Jehovah God is an invisible spirit person. He created the heavens, the earth, and all living things. No one created God he had no beginning.
  • Eric Armstrong on Psalms 90:10 - 10 years ago
As our average life expectancy for a man has just been upgraded to 79 I find it hard to believe that man could live three score years and ten in the harsh times of Christ.
  • Sam C. Ufomadu on Psalms 90:12 - 10 years ago
It is to making us appreciate each day as a gift while we wisely should maximize our assignment on this earth knowing that our existance here is timed.
  • David L. Henson on Psalms 90 - 10 years ago
Psalm 90 was written by Moses, the same author of Genesis. The verse in 2 Peter 3:8 is from Psalm 90:4. Those were thousand year days in Genesis chapter one. Psalms 90 begins with the creation in verse 2. Verse 4 mentions day & night. It becomes obvious when you see the use of morning & evening in verse 6, and days & years in verse 9. Parallelism is employed here, especially in verse 9.

So that we will be more devoted & committed to the thinks of GOD because we know it that we are goin near our grave.
  • Topel Sweeney on Psalms 90 - 10 years ago
One of the highlights that stands out to me as I read this chapter is the focus that's put on time management. Moses's prayer was for an understanding that his days were numbered. As a servant of the Lord, one should use his time well to bring beauty to the name of his Creator.

Matthew 5:16 "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."

Only one life twill soon be past & only what's done for Christ will last.

God's time is not our time. Cherish every moment God gives us because it could be our last. Be obedient to his word. Confess and Repent your Sins...Be a good servant. If not work towards it.
  • Rosalinasaysonkotapay on Psalms 90 - 10 years ago
The meaning of the statement: "And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us" means for GOD to ESTABLISH the WORK OF OUR HANDS upon us ( Psalms 90:17). This is a pleading TO BE GLAD after the days of affliction and evil ( Psalms 90:15).
  • Bruce on Psalms 90 - 10 years ago
What does it mean - Let the beauty of the Lord be upon us in verse 17?
  • Joseph Kearns on Psalms 90:12 - 10 years ago
We have just a certain amount of time to do what Lord requires us to do.
  • Ken Wohlbedacht on Psalms 90 - 11 years ago
Psalm 90, is a perfect example of our sinful ways, and the need to repent! Moses recognized the sins of the people, and sought Gods mercy to repent of their sinful ways. We all need to remember Moses and the trial and temptations of Gods chosen ones.
  • Randolph M.Vance JR on Psalms 90 - 11 years ago
What an awesome promise in verse 10. Simply serve the LORD with all of your heart and you can claim seventy years of life (three score and ten). Most people believe that it is appointed when we will die but no, the scripture only says that it is appointed that we will die, -it does not say when, therefore, don't make the mistake of reading into the WORD more than what it is saying.

GEN. 6;1-7 DEALS WITH A JUDGEMENT ON SINFUL MANKIND. THE REFERENCE TO 120 YEARS I BELIEVE IS A WARNING AS TO HOW MUCH TIME TILL THAT JUDGEMENT
  • Andr on Psalms 90 - 11 years ago
    @Neil,
In Genesis 6:3, GOD sets mans lifetime at 120 years. And in Psalms 90:10, it says The days of our years are ..70, 90 years. This seems to be a conflict, but it is not one actually. Because in Genesis 6:3 GOD sets a limit at 120 years, which does NOT necessarily means everybody will live out to that age, and in Psalms 90:10, in this prayer Moses is observing that the days of our years are 70 to 90 years, this is what Moses often sees, but Moses himself lived 120 years ( Deuteronomy 34:7).
However GODs grace and mercy are beyond any limitation, because Noah himself lived 950 years ( Genesis 9:29), and that was after life limitation which took place in Genesis 6:3. So lets stick to GODs grace and mercy.

These songs of David are some of the most splendid lyrics ever written, so Holy and full of worship was David; though he confesses his separation from the Devine, he at the same time entreats God's return for the sake of his salvation. David had won God's heart not because he was perfect, as his Son, Jesus, was but because he repented of his sin's, recognizing that he sinned, and believing that his God was merciful to forgive him his sin. God will reproach his children for our edification as any Father would who loves his children. Selah

So simple and yet so powerful, full of mysteries and revelations, that is how awesome our God is. To those that seek Him they will find Him or rather He will find them. He is everywhere and yet we have to seek him indeed or Lord teach us to number our days unto wisdom so that the mysteries of your glory may be revealed to us.
