Wesley's Notes for Revelation 12:13

12:13 And when the dragon saw - That be could no longer accuse the saints in heaven, he turned his wrath to do all possible mischief on earth. He persecuted the woman - The ancient persecutions of the church were mentioned, #Rev 1:9|, 2:10, 7:14; but this persecution came after her flight, verse 6, #Rev 12:6 just at the beginning of the| third woe. Accordingly, in the tenth and eleventh centuries, the church was furiously persecuted by several heathen powers. In Prussia, king Adelbert was killed in the year 997, king Brunus in 1008; and when king Stephen encouraged Christianity in Hungary, he met with violent opposition. After his death, the heathens in Hungary set themselves to root it out, and prevailed for several years. About the same time, the army of the emperor, Henry the Third, was totally overthrown by the Vandals. These, and all the accounts of those times, show with what fury the dragon then persecuted the woman.

People's Bible Notes for Revelation 12:13

Re 12:13 The dragon . . . persecuted the woman. In some other form, not as a Pagan power defying Christ, but perhaps garbed as an angel of light, he still persecuted the woman.

Discussion for Revelation 12

  • Jesus loves you - in Reply on Revelation 12:13
For God so loved THE WORLD, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

I think that pretty much gives everybody a chance to have sins forgiven and be grafted into the family of God, don't you?

    Hallelujah! Mishael

    Hello JMCL,

Just to give a short reply to your question. I think what is more important to perceive is "do I love God"? God's mercy, compassion, lovingkindness, forgiveness is endless. For God is love and life. God has no pleasure in the death of the wicked and want's people to turn, repent, from their wickedness/sin and live by His Will which is Holy and pure. As said "Return to me and I will return unto you saith the Lord of hosts".

As even satan was one of His angels who turned against Him, along with many others, who are now His main adversaries.

God hates sin and those who live in willful sin are not close to Him. Although, God knows everything and that one who is a sinner today may be a saint tomorrow. The Lord searches hearts. Though many shall die in there sin and not acknowledge God or Jesus Christ.

He loves His Creation so much that He gave His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, for us. By His grace and love for us.

Keep reading the Holy Bible. Give your life to Jesus Christ if you have not already done so. Pray from the heart. The truth shall set you free.

    God Bless.

And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child.

Satan seeing his days were numbered having been cast into the earth, persecuted the woman causing chaos in the tabernacle's of God bridging Union and church, and decreeing that a mark should be put upon all lawful people in this denouncing God all together. A nation without God is dead already. America still believes in God, and always will!
