Robyn in Reply on Revelation 4

Hi William - in Reply on Revelation 4 You stated

"When translated from Hebrew to Greek ,then Latin and in to English this is the name they used,Jesus .However there is no letter J in the Hebrew or Greek alphabet, so therefore the name Jesus never existed back in this time, the letter J only came on the scene appx 500 years ago .The Messiah was called by his true name ."

You are in part correct but The modern pronunciation also is not what it was. J was originally pronounced as "Y" as in the Hebrew yod. When I was young we still understood this, as with Johann Sebastian Bach -which Was pronounced Yohann, etc.

Language changes in all religions even modern Hebrew and greek are not exact to their ancient meanings nor pronunciations. Most of us understand His Name was Yeshua HaMashiach as found in ancient texts But, Jesus hears our hearts and Knows who he is... whether it is said in hebrew, greek. or english. Just as when we hear someone of foreign language try to speak our names. Yeshua means Salvation that is Who He is.. Obviously you have the gift of studying the Word, and can Help others come to the word through your Study, Please Don't get lost in the little things When we need to set our eyes on HIM especially as the time is Nigh. He is Coming soon , I pray you can put your heart back to bring those still seeking. to the Gospel , Time now is to cease division among us and instead time to strengthen the brethren. God bless you and Keep You.

Every believer starts the journey of Repentance as a baby ( Matthew 11:25; Luke 10:21; Romans 2:20; 1 Cor. 3:1; 1 Peter2:2). Then they grow into a child of God ( Mark 10: 10:15) and eventually into an adult. Trust us, that does not happen during a 'truck' ride.

Matthew 18:3. Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

1 Peter 2:2. As newborn babies, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby.

Matthew 7:13,14. Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the road, that leadeth to destruction (e.g. wildfires, pandemic, hurricanes, etc.) and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

In case you are wondering what Satan's strongholds are in his kingdom ( 2 Cor. 10:4).

    - Religion. Consider the history of the Mystery Babylon and the Mother of Harlots ( Rev. 17:5). Do not forget the hundreds of years of the Inquisition during which time the Vatican ordered millions killed under their direction in the most cruel way anyone can imagine ( worse than the methods used by Al-Qaeda).

    - Political Authorities.

    - The Medical Profession.

    - The Media Industry.

    - The Legal Profession and Business Community.

    - Sports and Entertainment.

Please remember: For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith ( 1 John 5:4).

Seek, and ye shall find ( Matthew 7:7).

    In His Service.

    Psalms 91

15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honor him.

    |Interpretation|

Here we see that if we call unto the Lord (which would mean by prying or fasting), God will listen to out prayers and respond. Either according to our petition, if it is in his will, or something else.

    {Example}

If Alejandra wanted a job to start of her career, and she asked God to give her a Job, let's say she want to work at 'Maria Sanchez pet shop' (But she wants to be a vet). BUTTTT..... God has something different planned, he hears her prayer but gives her a job as a Vet apprentice!!!

The Hebrew word used here for "in the secret" is the same as used for "hiding place" in Psalm 32:7 ("Thou art my hiding place;").

For us this means Jesus Christ, as in Colossians 3:1-4:

If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
  • J Williams on Psalms 91:7 - 3 years ago
Verse 1 says," He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High, shall abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I would like to know more about the secret place of the most High." Does the Word of God mention anywhere else about the secret place of the most High?
  • Mishael - In Reply on Psalms 91:7 - 3 years ago
Both. We're told to choose life. Even if it's An Old Testament Covenant, it's still valid.

The New Covenant that Jesus ratified with His Blood, is what saves us from our sins. It's a new, better Covenant.

We are not able to live sin free. That's why we must receive Jesus. It doesn't cost us anything; but it cost Jesus, his Life.

Which He laid down and; after 3 days arose and took His life back up Again. The Bible says: to count the cost.

Fred thank you for your response. I do agree with the majority of it.

To become a Mason you must take oaths. We know what the Bible says about taking oaths.

    You must perform "sacred rituals."

You must agree that their is a higher power but you do not claim one in specific.

We also know of forbidden knowledge that comes from a different source who was outkast from Heaven.

    The list is lengthy. Very.

Many Christians who became Masons left for very specific reasons. I have also seen Christian Masons who never separated.

Anyone who has studied history knows this country was founded on Christian principles as well as Masonic. It's very obvious.

In "Will's" statement he claims being a Master Mason means nothing. I disagree however I am in no way trying to prove a point within this thread. Genuinely seeking the opinion of others especially biblically based. I also understand a Mason will provide a much different response than a devout Christian who would avoid such an organization.

Can one be devout to God the Father of the Bible while being devout to Masonry through a blood oath? Would we not see idols here? Are there no conflicts from the strict word of God provided in the Bible? Masonry allows worship of the God of the higher power of your preference. This could be Satan, Buddha etc.

Again, I hope noone takes this in the wrong manner. Thank you each for your responses.
  • Fred Scanlan - In Reply on Psalms 91:7 - 3 years ago
I don't know what it means to be a Master Free Mason. Being one requires an invitation, and is a secret organization. Scripture and salvation on the other hand is free and open too all men . Something drove our fore fathers to become separate from England. Freedom of religion was one of them! Carnal Power and the need for it corrupts. These gentlemen were responsible for their actions, at least what we know of. Wisdom and knowledge on the other hand, come from above, these having and producing, what we see today, a free nation. Freedom is not really free! It requires responsibility, by continuing in this equal wisdom and knowledge. The bible refers to works and their necessity for the physical relationship of man, but should never become dependent on mans salvation. So, is belonging to a lodge wrong? I think not as long as we put Christ first in all things .

The Lord does not hear the wicked. The wicked speak with words smooth as butter but in their heart is WAR. There is no Repentance for Esau/Edomites.
  • Will - In Reply on Psalms 91:7 - 3 years ago
    George Washington was an Edomite.

George served the purpose he was created for. George enslaved hundreds of Israelites. being a Master Mason means nothing. The bible says Israel will be scattered because Israel disobeyed and now Israel must serve their enemies until this word is preached to all Israelites amongst the nations.
  • Curious - In Reply on Psalms 91:7 - 3 years ago
George Washington was a Master Mason. Genuine question; Do you believe one can be a devout Christian and a Mason..Master Mason?

Your comment is oddly verbatim of a somewhat recent Donnie Swaggert tv sermon..

Thank you Richard for sharing that, it is one of my favourite Psalms and I find it very uplifting.

I can understand why George Washington used this as his prayer.

Psalms 91 was George Washington's prayer during the Revolutionary War according to the true side of history. The raging battle for liberty was often grim for Gen. Washington driving him to his knees in prayer. God answered as Angel's were dispatched to surround Gen. Washington in battle. History tell us Brittish sharpshooter had him in his sights many times but could not hit him. You know the rest of the story, he led his men to final victory gaining freedom from Great Britain. George Washington was a farmer at heart, that is all he ever wanted to do, but almight God had plans for George Washington to father this Republic and set it on course then he took Washington early in life just after his second term of President of the United States of America. God bless America, long live the Republic, Glory to God.

I know you're right about this. My grandson goes to a Christian school. I don't know if he has a real concept of sin. His parents have never spanked him. He's a good boy though.

With my son, I always told him why he was going to be corrected. "Whom the Lord loves, He chastens." I admitted I get chastened too. He's accomplished great things in his life. But one time he told me, that he wasn't sure how to talk to God. I told him it's like you and I are talking now. A conversation: you talk, then listen.

Then terrible tragedies happened to 2 friends; I'm almost sure he blames God for that loss. He's had much loss happen to him. Like Job.

We just have to do the best we can to the Glory of God. I always tell friends, ask for Gods help if your best is not enough. :)

Have a nice afternoon in the Joy of our Lord and Savior.
  • Carleton - In Reply on Psalms 91:7 - 3 years ago
Good morning. I have been blessed to hear over the years hundreds of children give their testimonies where they went from wanting to be a Christian to understanding that they were not saved and crying out to Jesus to be saved because they recognize sin in their life. Somewhere in between is a call to accountability. One account told by a minister today, was he and his brother (he was the oldest being 11-12) and sisters were upstairs in a house all having fun jumping on the bed. From below the mother let them know that she wanted them to stop. Instead the fun continued, another warning ot two by the mother and she began to come up the stairs. The future minister quickly jumped off the bed and sat in a nearby chair as the mother entered the room. All the children except the future minister were punished.

Time went by until the Lord called this boy to account for this lie. He repented and found peace. Confessions were made to his parents and brothers and sisters and as a minister to folks like me.

One concern that I do carry is trying to turn Children into believing Christians before God calls them. It is confusing to them and for them to be able to tell their testimony clearly later. The parents need to teach these children the truth by example and have them prepared to answer this call to accountability for sin when God judges the right time.

Most calls to accountability for sin that I have witnessed have been between 12 and 16 years old. Some between 9 & 12 and few before. There is a difference between a child being fearful because they understand there is a hell and understanding that they are resisting God's call for sin in their own life.

  • Age of Accountability - In Reply on Psalms 91:7 - 3 years ago
The need for genuine discipline doesn't usually arise until about midway through the child's second year. At this time, boys and girls become capable of understanding what you're telling them to do, and as a result they can very gently be held responsible for their behavior. A firm "no!" or a MILD slap on the hand can be effective in certain situations.

On other occasions it may be far more helpful to mandate a brief "time out" (two or three minutes at the most) or take away a favorite toy for a short period of time. Through the next 18 months, you will gradually establish yourself as the benevolent boss if you can consistently mean what you say and say what you mean. A firm but loving approach is generally the best policy in every phase of the child-rearing process.

There is some great verses on child rearing in the Book of Proverbs.

I think parents are afraid of lawsuits if they correct a child. The Bible actually says: if you never correct your child: you hate him.

One of the worst things for a kid is to use a TV to keep the child distracted or entertained.

Youtube teaches things you do not want them to learn! If you want them to grow up and follow Jesus someday; don't expose them to worldly and selfish tv content. Video games teach nothing useful.

I started reading short Psalms to my grandson at naptime and bedtime. He's 7 and became a Christian a year ago.

If YOU don't teach it: they will not learn it.

Go see how many parents are in the prayer request room asking prayer for adult drug addict children? Heartbreaking.

  • Searching the word SOFT - In Reply on Psalms 91:7 - 3 years ago
    Job 23:16

For God maketh my heart soft, and the Almighty troubleth me:

    Job 41:3

Will he make many supplications unto thee? will he speak soft words unto thee?

    Psalms 55:21

The words of his mouth were smoother than butter, but war was in his heart: his words were softer than oil, yet were they drawn swords.

    Psalms 65:10

Thou waterest the ridges thereof abundantly: thou settlest the furrows thereof: thou makest it soft with showers: thou blessest the springing thereof.

    Proverbs 15:1

A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.

    Proverbs 25:15

By long forbearing is a prince persuaded, and a soft tongue breaketh the bone.

    Isaiah 38:15

What shall I say? he hath both spoken unto me, and himself hath done it: I shall go softly all my years in the bitterness of my soul.

    Matthew 11:8

But what went ye out for to see? A man clothed in soft raiment? behold, they that wear soft clothing are in kings' houses.

    Luke 7:25

But what went ye out for to see? A man clothed in soft raiment? Behold, they which are gorgeously apparelled, and live delicately, are in kings' courts.

    *********

I didn't find any soft headed people. I'm not sure what that means biblically either.

What version of Bible are you using?

Isaiah 60:5, I love this verse.

"Then thou shalt see, and flow together, and thine heart shall fear, and be enlarged, because of the abundance of the sea shall be converted unto thee, the forces of the Gentiles shall come unto thee."

In my heart I see from the East the Faith of Abraham flowing towards the rising of Christ at his birth. I see the decedents of Judah flowing towards the birthplace, I see the proselytes of Israel flowing towards the birthplace, I see decedents of Abraham and Keturah carrying the gifts in another flowing to the Christ Child. Then from the West, Gentiles flowing towards the Christ Child. The Child being able to accept the flows of the peoples until the end of time as a sea.

    Just some evening thoughts....

It just works better this way. God means for the couple to draw close, unite in purpose and become ONE. It's about core; inner circle:

Men may have to eat a few deadly meatloafs, but there will be peace in the home. :D. (AllrecipesDotCom)

    Mark 10:7

    For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife;

    Genesis 2:24

Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

    Matthew 19:5

And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?

    Joshua 23:8

But cleave unto the LORD your God, as ye have done unto this day.

    Deuteronomy 4:4

But ye that did cleave unto the LORD your God, are alive every one of you this day.

We knew this all along. Young people seem not too. It seems like all of the issues young people are focused on, make them really vulnerable. I can identify because of being their age in the 60's. Except I did no not identify with that generation. I had compassion; empathy even, on the people who fought in the wars. It seems to be a repetitive process.

A lot of people ask the same questions about mixed marriages. I don't usually comment on it because it's such a hot topic in the present day.

In our born again hearts we know our Father did not plan THIS controversy for society. The seeds were planted a long long time ago.

I've tried many times to demonstrate that in Genesis 1:26, God gave dominion over everything EXCEPT over other mankind.

By Chapter 6: 5-6, we see God sorry that He had made mankind, it was so evil. After the flood and 8 humans surviving on Noah's Ark: by Genesis chapter 11, people are building the Tower of Babel...to shoot arrows at God. In the passage of time: elite people have organized and use the poorer people as slaves. I guess secret societies are almost as old as the earth?

And now it's still continues in 2020. GOOD news is: OUR GOD REIGNS!
  • T - In Reply on Psalms 91:7 - 3 years ago
Wow..Mishael. That, was some answer.. I have many things I could respond to within your comment(s) but I prefer not to. I sincerely enjoy reading your comments but sometimes I'm wondering what or who you are even responding to?

I assume this question was given in regards to race or color. The bible forbids no such thing.

A mixed marriage in the Bible is a believer(faithful in Christ) marrying an unbeliever(unfaithful.) That simple.

Deuteronomy 7:3-4 has been taken or used out of context by some. This was not due to their race or skin color but rather because the other races (at that time) worshipped idols, other gods. Refer to marrying an unbeliever.

A believer in Christ should marry a believer in Christ. Color is irrelevant. How boring this world would be if we all had the same appearance.
  • Carleton - In Reply on Psalms 91:7 - 3 years ago
Thank you! It was a blessing to marry a woman not only who was in the faith, but that her mother and father were in the faith and both sets of her grandparents married within the faith and all of her biological sisters and brothers married spouses in the faith. There will be an accounting for any resistance to whom God put together as husband and wife, the warning is clear.

  • The Kingdom of Heaven Suffers Violence - In Reply on Psalms 91:7 - 3 years ago
The Bible only speaks against marriage between a believer and an unbeliever.

In Nehemiah (towards the end of the chapter) the workers put away their foreign wives. (Idol worshippers)

I've read Ancient Black History: of their countries and recorded history of their explorations around the world. They were renowned for their engineering and building skills; also navigation. Ancient history.

They settled in many places: Egypt, Africa, Mexico, South and North America;etc

Archaeologists have discovered bodies that appear to be black peoples. I am asking if any of this has been taught in public schools or in College? If not, why not? Those called Nubians were black and married white Jewish decent people. The Bible has record of them. Their birth countries are recorded.

If the controversy of our generation is spinning out of control, then people need to demand equality in school curriculums; in all levels. Do we have scholars to teach it?

Go back to my first sentence. It is not Gods will that believers in God, marry, UNBELIEVERS. Someone needs to harness all the anger that tears up cities and get the educated ones, in city council meetings, state government legislatures, to lobby for

Equality in Education. Our focus on resentment has tipped the scales of justice against us. Evil men prosper when good people DO NOTHING. School history books should be rewritten.

The information is out there in the land of Google. Will anyone check to see if it's valid; look at the maps

God formed Adam out of DUST. You scientists get a handful of dirt and view it under a million dollar microscope. The dust had all colors in it. Do you really think God searched around for ALL white dust??

If the wheels of change move too slow: you parents teach it to your kids. Teach it in Church. You be truthful and teach the truth.

Teach truth and condemn uneducated violence. Get the Truth into the children.

Prove me right, or prove me wrong. I stand with God.

    Mishael
