People's Bible Notes for Revelation 13:16

Re 13:16 He causeth all . . . to receive a mark. The mark of the beast is some stamp or sign, by which all its worshipers should be known. In ancient days slaves were sometimes branded, as cattle are in our own age. The brand or mark of the beast would be some indelible sign which would designate with certainty those who were subject to his authority. To receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads. A mark in the hand is supposed by some to represent the practice, while a mark in the forehead indicates the profession of life. It is remarkable, however, that a mark on the forehead, the sign of the cross made with water, converts a person into a Roman Catholic, and without this mark none are regarded as heirs of salvation.

    Most of the Christians I know have never read the book out of fear ! Wow I love this book and have been studying and praying since 1980, that 's when l came to know the Truth !
  • Kevin Butler for verse 16
    I think we should all start taking Revelation seriously, and do some heavy duty repenting. Before it is to late!
  • Michael for verse 16
    I believe the end days are coming.and when the time comes I will have already ben saved hopefully.
  • Tom Whale for verse 16
    Nowhere in the Bible does it tell you that the mark on the forehead coverts you to the Roman Catholic Church. You are saved through Christ, not in accepting the catholic faith. Follow scriptures not the books written by the Catholic Church.
  • Joe Berry for verse 16
    I believe it is having to do with the United Nations, European Union and the very head of it all the antiChrist the beast whose number is 666 and I believe he is alive and well soon to be revealed.

    Some believe the Church will be caught up before he is revealed however there is scripture to indicate otherwise such as:

    2 Thessalonians Chapter 2

    1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and [by] our gathering together unto him,

    2That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.

    3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for [that day shall not come], except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
