Wesley's Notes for Revelation 6:15

6:15 And the kings of the earth - They who had been so in their day. And the great men and chief captains - The generals and nobles. Hid themselves - So far as in them lay. In the rocks of the mountains - There are also rocks on the plains; but they were rocks on high, which they besought to fall upon them.

People's Bible Notes for Revelation 6:15

Re 6:15-17 And the kings of the earth . . . hid themselves. This implies great terror among "them that dwell on the earth" (Re 6:10); their belief that terrible judgments were impending from God; that "the wrath of the Lamb" was manifested, and their efforts to escape.

Gerald; "Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed." 1 Cor. 15:51-52 We must put on immortality; for flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.

Steve read carefully 1Corinthians15:50-58. Says only the dead will be changed at the last trumpet,in Revelation 11. 1 thess 4:14-18 says the same thing. Says we who are ALIVE AND REMAIN UNTILL THE COMING OF YHE LORD WILL BY NO MEANS PRECEDE THOSE WHO ARE ASLEEP. Revel.chapter11:17,18 says talks about the One who is and was and IS TO COME. This the last trump and he is judging and rewarding saved

Steve (cont.) as to the part in 2nd Thessalonians about "..until he be taken out of the way;" does not mean the Rapture of the Church, but the Holy Spirit giving them up and taking away all restraint. This also is the Archaic meaning in the number six hundred sixty six; overflowing all bounds and restraints by a multiplicative; as it is written in the 2nd Psalm "Let us break their bands asunder.."
  • A disciple
Steve; the words in the Original Received Text; which were translated into English "what things shall be hereafter.." is more accurately "..with these things;" as adding to what is already being said in the messages to the Churches. The idea that John being translated into the Spirit in ch. 4 is supposed to signify the rapture of the Church is misled, and contradicts the entire intent of the Book.
  • Steve
Disciple...I certainly respect your belief and opinion concerning the rapture of the church...but I do differ. Revelation 4-22.5 tells us of the things that shall be hereafter...after what? After the saints are caught up as stated in 1 thes.4:14-17. 2 thes 2:7 tells us the church will continue to hinder lawlessness until the rapture, and then antichrist will be revealed. I find comfort in pretrib

Steve; Thank you for your kind words. I like what you write as well! I do see it differently however about the Catching Away of the Saints, as I read about it in Scripture. The times of the heathen have been officially ruling over the world since the carrying away of Judah and Jerusalem by Babylon; by Israel's forfeiture of the kingdom through the house of David till Christ returns.
