  • Hunger and Thirst For More of Jesus - In Reply on Psalms 23:2 - 3 years ago
Jesus said "I AM the Bread of Life".

The Word of God, is bread.

Jesus told satan out in the desert on a 40 day fast: IT IS WRITTEN..........

    Satan lost every argument.

We need to be so full of the Bible, that satan doesn't have a chance to deceive us.

    Two scriptures work well together:

1 Perfect Love (Jesus) Casts out...Fear (big demon)

2 Fear hath Torments (he has other demons that torment us.

Jesus gives us the Authority to use His Name, and His Word: to bind the demons,

    Cast them into outer darkness, forbid their return;

To set the captives free, to set at liberty those who are bruised and to heal them.

Tiny testimony: one time when I was a baby Christian, I saw myself in a vision of what Jesus saw in me.

"A big table was laid out with fabulous food: milk, meat, pizza, barbecue...". I had my elbows up and was dragging food over to my plate, eating like I was starved. To my right I hear this most wonderful laughing. I look up a sec to see other people's eyes bugged out. I slump down with a chicken leg in my fist and I look to see who's laughing: it was Jesus! He was leaning back in His throne laughing with me; not at me."

Jesus wants us to have a healthy appetite for His Word; the Bible. Ask and The Holy Spirit will Teach you EVERYTHING.

Earlier that day an older Christian saw something I was reading and he shouted at me loud, "you cannot read college level Bible!!!! Get back into Bible Milk". He stalked off and left me feeling really stupid.

( I had been reading how the Body of Christ is to work together.)

There is a reason to choose the Holy Spirit to be your Teacher; he helps us Pray; He tells us how to war and win.

If this encourages you to wade in deep with Jesus, the you are the one Jesus was looking at. You can have as much as you desire. He rejoices in your efforts. We are HIS BODY. If you draw close to Him, He will draw close to you.

Best of all pleasure you can have, is to hear Jesus's laugh. He's real.

The Holy Ghost spoke the words "still waters" while in prayer. I know that God wants me to rest in Him, he has a great plan for my life. First, I must taste of His goodness and know that He is God!

23 - But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeker such to worship Him.

24 - God is a Spirit: and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth.

Lk. 10:20 - Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in Heaven.

Lk. 10:21 - In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in they sight.

Psalms 23 is all about our loving Father who created us even before the foundation of the world . I wore a pendant around my neck with the 23 psalm engraved on it while I was serving in Vietnam. Just like all the other words of God ,inspired by the Holy Ghost , according to Romans 12 : verse 2 ,we are called to prove God's Good , Acceptable , and perfect will , which is his word . To prove means to bring forth evidence , without a shadow of doubt by living it , by speaking it and can only be done by believing it ,that is by faith . The first 2 words in Hebrew 11: 1 says , Now Faith . Websters dictionary defines now as the time immediately preceding the present . My point is this , we can wear psalms 23 on a pendant around our necks and read it every day , however to live it out with the NOW kind of faith, proves God's complete word . Amen !

Alex comments about a little Child that is gona lead us he is same CHILD that is gonna rule All nations. Humanity is the Woman that is gonna birth the Children which is us sinners we need a new heart and a new spirit which is the H.G that is gona lead us, Thats y the new birth is so important we are gona birth a spritual Child which is the Child of Promise, Unless ya receive the Kingdom of God as LIL Child impling a heavenly birth thats y the sower of that heavenly seed wants to sow his precious seed in our hearts initiating a BABY Christ in us. my lil Children of whom i travail in birth till CHRIST IS FORMED IN YOU. Thats how he will rule ALL NATIONS he is gona be born in humanity . Jesus said the field was the WORLD where that good seed will be sown, thats y MANY of the prophets saw the world in travail and birth PAINS, WE ARE ALL GONA BIRTH baby Christ thats y he always refered to himself as THE SON OF MAN our fruit unto God is a baby Christ . That is gona rule all nations. Even the Gentiles are gonna birth this Child Thats y Isaiah said thou ( the H.G BABE ) shall suck dry THE BREASTS OF THE GENTILES . Jesus said that which is BORN of the Spirit is SPIRIT thats the H.G. babe that is gonna be born in US That new born babe desiring the sincere milk of the word Paul mentions, There is a baby Christ in your future and its God that is gonna do it, I will make a new covenant etc its all GOD, as DAVID said its the lord's doings and is precious in our eyes. Kings shall be your nursing fathers and Queens shall be your nursing mothers, kings and queens are just symbolic language for men and women the world OVER that are gona birth a baby Christ in their hearts and mind, remember Jeremiah saw ALL MEN in travail and birth pains. His word is his Seed he said b/c i have spoken these words (his Seed ) sorrows have filled your hearts sorrows imply a spritual pregnancy the Child is the H.G. the Child of Promise, Unless ya receive the KINGDOM OF GOD AS A LIL Child, a BIRTH.
  • Be Careful Handling Scriptures on Psalms 23 - 3 years ago
Oh...so maybe we should rewrite the Book of Revelation and DELETE that scripture? So you can satisfy your desire to be right.

    Revelation 22:18-19

    18. For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall ADD unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:

    19. And if any man shall TAKE AWAY from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the BOOK OF LIFE, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

Comment by Mishael: if people would READ the Book of Revelation,

They might not post comments that are NOT word for word, what is stated in the Bible. (Word of God)

One scripture does not cancel out other scriptures.

    2 Timothy 3:16

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

    Lets have the Bible interpret:

    Psalms

    Chapter 23

1 (A Psalm of David.) The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

    ( Isaiah 40:11)

    ( John 10:11)

( 1 Peter 2:25)-For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.

2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

( Rev 7:15-17)-For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.

3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

( Psalm 19:7-9)-the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof.

7 The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.

8 The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.

9 The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.

4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

    ( Psalm 3:3-8)

5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

    ( Revelation 21:6,7)-

6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.

7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.

6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

    ( Luke 6:36,37)

36 Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.

37 Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:

Suicide is murder but, whether that individual is sent to hell or not is totally up to GOD.The Father is very intelligent and knows the heart of one who commits suicide, as he knows the hearts of all of us. GOD takes into account of everything that lead the individual to self murder. His thoughts and ways are nowhere near ours, therefore we can't know what will happen to anyone who takes their own life. Our Father is righteous and fair and takes everything into consideration and I believe will judge accordingly

  • SUICIDE and SPIRITUAL DEATH - In Reply on Psalms 23 - 3 years ago
If they die in their sins, they will go to hell.

The person is depressed, fearful, tormented in mind and emotions; they do not know if God even cares about them.

No one likes to talk about this. I do. That person is oppressed by demons that are sent, to take that person to hell. Satan is the author of confusion. Depression demons usually have Death in tow. Only a praying Christian can STOP IT. Our prayers can drive out any demon that raises its head To challenge us. You bind that demons works and cast it into outer darkness in Jesus Name! And you ASK GOD to release the angels of heaven to encircle that person with light and peace. Quote psalm 91 and 51. Every day. Don't stop.

Suicide dot Org is for military but it's easily remembered; to go to to find resources.

Me: write the persons name on sticky notes and give them to praying grandmothers at several churches. Praying grandmoms look like big ole drill sergeants, spiritually. Never disdain elderly church mothers. Hug them!

They know how to release some fire from heaven. Praise God!

Since it is not addressed much in Church; Google search: 'suicide Bible'. Find a Christian church that has this teaching. No frills, no personalities: just Bible. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you!!!

Note to all Churches and Pastors: TEACH people that the devil doesn't wear a red costume and say Boo. He hates God and especially people whom God loves. Even people with both arms covered in need marks! TEACH spiritual warfare! Even churched kids get in trouble and need a prayer that could knock asteroids off course.

Put away your notebook of old trusty sermons, and get hooked into the Holy Spirit who delivers fresh manna and Meat, every meal. Skip some meals and go sit in an actual closet with the Holy Spirit. Ask for NEW FOOD. Pray for your sheep! Even those out wandering off into Apostacy! Ask for fresh Anointing. Groan till you get it.

Stand up for Jesus. Kick in Satans teeth.

    Mishael

Donna, there are examples in the Bible of those who suicided. One is in 1 Samuel 31:4, when King Saul wanted his armour-bearer to kill him as he was wounded in the battle. He refused, so Saul "fell upon his own sword" & his armour-bearer seeing this & the implications that would have upon him, also did likewise. There is also Samson ( Judges 16:26-30) who with his great strength from the Lord, pulled down the pillars of the building that he was prisoner in, thus killing himself & many Philistines that were gathered there. And then we have Judas Iscariot ( Matthew 27:3-5) who hanged himself after he realized his sin in betraying Jesus.

So even though we have instances of suicide, I don't believe the Bible ever talks specifically about it as being sin. Why we say that suicide is sin, is because by definition, it is self-murder & wilful murder in any form is sin. I know that one who contemplates suicide does so under very trying mental, emotional & physical conditions - a good friend of mine having taken his own life because of severe multiple sclerosis. I tried my best to encourage him & give him hope, but the pain & loss of movement was too much & made existence meaningless. Every avenue should be resorted to so that such a desperate person may receive help & counsel & most cities have a Lifeline phone number to assist.

There are four types of love (in Greek) given in the Bible which is more useful than the single word we have in English.

    a. Agape: this is the highest form of love that one can give or receive; it implies an everlasting, sacrificial love. 1 John 3:16, 4:8, 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 are few examples.

    b. Storge: the love that shows familial deep care & concern between members of a family. Obviously, agape can also be experienced in families, but storge is that general love that family care & devotion applies to. Storge is not a word seen in Scripture, though its opposite is seen, e.g. Romans 1:31 "astorgous" & 2 Timothy 3:3.

    c. Phileo: the love, warmth & affinity shared by close friends. John 11:36, Romans 12:10.

    d. Eros: a romantic, sexual love, made especially lovely within marriage. This word is not used in Scripture, though implied in the reading of Song of Solomon & warnings of unrestrained love (porneia) going beyond the bounds of morality.

In the Old Testament, when you see 'angel ( Angel) of the Lord', it is the preincarnate Christ, Jesus Himself. Unless otherwise named (as Gabriel in the book of Daniel).

In the KJV Bible, in Psalm 23, there is differentiation between "I shall" and "I will." Is there anything about either the Hebrew or English usage four centuries ago that hints at the reason for this differentiation?

Dale, the Bible Trivia might be a fun thing to do & a test of your Bible knowledge, but please don't let it be a yardstick to determine your knowing God & His Will for your life. I think most of us would fail somewhere along the line as no one can be expected to know the content of all the Bible Books, chapters & verses. Some questions will be easy for you - others may find them difficult. I feel that it is a nice inclusion but rather, to drive us back into God's Word to learn more about Him, the world we live in & the needy people around us.

Knowing God's Will is a vast subject that can't be dealt with here. There are books on this subject, the one by J.I. Packer has been popular & useful. However, the only real way is to spend quality time reading the Bible slowly & carefully, talking to God about what you read & what burdens your heart. It is the work of the Holy Spirit to both teach you & to apply the Truths to your heart & life. As well, from my own experience, patience is another key. We live in a world that "wants it & wants it now" - the Spirit's Word & Timing for us is not regulated by our moods & our time clock. To correctly wait for help & direction, we must spend time understanding God's already revealed Will for us in His Word & to "Keep in step with the Spirit": surprisingly, another of Packer's publications!

The Angel that wrestled with Jacob was an angel. Not Jesus. The statement itself tells you it was a angel. Not a man and not Jesus.
