Psalms Chapter 50 Discussion

Wanda, Gods word is clear that salvation is by grace through faith, not of ourselves, a gift from God, not of works. Ephesians 2:8-9. It also says in 1st John that we can KNOW we have eternal life. The Gospel is in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4. Read that. But, Christ died for YOU on the cross shedding his blood for the forgiveness of your sins. He rose again three days later according to the scriptures. Do you believe that? All you have to do to have eternal life is trust Christ. Believe he did it for you. Do you believe it? If yes, then you are saved! Salvation is a free gift offered to you and you receive it by faith. Your belief of the gospel of Jesus Christ is the sole basis of your salvation and the surety you have it forever!

Psalm 50. Once again; this Psalm is prophetic and has some overlapping themes of the previous one; as well as the next Psalm. Zion is described here in verse 2 as to where "God hath shined." That could be from the heavenly city or the mountain here on earth when He comes. Gathering the saints who have made a covenant with me by sacrifice sounds like the Rapture; and also reminds us of the sentiment of a "broken and contrite spirit" spoken of in Psalm 51:17.

The purpose of the tine of "Jacob's trouble" ( Jeremiah 30:7) seems to be the meaning of verse 7. Verse 8 interestingly seems to indicate that despite the sacrifice of Christ meaning any future ones to cover sins are futile; the Lord allows this in the Tribulation for a time. This would probably be to bring Satan's plans into fruition; the final "Abomination of Desolation" to be installed; and the realization right before Messiah returns who Christ really is. These verses can be examined further: Daniel 11:30-31; and Zechariah 13 and 14 in their entirety.

There still will be; as the last chapters of Ezekiel indicate a final Millennial Temple where apparently as a memorial or for ceremonial cleansing for those still in earthly bodies will need to worship around those glorified saints and Christ Himself; lest they be consumed.

Verses 10 through 13 show the eventual fuility of animal sacrifices. Verse 14 shows as Psalm 51 does about offering a sacrifice of praise; and verse 16 reminds us of Deut. 4:30 when there is hope even in Tribulation for those who cry out. Verses 16 through 22 describe the fate of the wicked; always contrasted with the righteous in scripture and always needed for the complete Gospel of salvation as well. The righteous in the last verse once again are called to praise; but with the stipulation of keeping his "conversation aright". Isaiah 33:14 asks us who can dwell with (or in the presence of) everlasting fire? It mentions "speaking rightly" in the next verse.

Jeanette may i give you my take on the order of Gods Business...The 2 Covenants ...1st was the Old Covenant, redemption by the blood of bullls and goats...The levitical Priest hood....But God found fault with the Levitical priesthood....Promising a New Covenant by his own blood....A 2 nd Covenant by the blood of the The lamb of God... Acts 20:28....But they had to be in order as 1 st and 2 nd...That we might see the futility of mans righteousness via the blood of bulls and goats...The Levitical Priesthood....vs the Melchizedek Priesthood....An everlasting Covenant ( Kingdom )...David comes to mind There was none righteous no not one under this levitical Priesthood...Behold the lamb of God that taketh away the sins of the world...The 1st Covenant answers to the night light a lesser light...But the 2 nd Covenant is like day light a GREATER LIGHT and there will be no night there where we are going...The Kingdom...It also answers to the 2 words the written word and the living word...1 is death and 1 is life as my words are spirit and life....But the letter is the written word and no eternal life in written words...a killer... The written word is truly manna but they all died in the wilderness ...But the 2 nd Covenant is his flesh and blood the living Words and if any man eats of my flesh and blood he will neva die....But this 2 nd covenant is hid from the wise and prudent but reveled unto babes and sucklings...Until the book is opened....AND GOD POURS OUT OF HIS SPIRIT ON ALL FLESH... Joel 2 :28...I will know them ALL from the least to the greatest... Jeremiah 31:34...k lemme go.

Hi Jeannette. In Psalm 50:21, the phrase "I will set them in order", has a strong legal inference. It's like when a lawyer is spending much time in preparing his defence of a case; all aspects of the case needs to be considered, even knowing the objections or approaches resorted to by the other legal team.

So in this Psalm, God is declaring the sins of the people, which sins they tried to 'hide under the carpet' & think that God would miss noticing them. God says that 'He isn't naive or fickle as man is, but all things are open & bare before Him. They are not only noticed by Him but He will punish them based on His meticulous irrefutable evidence which they cannot deny. God sets all Israel's sins in order (clearly & undeniably) before them.

1 Tim 4:4 For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:5 For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.6 If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ,

acts 10:14 4But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean. 15And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common. 16This was done thrice: and the vessel was received up again into heaven.

that pretty much answers that question

AMEN!!!! Asaph's Psalm...I'm just SO thankful that the Psalmists of the LORD's had problems with people that suffer from the same spiritual disEase today that they did back then. Satan LOATHES his OWN children! For if he loved them, as he lies to say he does, wouldn't he want not them to suffer, but to spend eternity...above? In Hell there will be torment--it was made for him, NOT THEM. But many snared by this serpent...will be burning forever...as him. Like father...like daughter. Like son, like mom.... But that is to say--the opposite is true for SOME! Surely I know examples, and the LORD GOD's Son teaches us this: "And a man's enemies, shall be..." from whence?

Thank you to those who created and those who maintainthis website...it is an help meet for those like me!

    Love ya'll!

    Ciao!

Christianity of course began with Jesus Christ and after His death, resurrection & ascension into Heaven. The word 'Christian' was at first a derogatory term given by unbelievers to this new 'religious' following: people of The Way ( Acts 9:2, 24:14): in reference to the (new) way they lived. They were also called 'Christians', or Christ's ones/people, first in Antioch ( Acts 11:26). We continue to be called Christians today as just another religious group. But unlike other 'religious' groups, it is only through faith & trust in Jesus Christ, we receive new life (a re-birth), whereas in other religions, they have to apply self effort or self pain to try to gain God's favour & paradise. Sad.

FAUSTO: in the KJV Bible, most of the chapters give a brief historical comment on what was happening; some mention the writer of them. There are reference Bibles that have a lot more information.

I used to skim through too lol, but now I read those first.

1 Peter 4:17 "Judgment begins at the house of God","The fields are white and ready for harvest". Satan final days are very near. There is nothing hid that shall not be revealed. Christ calls all people to come and eat of the bread of life, and drink of his body his blood shed for the sins of the world. There is salvation in none other. Eternal life awaits those who believe His word. In the last days God will pour out His spirit upon all flesh. Will you be able to receive it If you are not sure of these things than how will you believe in heavenly things. There is ONE intercessor between God and man, the man Christ Jesus. Read Job. Satan has no power than what is given from above! confess Him

With the uncertainty of life & what the next day or hour brings, your pressing enquiry to Christ's salvation offer, comes at the right time. Many people say they believe in God & that is enough. But that is not enough, as even the apostle James reminds us in James 2:19, "Thou believest there is one God; thou doest well; the devils also believe, and tremble". And the devil & his demons know that their time is short ( Rev 12:12) and it is a fearful thing to fall into the Hands of the Living God ( Heb 10:31). You are near to God because you love Him & want to know His Way of Salvation - the devil also knows the way but will never take it & tries his hardest to prevent others doing so. God bless.

What a great psalm to read and pray daily. Keeps you in perspective of who God is vs those who are trying to destroy our way of life. Verse 15 gives me the victory I need daily and right this second. Was today's word on line. (4/14/2020).

Read The gospel of John Chapter 3! These words you ask are Nicodemus exact words "what must I do to be saved". The gift of salvation is given to us in Jesus Christ. When you confess your sins, He is faithful and just to forgive you your sins. Baptism is a sign to the world that you have given yourself to HIM! Repentance is the beginning of your journey, into a everlasting life in Him! Your love for His word is all you need, Her does the rest! . Baptism doth now save us. Your confession is what He wants. You can be baptized in your bathtub! A fellow believer can baptize u using these words. "I baptize you in the name of the Father ,the Son. and Holy Spirit". God Bless You on your journey!

This is my testimony before God justified me: I was not raised in church and neither did I believe in the Lord God. I thought I was a pretty good fellow But I was still a sinner. But thank God that one day he crossed my path with Jesus of Nazareth! Ever since I accepted him my entire life has changed because I am no longer a wicked sinner, but am saved by his grace! Though I am not perfect and still deserve to rot in Hell, I can say with full assurance that I am on my way to Heaven. I pray that God would open your eyes to His salvation and save you! Call upon the name of JESUS, bow before him as the king and Lord of your life. Repent of your ways and be born again. The LORD(Jesus) loves you!
  • Solomon on Psalms 50 - 4 years ago
Hey Teresa, I can not tell you all that salvation means in a short paragraph but know that Salvation is by one name, JESUS CHRIST. He and the Father are one and you must call upon Christ to save you From Sin, Death, and Hell for he payed the ultimate price and suffered for all men that we may be saved! I am glad that you believe in God! But be careful for many may claim to believe but are not truly saved ( James 2:19). I encourage you to read Ephesians 2:8 and really that whole chapter! Also a simple way to explain salvation is that you must Hear the word ( Rom. 10:17) and then Believe ( John 3:16). Repent ( Acts 17:30), and Confess that he is LORD ( Rom. 10:10).

It is no longer Jehovah or the God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob and whatever else you want to call him from the OT. It is now the God and Father of Jesus Christ Ephesians 1:3 1st Peter 1:3. Jesus the Son of God came John 3:16 and God arose his Son from the dead. Acts 3:13-15. Jesus came and died and arose from the dead. Old things are passed away behold all things become new. 2nd Cor 5:17

Above Jehovah GOD cries out to all. Later, 100's of years later, for the ... time, GOD cries out again through John or book of Revelation. Each cry is offering us mercy and salvation. GOD always give timely notice, warning, then keep HIS words and promises to all, both the saved and unsaved.
