Psalms Chapter 67 Discussion

Psalm 67. THIRD attempt to post after I wiped out AGAIN like last tiime.. ugh

I lost Psalm 66 but this Psalm once again has a Millennium type of fulfillment as indicated in verse 4. Isaiah 9:6 speaks of Christ as "wonderful; counselor; mighty God; everlasting father; Prince of Peace" with surrounding verses describing how He rules with fairness and settles disputes impartially etc. The nations have hardly sung about this sort of thing as a whole yet.

Verse 2 and the "saving health" could be a reference to Petra where His people are physically preserved previously from Antichrist ( Rev. 12:14). It also could be how those who worship God are given a life like that of a tree ( Isaiah 65:22) where those who die at 100 will be considered as a child two verses previous. There will probably be physical life for those who don't rebel until the end of the 1000 years in the Eden like state of the earth but those who rebel will be immediately judged.

Again as in the previous Psalm; the crops will be multiplied (verse 6); and blessings and fear of the whole world will occur (verse 7). The lack of the fear of the Lord now as opposed to then certainly will be due to Christ Himself returning. Sadly though the unregenerate still will follow the Pied Piper's call when Satan makes his last stand at the end of that period immediately before the Great White Throne Judgment.

Mark 16:15 also shows how the Temple was designed to be a place of prayer for all nations (referring to multiple passages in the O.T. including Jeremiah; Isaiah; Chronicles and others).

This psalm is an appeal to

God to be merciful. And bless

His people and an exhortation for His people to praise Him. It also expresses the desire for the nations to come to know their God as the only true God.

Verse 6 is distinguishing the God of the Israelites from all the false gods of the nations.

The psalm writer is hoping for all people to come to the God of the Israelites and praise Him alone.

Hi Cheryl, I think this brings emphasis on the fact that Yah is now OURS. We were once aliens to the promises but now due to Christ we now have come to know Yah.

Thank you Lord for your daily mercies and grace you give to us daily. Thank you for showing me your majestic presence at all times through creation and my daily circumstances.

Help us to care for the lost, sick, poor, and destitute. Let me to desire your desires. Help us all, especially me, to take forth the gospel unto the the world and enlarge your church with disciples who will worship your Holy Name as befits your Greatness and Benevolence. May I worship you in Spirit and Truth today in everything I say, think or do. Thank you Lord Jesus for the words of grace and praise you have placed in my heart. Love you Lord.

Praise the Lord. What a wonderful, loving, merciful and good God we serve. It is good to know that God govern the World. The Government shall be upon God s shoulder and he will righteously Judge the World. All Leaders of the World, Cities, Counties and States will have to give in account how they treat God s Children. Amen!

All of the verses express praise and honor to God we should fear him even the more because of his salvation health in verse 2. I have been reading this Psalm's or a whole month. It gives me strength, peace, hope and joy. It brings a security that only God can give.

Verse 4~This verse is comforting because it assures us that Jehovah God will judge all righteously. He does not judge by what one appears to be on the outside.

Gods blessings to us cause our praises to break forth. Shouts of praise and dancing with joy show the Father how our hearts are delighted with His great goodness to us.

I believe that when we open our mouth and give God praise, the enemy has no choice but to flee. God's power is way too much for the enemy and the praises of the saints especially when we are on one accord is too for him. Plus when we give God praise The Lord will come in and He will give us strength. Like it said in His Word in Psalm 150, " Let everything that hath breath, praise the Lord

  • Annie on Psalms 67 - 8 years ago
Satan is never more nervous than when a child of God praises him with lips close. For then there are no words to use to his advantage.A silent Christian is the most potent by far. A silent Christian forces the devil to react. When we value time with God above all else the enemy is confounded. When we seek worship above all else the enemy is dismayed.

When I read this I can't help but think about our country's need of the Lord God. This should be written on government walls and inscribed on plaques across the U.S. If we call ourselves a Godly nation then this Psalm should be our motto.
  • Timothy Wayne George on Psalms 67:5 - 11 years ago
Let all the people praise thee. O God let all the people praise thee. Twice the Psalmist said this, and it tells us, that when all the people praise God, blessing will come down from heaven. Let the redeemed of the Lord say so. God inhabits the praises of His children.
  • David Adeniyi on Psalms 67 - 12 years ago
Praise is comely to God. God inhabit the praise of His people. Praise is the cheapest way to reach God
  • Mom on Psalms 67 - 13 years ago
How often we forget to praise our God for blessings given to us! It is so much easier to wail and cry when things don't go our way; when prayers are answered or divine intervention happens we often forget to bless Him and give Him credit.
