  • Mishael on being a Follower of Jesus - In Reply on Psalms 70 - 3 years ago
I learned (as a new Christian) in the college of full bore head on crashes. It didn't get better till I turned off the tv (all noise) and read some chapters all the way through.

It's like a checking account with $2.00 in it. Can't do anything with it :/

Start in Proverbs. Lot of wisdom there. Move into Ecclesiastes; Romans, 1+2+3 John in the back of the Bible (where you learn how to be forgiven for daily mess ups.

The Bible is a guide for daily living. It's sorta like the tv remote control: it takes you to where you want to go. Skin deep or ocean deep.

When you understand who God really is,

You'll want to find out more about him. As a Christian, you have the Holy Spirit as your Teacher. Ask Him to teach you about Jesus. His favorite subject. Always build time in your day to spend an hour with Him.

Our minds are carnally geared (flesh pleasing). Your only defense is knowledge and a rock hard WILL to go forward with Jesus!

Don't wait for someone else to build your faith like LEGOs. You do it: scripture by scripture.
  • Mishael reply on 1 John 19 - In Reply on Psalms 70 - 3 years ago
You may be experiencing spiritual warfare.

Take a walk through your home with the Holy Spirit and ask Him to help you get rid of anything that could be an idol. Why?

Demons hang around and inhabit the objects.

    Read Acts 19:19

It might help to watch some Spiritual Warfare videos on YouTube. You'll be much better informed when you sense trouble nearby. It helps you pray for your kids and family.

Forgiveness is taking your hands off the necks of those who hurt you.

Wholesale forgive. It will release you: and release them, so God will work on their lives.

I know it's NOT pleasant; but being obedient has huge advantages.

Not many churches teach on this. Take notes on the teachings and find them in your Bible. In time you'll be able to help others get free too.

Re-dedicate your life to Jesus. Go to 1 John chapter 1 verse 9, as often as you need to. In fact read the whole book. I do because I need to hear it often.

Please pray for me. I struggle a lot with being single. Please pray that Jesus Christ will help me find a wife. I need God's mercy and help with finding the lady who the Lord wants to be my wife and helpmeet. Please pray that Jesus Christ will show me mercy and let me get married. I truly desire a marriage blessed by God. Proverbs 18:22 says that he who finds a wife finds a good time. Thank you so much for your time and prayers. May God bless you all.

Jesus loves children! Remember how he blessed them when the disciples wanted to turn them away. Let's be like Jesus. We don't have any record of how Jesus' influence affected those children, just like we don't know how we will influence the children we love today. But no doubt it can only be good! Blessings to you and your family.

  • Diann Rodgers - In Reply on Psalms 70 - 3 years ago
Are you reading and researching the Bible? This will help you get closer to the Lord your God.
  • Diann Rodgers - In Reply on Psalms 70 - 3 years ago
I believe the best was to start is to know His word. And the best way to do that is to read His book.. over and over again. And as you are reading take notes, jot down questions. Then research those notes and questions.

God will help you the best after you know what He is all about.

It will take work to get to the point where you can help others. You can't expect God to wave his hand over you and by magic you are ready to help others. Now you and your friends can work on this project together. Remember that God said where 2 or more are gathered in his Name there He will be also.
  • Diann Rodgers - In Reply on Psalms 70 - 3 years ago
Perhaps you need to find a project to do. Think back to your school days and summer breaks. We're you down then too? Or did you participate in projects.

These projects can be creative or research. You can look outside. Write down all you see out of a window.

    Creative;

Draw- doesn't have to be a masterpiece

    Paint- same

Sew, knit, crochet, embroidery, needle point, tat, hairpin lace, etc. .... same

    Build- same

Put together or take apart- same

    Cook, Bake- same

    Research;

*Start with an object then see how you can change it. Or why it is growing. How does it grow. Or if not living research how it was created and formed in the manner it was. If you see a flying object.

*Answer all the w questions ... Who. What. When. Where. Why. Then an H... How.

    Now you develop;

    *

God may be telling you to do something about this situation.

Perhaps you should show them the way to God.

You can take them to Sunday School.

You can do some research and find games and coloring for them to do. God will help their minds if you pray to God. Only He will know what will spark the beginning of their interest and curiosity. You supply the SPARK.

    AND WHAT IS THE GOSPEL?

Jesus Christ is the Son of God

    His Virgin birth

    His perfect sinless life

    His Death on the Cross

    Resurrected after 3 days

Witnessed by his disciples and at least 500 people in town who SAW him with their own eyes and gave testimony of it.

If anything is added on or taken away, then that is heresy.

If someone is starving or about to lapse in a diabetic coma, and you stand on your vow not to feed bums... what good is your faith?

Got some good faith verses in Galatians too.
  • Rebekah - In Reply on Psalms 70 - 3 years ago
I have complete and utter confidence in the resurrection and that you will see your son again. You and your wife will be healed physically and mentally in God's new Kingdom. Believe what Jesus tells us and draw near to him, he will turn all your sorrows into joy.

I am praying for you both.

    God bless.
  • Chris - In Reply on Psalms 70 - 3 years ago
Albert, I will assume that you are a Christian who is still caught up in this habit. Any habit that controls us means that Christ is not the One to completely indwell us, fill us & control us by His Spirit. Romans 6:16 speaks about being slaves in other ways, but this Truth can be applied to anything that we are servants (subject) to in our bodies: "Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?" & 1 Corinthians 6:12: "All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any."; & this tells us that there are many things we can do (i.e. that the Bible doesn't clearly forbid us to do), but those things (e.g. smoking, etc.) are not the proper thing to do (e.g. becoming captive to it, for health reasons, etc.).

Yet, even though the Scriptures are clear as to what we should do, we know that only God, by His Spirit, can give us the strength to gain victory. The apostle Paul said that he could do all things through Christ, Who gave Him the strength ( Phil 4:13); i.e. he looked to Him & called upon Him whenever he couldn't do something in his own strength. It is that continual reliance upon the Lord & particularly being on guard when that urge comes to have a smoke. In the '70s, I was gripped by cigarettes as well. But after I was saved, my friend (a non-Christian) & I decided to give up. God had led me (or, us) to a 'herbal cigarette' that gave us the sense of smoking but without the nicotine/tar: in other words, it wasn't habit forming & in fact, helped me to eventually drop the habit in short while. My friend went back to smoking, but God gave me the strength to press on & I've never looked back.

So Albert, don't lose heart; God can help you as you look to Him each day for this habit & also check out the market for something to assist you to get release from this.

My prayer is for life and not death, for Christ is Life and HE defeated death, hell and the grave. I pray Holy Spirit, that Spirit that rose Jesus from the dead to be alive in your sister. May she be released from the shadow of death and her body, spirit and soul, her past, present and future be brought under the dominion of Christ Jesus. May He be there with her to break the hold the devil/his agents have on her. Jesus is Lord. May His Peace be with you.
  • Mishael - In Reply on Psalms 70 - 3 years ago
He needs an X-ray to look for structural damage. He may need a new mattress? Or walk a little every evening. If he doesn't drink milk, he may need citracal with D3.

If he's a Christian he may need to do some spiritual warfare. A spirit of infirmity can drag in others to chip away at his joy. To rev up his faith he needs to read the gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke, John (red letter edition). It helps to study how Jesus healed people. If you don't feed your faith; it stays little.
  • Mishael - In Reply on Psalms 70 - 3 years ago
    Speaking from experience:

Improve your immune system: eat better, no junk food; spring water: vitamin D3 with calcium, multi-vitamin, sunshine, walking.

Attend a church where they pray for the sick. Corporate prayer, laying on hands; receive the healing.

A mother that prays for her children every day is a mom who loves them well. Pray what's in your heart. Read Proverbs every day; chapter by chapter. Speak that wisdom over them.

The pain I feel is never-ending.

Mothers Day today. First time I've looked at these prayer requests. My daughter on my mind, I was thinking of her and scrolling through these requests and then...I saw her name..Karissa.

Your request is what I pray for her everyday. Her Salvation. Also many other things I pray for her. I will pray for you too. I'll also pray for your Mom. I just hope you both either are, or get in a Bible believing Baptist Church. Salvation is free to those who ask God to forgive them and save the their souls. If you want to live for Him and serve Him, it won't be hard to do. Just give your life to Him. I was a depressed person too, but God changed my sad life. I truly didn't understand why I was living except for being a Mom to my only child, my daughter Karissa. I don't ever see or talk to her. She wants nothing to do with me because I Live for God. She is almost 21 and she broke my heart 6 years ago. I'm so glad you have your Mom. She is so blessed. If you are not in a Bible believing Church, start by going, and be faithful in attendance. You will get past your depression if you have God in your life. Yes, you will get sad sometimes, but you won't have depression like you do. Life is so good with God in it. I'll pray for you Karissa. Dont you give up!

    Hi Cole,

Very sorry to hear about your situation, yet at the same time thankful that you're being open about it. We men make wrong choices at times and it is painful to see the effect it has on our wife. You have been open about your wrong - now consider 1 John 1:9: "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." God is great and can forgive all our sins and mistakes; He can also help those we've wronged so they can forgive us too, and out relationships can heal. I will pray for you, to accept God's forgiveness and also for your wife that she can forgive you; and that you both can find joy and peace in the life God has for you. God bless!

  • Mishael To June - In Reply on Psalms 70 - 3 years ago
June, I am sorrowful for the pain that you feel. People who race onward and do not carefully read each word on the creation of Adam and Eve, will miss out on the greater revelation.

Genesis 2:7 And the Lord formed (mould) man of the DUST of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man (woman also later), became a living soul.

Genesis 1:27. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him: male and female.

Genesis 1:28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have DOMINION over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

God DID NOT give Adam dominion over OTHER men or women!!!!

Just like everyone else that has lived prior and now, our color came from the same soil.

Genesis 11:1-9 is the account of the Tower of Babel; which was for evil by Nimrod. God changed the language of the people from one to many. The Lord scattered them all over the earth. Nothing is said further about races or colors. It happened back in the soil God used. Adams name in original text means, RED. That doesn't mean Adam was Native American.

You have full cause to be at peace with the color your ancestors were. Who knows what color Moses was, but he married a woman from Midian, which was predominantly dark skinned. His sister made a protest about it and God afflicted her with leprosy for a while. Keep reading, it's all true.

Before God the creator, no one has ever had a right to persecute people of color. If they were reading the Bible rightly, they would know that; in their hearts.

Satan has used his WILL to enter in and pervert the truth. People bought into it and it's been this color versus that color ever since.

God is Spirit. The Holy Spirit is Spirit. Jesus is the Son of Man. (He has color)

Believe the Bible, pass it forward. I thank God we're not all the same color! :D

what rude comments in my time of sorrow. I am of the black race, & what does race have to do with it?? If my fore parents did wrong and it affected my children there is nothing i can do about it. God is God and he knows what is best. God saved my son from death and this i am most grateful for. Everyone gets their KARMA and my son is the kindest person you ever meet, not because its my son. You have a good life.

I'm alone, but I love being alone to be with Christ. Being alone can be used as a great weapon or be your greatest downfall. Find men/women of God who will hold you accountable.

Better to be alone than with the wrong crowd, but in your case satan wants you all to himself, no competition. Seek God and be alone with Him, equipping yourself with His Word to root out the parasites from within you.
  • Arissa Nolastname - In Reply on Psalms 70 - 3 years ago
Thank you for your honesty. What you do reflects the nature of the one who has taken up residence in you. You are being diminished, and reduced to nothing while this parasite is taking over your entire consiousness. If you shower, or brush your teeth everyday, then confessing your sins and repenting should be a daily practice. A landlord who does not get his rent from the tenant will evict the tenant. So, if your body, spirit and soul is not getting a yield of righteousness, the squatter needs to be evicted. It's time to kick that tenant out- satan, the deceiver, accuser, thief, murderer, liar must get out.

You choose who you will serve. Choose the God of Abraham through His Son Jesus and choose life, blessing and eternal life in Christ or choose satan, the curse of disobedience, and death, horror and eternal judgement/condemnation.

There is no time for entertaining what is contrary to the nature of Christ. Choose Christ, divine nature.

Confess that you want to be used for GOOD and not EVIL. Ask for the Holy Spirit to come upon you and purge you of the false programming, the virus, the filth, and be cleaned, washed, come forth from the Holy Fire as Gold refined.

Choose this day, heaven or eternal hell!
