People's Bible Notes for Revelation 13:5

Re 13:5 And there was given to him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies. fHe would make blasphemous claims. Daniel affirms the same of the beast seen in his vision (Da 7:25). To continue forty [and] two months. The same period named in Re 12:6 11:2 11:3 Da 7:25. The period referred to here, when the beast shall prevail against the church, is one of 1260 years. This is evidently the period of the world's dominion over the Church.

Dear Ben; I found something very interesting, that you also may enjoy studying. In the original Greek Text 666 is three different letters, one of which is now obsolete, but were written to indicate the number six hundred sixty six. I looked up the archaic meanings of each of those letters, and of their meanings, and found them to point rather to Over All Bounds, as of casting away all restraint.

The Vav is the 6th letter of the Hebrew alphabet. It represents Man and the number 6 . In is pronounces Waw and it is where our letter W originates. The beast is the Worldwide web from which it shall breath life into its own image, which will be able to speak, and command people to worship it. No one will be able to buy or sell without taking its mark or the number of its name. WWW 666
