare act online and know what it says: EVERY TIME ITS REVISED.

Many people have closed eyes and minds to some facts about this Administration in the White House. Obama said on a televised lament, that HE wished he could run for a 3rd Term. Finally The Democrats lie, cheat and steal the current President into office. Who in his first 100 days hopes to rescind everything President Trump did.

The first thing he has done is REASSEMBLE the OLD OBAMA DREAM TEAM. This behavior is very subversive and out in the open.

That is how the Antichrist is going to come on the scene. Brazen, Openly denouncing anyone who is Religious, Attends Church who names Jesus Christ as Savior, refuses funding the killing of unborn infants. Who rejects sodomy lifestyles being taught in elementary schools.

It's unpopular to follow Jesus Christ and Father God. He's against everything most politicians who routinely serve up lies.

    Revelation 13:16-18

    King James Version

16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:

17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.
  • Jesse - in Reply on Revelation 19
The mark is something a person has to receive either on their forehead or hand in order to buy or sell during the end times.

In order to receive the mark, a person has to first worship the antichrist. You cannot receive the mark without worshiping him.

Receiving the mark forfeits any hope of salvation.

When I pray, it is "Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus". There is one God. Not 3 persons. We must know our God & obey the gospel. "Hear 0 Israel, the Lord our God is one Lord". When the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels in flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God & that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. Who will be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his power.

  • Alex on Revelation 19
Comments by Alex about my thoughts on the parable of the Sower and his precious seed. Jesus said know ye not this parable how then will you know all Parables, Understanding this parable has to come from God self ,Jesus said that many righteous men and prophets have desired to see what you see and hear what you hear but saw them NOT. Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower. It ALL goes back to the great PROMISE OF MULTIPLICATION, THATS Y THE SOWER WILL GO FORTH TO SOW HIS PRECIOUS SEED, THAT HE MIGHT BE MULTIPLIED AS THE STARS OF HEAVEN IN US ( HUMANITY ) @ THE LAST DAY . The words of Wonder and the book that Daniel saw was SEALED till the last day. which is the book in the right hand of the Father that is sealed with 7 seals . God was so passionate about this GREAT PROMISE that he swore by his very self .There is no other PROMISE IN THE BIBLE where GOD swore by himself . Impling that he himself was gonna be multiplied as the stars of heaven. Thats y Jesus is saying to whom the WORD ( the seed of the Sower ) came it made them Gods, Thats what the H.G is the multiplication of God, and thats y Jesus refers to the H.G as the Promise he is the multiplication of Christ/GOD via that good seed the WORD of the Kingdom as Jesus said. Thus the essence of this parable is CHILD BIRTH A BABY CHRIST BORN IN US, Multiplication, Thats y Jesus said the GOOD SEED are the Children of the Kingdom.Jesus is gona multiply himself in us sinners That was the great PROMISE ( MULTIPLICATION ) Thus the need for a heavenly sower and his seed that results in a new heart and a new spirit, the NEW BIRTH which is a BABY Christ born in us that hear the word th seed of the sower th bridegroom. Thus an ISRAEL OF GOD BORN IS US VIA THE SEED OF CHRIST. Whosoever receiveth one such child in my name receiveth ME. the Kingdom has to come via a seed a birth when Isaiah saw the Kingdom coming he said unto US a child is born, unto us a Son is given,Thats the GOOD NEWS Christ is gona multiply himself in us .
  • Miss J. on Revelation 19
    Praise God Brethren,

Yes, I looked into the story of Moses to see how God called him to serve (he was simply living his normal life). I have been looking for a door to serve God and I don't know how to start. In 2005 God told me in a dream that IHe will cleanse, purify and uplift me and I will be His servant globally. He confirmed the dream in real life ( I asked Him to tell me in simple language if it was Him who spoke to me in a dream, and part of what I saw in that dream happened next day morning after asking. In that dream after God spoke, I saw smoke in a neighbours house and when I turned inside to rescue my belongings the smoke cleared. So, it happened in real life, I was called early morning a neighbours house burning (I saw that heavy smoke), I sent a sister I was staying with to go help while I went back in the house to turn off power. But 2 minutes she came back saying they managed to put down the fire. So I knew, It was Him who spoke to me.

Then a few years ago Jesus stood in the sky (in another dream that was like real), threw something like a small pen/cross glittering to me and when it entered me it was that, He has sent me to serve Him globally.

My question is, when will that be? How will I start as I am still looking for that door. I am now 53.

    Be blessed.
  • Chris - in Reply on Revelation 19
Miss J, I had a similar experience, minus the dream of a burning house, of where the Lord clearly spoke to me whilst in morning prayer about forsaking all to serve Him. As background info, I attended a small Fellowship of vibrant believers & who even from a small congregation, had sent out around twenty souls to serve in overseas mission work. So the challenge was ever before us from the pulpit: "what are you still doing sitting here - be up & moving out to serve!"

So, this then became a matter for much prayer. I was already engaged in open-air ministry in the city centre (styled around the work of Open Air Campaigners), doing tract distribution in my neighbourhood, & giving Bible studies. But in all this, the Lord had been quiet about overseas service. It was only after the Lord took home my Dad in 1985, that the word came to me very clearly in prayer at the end of 1987 about serving overseas & to do so with a particular Mission. I knew this was of the Lord, as he undertook for me in every way to achieve His Plan. He even sold my home for me in a few days, without me even mentioning it to anyone that I wanted to put it on the market!

Why I relate all this to you, is that the Lord knows your heart & your desire to serve Him. His child can do no better than to aspire to such a high calling: service to the King of kings. What are the ways you employ now to serve the Lord? Remember, often when those already labouring for Him are those whom He calls specifically. Where lies your interests? For some, the great ministry of prayer is their passion - others to be found serving even to the point of laying down their lives for the Gospel. I read that you sense that this could be a 'global' ministry for you. Keep on praying about the matter, speak to overseas Missions about their work & opportunities to serve. Though age may be against you, your spirit & willingness is very apparent. Have your heart & mind constantly trained on this path - God will direct you for sure.

I have a question. My father was a minister and always taught us that we would go through 3/2 years of the rapture then be raptured into Heaven. I have searched the Bible for this but cannot find it anywhere. Was that teaching false or did I misunderstand the teaching?
  • Chris - in Reply on Revelation 19
Your Father's teaching is what we would refer to as a belief in a 'mid-Tribulation Rapture'. That is, that the Great Tribulation begins at the revelation of Anti-Christ & Christians suffer under his regime, but will be removed mid-way before God pours out His Anger upon the whole world.

Others also believe that the Great Tribulation begins at the advent of the Anti-Christ & so we will either see him briefly, or not at all, before being taken away (pre-Tribulation Rapture). And then, of course, still others hold to the fact that we all (saved & unsaved) go right through the whole Tribulation period of 7 years: (Post-Tribulation Rapture).

For this, we must appeal to 2 Thessalonians 2:1-4. "That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition." (vv2,3).

The Thessalonian Christians were fearful that the Great Tribulation was already upon them & they missed out on being raptured. So Paul comforted them by saying the 'Day of Christ (Lord)' would not come until there was first a 'falling away' from the Church & the revelation of the Anti-Christ. This should lead us to believe that Christians might be around to see Anti-Christ appear on the scene but will be raptured some time afterwards. We're not told when, whether there will a time where we will need to decide to take the Mark or not, or even suffer for it. That day & time is known only to the Lord, but we must be ready, waiting & watching. So, I would be too dogmatic to suggest that your Dad is wrong in holding to a mid-trib position, though I would tend to hold to a pre-trib position, based on my understanding of Scripture & removal of the Holy Spirit (v 7) & the Church and that God is always seen to remove His own before His Judgement falls on the unbeliever.
  • Stephen - in Reply on Revelation 19
The rapture is false altogether.Christ is returning to Earth to set up his eternal is written in the Psalms that God has chosen Mount Zion on his favorite place where he will dwell forever.
  • Chris - in Reply on Revelation 19
To believe that the Rapture is false, would mean disregarding or reinterpreting a lot of Scripture that points to such an event. And those Scriptures don't fit nicely into a belief that Jesus is coming to rule in Jerusalem without something occurring first to both the living & dead believers. The differing viewpoints that arise as to when the Rapture occurs in connection with the Great Tribulation, causes the variation of interpretations of the Scriptures.
  • Steven Spencer - in Reply on Revelation 19
You mean 3/2 years of tribulations, meaning raptured in the middle of 70th week, i dont think you will find that.
  • Revelations 19:13

Whose blood is sprinkled on the vesture; Is it the blood of the defeated enemy, or Christ's blood as atonement for our sins? I have Zondervan KJV Study Bible. The footnotes indicated that it could have been either. That note only led to confusion on my part.

    Thanks, Roy
  • The Blood of Jesus - in Reply on Revelation 19:13
Revelation 19:13, clearly names Jesus as the Word of God.

The blood of Christ one of the most important doctrinal teachings found in the Word of God. It is through the shedding of Christ's blood that WE can:

Learn of God's and Christ's great love for us

Be declared innocent from our many heinous sins

Be delivered from the eternal wrath of Almighty God

Be brought into communion with a Holy God.

Be saved from eternal death and granted eternal life.

Romans 5:8-10 - "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Much more then, being now justified by his BLOOD, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life."

No wonder His shed blood holds a core position of importance in both the Old Testament and the New Testament, it is the only hope for a person's salvation, receipt of other spiritual blessings and eternal security with Him.

Sadly, many today will minimize the importance of the death and shed blood of Christ. It has been done throughout NT times and will continue to be done until Christ comes again. Anytime that we minimize what Christ has done for us (whether by word or action) after we have mentally received the truth about its importance, it is a sign of a lost condition and increased responsibility at the final judgment.
