Wesley's Notes for Revelation 5:6

5:6 And I saw - First, Christ in or on the midst of the throne; secondly, the four living creatures making the inner circle round him; and, thirdly, the four and twenty elders making a larger circle round him and them. Standing - He lieth no more; he no more falls on his face; the days of his weakness and mourning are ended. He is now in a posture of readiness to execute all his offices of prophet, priest, and king. As if he had been slain - Doubtless with the prints of the wounds which he once received. And because he was slain, he is worthy to open the book, verse 9, #Rev 5:9 to the joy of his own people|, and the terror of his enemies. Having seven horns - As a king, the emblem of perfect strength. And seven eyes - The emblem of perfect knowledge and wisdom. By these he accomplishes what is contained in the book, namely, by his almighty and all - wise Spirit. To these seven horns and seven eyes answer the seven seals and the sevenfold song of praise, verse 12. #Rev 5:12 In Zechariah|, likewise, iii. 9, iv. 10, #Zech 3:9|, Zech 4:10 mention is made of the seven eyes of the Lord, which go forth over all the earth. Which - Both the horns and the eyes. Are the seven spirits of God sent forth into all the earth - For the effectual working of the Spirit of God goes through the whole creation; and that in the natural, as well as spiritual, world. For could mere matter act or move? Could it gravitate or attract? Just as much as it can think or speak.

People's Bible Notes for Revelation 5:6

Re 5:6,7 And I beheld. When John looked to behold the Lion of Judah, the root of David, who should open the book, he beheld the only being in the universe who could take it from the hand of God. There is none other to whom the future is revealed. He only, to whom all power in heaven and earth has been given, can control the events of earth. He only can hold in his hand the book of destiny, open its leaves, and reveal its record to men. John looked to see this mighty one who was deemed worthy to exercise the prerogative of God. A Lamb. But he appears in symbolic form, as a Lamb of God slain for sins; a sacrificial Lamb bearing wounds, the marks of having been slain. The Lion had become a Lamb. The Lamb became a Lion, a conqueror, and "prevailed" so as to be able to hold and open the book (Re 5:5), or to hold the reins of all power by submitting unto death. This symbolic Lamb had seven horns, the perfect number joined to the well-known symbol of power; the seven horns denoting omnipotence; also the Lamb had seven eyes, defined by John to symbolize the omniscience of him who hath the Spirit without measure. See PNT "Re 1:4" on "the seven Spirits of God".

Because God so loved the world, and because there was no man worthy to come and take the sacred scroll from His hand; God Himself provided us a Man, through whom He could make reconciliation, and so also open our understanding to understand the matters that He undertakes with man. In the little scroll are the things done, and those determined for the conclusion of this matter of the present age.

Four beasts are creatures. These 4 guards, guard the throne and are Gods guards.Having many eyes means they know when anyone approaches from any side. The standards or flags, a connection you will read about when you read of Gods throne when it is in movement, the 4 protection tribe flags attached to their vehicles, man, lion, eagle and calf. Oh, there wings are on their vehicle, call rings by Ezek.
