People's Bible Notes for Revelation 13:5

Re 13:5 And there was given to him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies. fHe would make blasphemous claims. Daniel affirms the same of the beast seen in his vision (Da 7:25). To continue forty [and] two months. The same period named in Re 12:6 11:2 11:3 Da 7:25. The period referred to here, when the beast shall prevail against the church, is one of 1260 years. This is evidently the period of the world's dominion over the Church.

Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? For after all these things do the Gentiles seek: for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

Donald W. Revelation is a fascinating book given to us for our learning. It had difficult parts, but what is intended for our learning today isn't impossible to know with study. Most of the book ready came to pass as is stated in first chapters things at hand and will short come to pass. I suggest Introduction

These beasts are world superpowers named in Daniel. Daniel was WAY back there looking forward, John in Rome looking back, thus reason for the inverted order. Same ol beasts, different vantage point. The conclusion of the prophecy is upon US like a duck on a June bug. It is Christ's will for us to know these things. All reformers and most folk did til about 100 years ago. Healed wound hid it.
