Revelation Chapter 16 Discussion

This is the second reply I give to you . Here are a couple of scriptures that back up my conclusion about Jesus's tears being because people he loved were reproaching him for not coming to Lazarus's aid sooner , Romans chapter 15 verses 3 + 4 and Psalm 69 verse 9 . When someone we love dies , how many of us blame / reproach God ? It makes me sad that so many people who don't even believe in God or Jesus , are very quick to blame God when anything bad happens in their lives .
  • Sammi - In Reply on Revelation 16 - 1 year ago
Please , read the whole chapter of John 11. You will notice that Jesus does not rush to Lazarus's side to heal him of his sickness , he waits a couple of days . Jesus already knew what was going to happen and how he would deal with the situation , verse 4 of John chapter 11 . In verses 21 + 32 we find that Martha and Mary seem to reproach Jesus for not coming to Lazarus's aid and healing him before he could die . These reproaches , gentle as they were , probably hurt Jesus feelings and , when he sees how upset everyone is, verse 33, Jesus allows his emotions to be witnessed by all . In verse 36 we read that the Jews interpret Jesus's tears as grief for Lazarus , but in verse 37 he is reproached again and in verse 38 he groans again in himself . We might ask , if he is groaning within himself how does John know this ? Real pain and sorrow usually shows in our face expressions and body language . So , personally , I do not believe that Jesus weeps for the death of Lazarus . I believe that his tender heart is hurt by the reproaches of his friends because they had hoped that Jesus would come quickly to heal Lazarus and by the grief of people that he obviously loves very much .

    Hello Nsituma,

The verse is John 11:35. This was when He was given news that Lazarus had died.

Too many follow their own imagination, based on ill interpretations of the Bible. America is being prepared for her visitation, and no one will know why or where it comes from. America will fall while the sun was yet high in the sky, Jeremiah 15:7-9

Concluding thoughts on seventh vial in Revelation 16

We see here; in the seventh vial judgment a great hail coming down on the earth which fits into the scenario of the Ezekiel 38 war. This is tied in with the greatest earthquake ever in verse 18; and Babylon the Great to be judged; the "great city" whatever that is-possibly Jerusalem being split in three pieces and all the cities of the nations falling.

    See Ezekiel 6:6; ; Isaiah 30:25; Ezekiel 38:22; Zechariah 14:2; Isaiah 13:9.
  • Richard H Priday on Revelation 16 - 1 year ago
In this chapter; we see the most severe and rapid fire sequence of judgments. These are exclusively involving the reprobate (with the exception of a few hidden away in the wilderness or a handful scattered in certain places). We see in the first vial a reaction for those with the mark. Some have suggested that mercury or other toxins in computer chips could affect people this way.

The TOTAL destruction of life in the sea (ostensively indicating all the oceans in the world) is mind numbing. The exception would be the marine life in the Dead Sea which is destined (as is already starting) to have fresh water come into it; which will accellerate in the Millenium and beyond when water flows from the Holy City.

The fresh water sources of the whole world are then turned to "blood". Whether this is literal blood or some blood red contaminant may not be entirely clear here; but we have a precedent with Egyptian plagues here and with other vial judgments.

The fourth vial; fifth and seventh all indicate a lack of repentance and continuing blasphemies against God. The sixth seal uses demons to convince men to fight at Armageddon after gathering there (v. 12-16). This probably has something to do with the East vs West (as Daniel states that there are rumors from the North and East that bother Antichrist in chapter 11; verse 44); but evolves into people fighting amongst themselves then turning against Christ when they are immediately destroyed. When we realize that at the end of the Millennium Satan is released one more time for yet ANOTHER insurrection to overthrow God we realize how deluded unregenerate men's minds are as well as how wicked Satan is.

We see that there is unrestrained judgment here in accordance with man's complete lack of repentance. Man repeats what the Beast spews forth in Revelation 13 and somehow thinks that they can "forecast a device" against the Lord ( Psalm 21:11). Let us do His work while it is yet day ( John 9:4).

Mark 2:27 "And He (Jesus) said unto them, "The sabbath was made for man, not man for the sabbath:" 28 "Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath."

Jesus became our sabbath. The word sabbath taken back to it's prime (Strong's concordance 7676 from 7673)in the Hebrew means 'to rest.'

Jesus speaking in Matt 11:28 "Come unto Me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." 29 "Take My yoke upon you, and learn of Me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls." 30 For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light."

When we stay in the Word and walk in His light we keep the sabbath daily which gives us restful peace knowing the world has no power over us as we wear the armour of God.
  • Giannis - In Reply on Revelation 16 - 1 year ago
    Lets talk about Sabbath first.

Many things from the OT are not valid now Sacrifices, offerings, commandments, holy days etc have no place in NT. One of them is Sabbath.

See Colossians 2:16. Here apostole Paul says to Colosians that no man can judge them because they didn't follow OT's practises, including (pay attention) Sabbath as some Jewish christians claimed. Paul dismisses this idea.

Christians soon chose the first day of the week for their formal congregation during which they "broke bread" that is take the Body and Blood of Jesus Crist or as some churches name it have Holly Communion, see Acts 20:7,

Also in 1 Corinthians 11:20 Paul talks about Lord's Super, (but the greek text says Lord's Day super "Kyriako deipno") . Lord's Day is how early Christians called Sunday. Early Christians had the Holly Communion during a super just as Jesus did with His Disciples. This practice was abandoned sometime during the 2nd century AD and the Holly Communion was transferred from the church's super to the formal Sunday service.

Also see 1 Corinthians 16:2 Paul says to Christians in Corinth to gather money on Lord's Day.

Also in Revelation 1:10 apostole John talks about Lord's Day

So the formal day for christians at the time that the apostles lived was Sunday,. Sabbath has nothing to do with us now Many other verses that i cannot remember now verify that the Sunday and not Sabbath was the formal day for early christians.

You can find all those things in books about the history of church.

Now as far as commandments are concerned to be honest i have no idea what the Catholic church has done.

    God bless you.

Hi Steve. Yes, the RC version of the Decalogue involves taking the first three commandments & reducing them to two. Therefore, the fourth commandment becomes the third. And of course, the tenth commandment is split into two, making it the ninth & tenth.

Nowhere in Bible has the Sabbath Day (the seventh day - in the fourth commandment) been changed to the the first day of the week. When Christians choose to worship on the first day of the week, this is not a Sabbath replacement, as the Sabbath was a day of complete rest for Israel, as ordained by God. Sunday for the Christian is a day chosen to meet together for worship (i.e. in most parts of the world; some countries have other days). This might be in line with the early Church meeting on the first day of the week, called the Lord's Day ( Acts 20:7).
  • CHANGE WHEN CHANGE IS REQUIRED - In Reply on Revelation 16 - 1 year ago
    Malachi 3:6

For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.

    John 8:47

He that is of God heareth God's words: you therefore hear them not, because you are not of God.

    Romans 1:28

    And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

God does not change His mind about His Word; Jesus or the Bible.

People/priests however do change Gods word and are subject to what is written at the end of Revelation 22. They do it to themselves and hurt others by saying their decisions are right.

By knowing the Bible we can avoid pitfalls to our faith in God. If your church is political and makes changes politically, you have a responsibility to separate yourself from that church; seek one teaching the WHOLE BIBLE and not omitting or adding to "the Bible".

There is no "wiggle" room on these matters. Jesus said, FOLLOW ME. You bear the responsibility to change your Church Affiliation. Period.

Jesus is returning soon and there isn't another 100 years to flesh out the problems of religious political issues. They just want your financial support. Find a real Bible teaching Church. Not those that mix in philosophy, how to be happy happy in your life without change; marriage counselors, and subjects that are not scripturally based.

Super Churches are not able to give one on one, encouragement to their parishioners.

Bottom line: Follow Jesus. We are HIS DISCIPLES on this earth.

Hell is detailed throughout the Bible. Hell is real and so are the various layers within. The Bottomless pit is a void where God keeps demons captive until they receive their judgment and punishment, also in the Lake of Fire. If you read in the following verses in Luke chapter 8 we're given an idea of the demons that were therein:

    Luke 8: 30 & 31

"And Jesus asked him, saying, What is thy name? And he said, Legion: because many devils were entered into him. And they besought him that he would not command them to go out into the deep."
  • Chris - In Reply on Revelation 16 - 1 year ago
Hi Albert, the Book of the Revelation makes reference to the 'bottomless pit' in several places: Revelation chapters 9, 11, 17 & 20. And this place is generally seen as Hell, the domain of Satan, his devils, & the wicked. This place is different to their final place of judgement: the Lake of Fire (Revelation chapters 19, 20 & 21).

Hello, Perhaps these vials have a lot to do with cause and effect. In the day that we live, many minds are turned towards violence and corruption. We can feed on news/entertainments that have these evils, which increases demand, which increases our fleshly appetites. Might God while time remains in the flesh pronounce judgements upon man, while yet there remain saints that have transparent lives in the flesh saved by grace (where the mark of faith is in Jesus as he is first in our minds). Oh, but the beast cannot stand not having his mark on the saints and prophets in the earth. The plagues of Revelation 15 and the vials of Revelation 16 can be seen in effect today. The opposing army of Armageddon is a mystery that has perhaps its answer in a sudden end of time. Thus we must watch and pray in our day how this battle for our soul is playing.

Hello Bob. This chapter speaks about the Great Tribulation days, when those left on the Earth, subscribe to the Anti-Christ's demands & worship him. It is upon those who will suffer under God's Wrath & receive this "noisome and grievous sore" (or, an evil/malicious festering sore/ulcer) cf: Exodus 9:8-10 (of God's Anger to the Egyptians) - and this was only the first vial of God's Wrath during that extended period of time. Much more horrors to come. From the texts pertaining to this time in history, it would be difficult to corroborate the Covid vaccine's present effects felt by some, with that Scripture.

    Evelyn Brown,

Revelation 6: 16 lets you know that the 6th seal, scroll and earthquake, lead into the great and dreadful day of the Lord. The world is about to change for the worse.

Armageddon, as you sighted, occurs at the end, when Jesus returns, as prophesy is complete.

    I hope that helps,

    God bless

Sister Evelyn, may CHRIST IN US grace us with HIS wisdom and HIS understanding.

The battle of Armageddon is a battle as real as any battle; yet this battle isn't with natural weapons of warfare. Study Isaiah 9, it's a prophecy about Christ, the kingdom of God, and the battle we fight to obtain the kingdom (CHRIST IN YOU).

Isaiah 9:5 For every battle of the warrior is with confused noise, and garments rolled in blood, but this (battle) SHALL BE with BURNING and FUEL OF FIRE.

Isaiah 9:19 ......And THE PEOPLE shall be the FUEL OF THE FIRE (CHRIST)....( Hebrews 12:29)

Revelation 9:18 By these three was a third part of man killed, BY THE FIRE (CHRIST)( Hebrews 12:29) ....

Ezekiel 5:3 Thou shall BURN a third part in the fire (IN CHRIST) ....

Ezekiel 5:4 Then take of them again, and cast them into the midst of the FIRE (IN CHRIST), and burn them in the FIRE (IN CHRIST)....

Isaiah 4:4 When the LORD (FIRE) shall have washed away the filth of the DAUGHTERS OF ZION, and shall have purged the blood of (new) Jerusalem from the midst thereof by the SPIRIT OF JUDGEMENT and the SPIRIT OF BURNING.

Zachariah 13:9 And I will bring the third part through the FIRE (CHRIST) .....

Malachi 3:2 Who shall abide the day of his coming (CHRIST IN YOU)? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiners FIRE.....

Matthew 3:11 ....he will baptise you with the HOLY GHOST and FIRE:

Revelation 21:8 But the FEARFUL, and MURDERS ( 1 John 3:15).....and ALL LIARS shall have their part in the lake that burneth with FIRE (JUDGED IN CHRIST)...

Joel 3:14 Multitude, multitudes, in the valley of DECISION: for the DAY OF THE LORD (TODAY) is near in the valley of DECISION.
  • Jesse - In Reply on Revelation 16 - 2 years ago
    Evelyn,

Revelation 16:16 is speaking of a real battle that will take place.

And he gathered them together into the place which is called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.

The valley of Megiddo, it's HAR-MEGIDDON. HAR is valley. The valley of Megiddo is what Armageddon means.

And we see that in Zechariah Chapter 14 Verses 2 and 3, and Ezekiel Chapters 38 and 39. It talks about this battle known as Armageddon, or the valley of Megiddo.
  • Evelyn Brown on Revelation 16 - 2 years ago
Explain Revelation 16 verse 16. The battle of Armageddon is is a real battle or is symbolic. Thank you.

frogs; Rev. 16:13 = Frogs are amphibians and distant zoological relatives to reptiles. In the demonic spiritual realm, these frog-like "unclean spirits" are related to "the dragon" (Satan/Devil; identified twelve times in Revelation), also a spiritually unclean reptile. In the physical world, reptiles eat frogs, but in the spiritual world, the dragon issues one of these frogs from his mouth. How strange are both the physical and the spiritual worlds!

Amphibious frogs are at home in water as they are on land. In the Second Egyptian Plague, frogs issued "abundantly" from the river ( Exo. 8:3). Interestingly, the unholy trinity issues these frogs immediately after the waters of the Euphrates River dries up.

As an unclean animal for dietary consumption, The Jews considered frogs an abomination ( Lev. 11:10-12). Scriptures record the word "frogs" fourteen times, and all references, with this exception, refers to the Second Egyptian Plague ( Exo. 8:2f; Ps. 78:45; 105:30) when GOD sent frogs as an instrument of judgment. GOD can use any created creature to torment and judge the ungodly.

Actually if you read revelation chapter 16 verse 15, it says that he comes like a their, and it it right after the 6th vial and just before the 7th vial and the Great wrath. I don't believe it is a pre-trib rapture at all.

It can be anything that apposes itself against the true God, I know a lot of Beleivers who use the internet to teach so not everything about it is evil.
  • Chris - In Reply on Revelation 16:17 - 3 years ago
If you're referring to Revelation 16:17, then this verse speaks of an angel (from God) who pours out his vial upon the Earth in the time of the Great Tribulation (when God's Anger is poured out upon the world). After the contents of the vial was poured out, there were thunders, lightnings & a great earthquake. So there's no devil seen in this verse, & certainly no internet.

However, Ephesians 2:2 does mention the "prince of the power of the air". Maybe you're thinking of this, as certainly the Devil is implied here, but any reference to the internet is not seen here either.
  • Elizabeth Parent on Revelation 16:17 - 3 years ago
