This powerful psalm is one of those psalms that we read very often in those days, in the church where I grew up from. It s opening statement reflects and demonstrates, what the heavens and the firmament has been busy doing since creation! It is indeed a weighty psalm, as it admonishes and provides the discerned, with spiritual awareness of what the heavens and the firmament has been up to since the beginning of time! There are many things that we can learn from this Psalm 19. Interestingly, the fact that the we can sing and pour praises upon praises unto God, are indications of His grace and mercy that has been administered and shown unto us, as children of the Almighty God. As a matter of fact, God s lovingkindness is such that it is so intoxicating and it is beyond human comprehension. Hence, this Psalm 19, even, as ordinary as it may seem to the natural man, but yet, it is truly a beautiful psalms, laced with heavens declaration of God s faithfulness and also meant to draw the righteous towards the honour of the God of heaven.

This word was just what I needed this morning It s amazing how God corrects reproves and chastens those He loves We must weigh the words that we are about to say or now due to texting and social media write before they come out of our mouths Because God is listening and is steady writing down everything that is coming out of our mouths And what proceeds out of the mouth is directly related to what is in our hearts So what are we thinking about Is it godly Does it glorify God Or is it filthy or having evil thoughts about someone For me I want the Lord to create in me a clean heart and renew in me a right spirit that the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart will be acceptable in His sight That Jesus s Spirit dwells in me and that I walk on this earth as He walked humbly quietly and faithfully Blessed be the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ

I was listening to a preacher and he used this verse in his massage and it reminded me of evolution debates where evolutionist say the earth goes around the sun and bible believers say the earth sits still and the sun goes around the earth I was wondering if there was any way a Christian scientist could prove the sun goes around the earth because of this verse And what I mean is scientifically can it be proven by what this verse says I think there should be a way to show a heat signature of other planets because the verse says nothing is hid from the heat thereof Just so you know I m saved and I go by faith not sight I believe if God said it then God is right no matter what

We see evidence of God in the starry heavens. The heavensthe sun, moon, and starstestify to Jehovah Gods power and wisdom.

I'm surprised nobody comments on verses 7-11. As I look at the meanings for some for some of these words like perfect, as in the Law is perfect. Some of the meanings are moral, complete, full, sincerely, sound, without spot, undefiled, upright, whole. (Sounds like our Messiah).
Sure, as His testimony is sure, meaning build up, support, to foster, morally to be true, trusty, turn to the right. (Sounds like our Messiah).
Right, as in His statues are right, meaning straight, convenient, equity, upright.
Pure, as in His commandments are pure, meaning beloved, choice, clean, clear.
Clean, as in the fear of the Lord is clean, meaning pure in a physical, chemical, ceremonial or moral sense, fair, pureness.
True & righteous, as in His judgments are true & righteous altogether, meaning stability, certainty, truth, trustworthiness, assured, establishment.
Righteous, meaning make right in a moral sense, cleanse, justice, turn to righteousness.
And as verse 11 says we are warned through them, and also by keeping them there is great reward.
As we can see these verses show us the moral character of the Father & the Son, so when we are to put on Christ wouldn't we want to do the commandments, the laws, the testimonies, and the statues. Just as Abraham did as stated in Gen. 26:5. And he is the Father of the faithful.

Faith pleases God. Meditate in His word day and night. Then the words that come out of your mouth will be exactly what God says. The joy of the Lord is our strength. Joy is inside experience while happiness is an outward experience. We are redeemed because we have been bought back from sin, sickness, disease, hell and the grave, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Praise God !!!!!

The psalmist, David is recorded in the Bible as knowing the heart of God. David was a real worshipper of God and he declares the awesomeness of Jehovah, our Loving and Powerful God. Indeed, he expresses his awe of God's manifest glory through the works of His hands. The heavens declare the Glory of God. Imagine the wonderous creation of God, the galaxies, the sun, the moon, the earth. I've tried many times to understand how the daylight transforms to the night, but I am marveled at The Excellence and Mysterious handiwork of the Most High God....its illuminating ...Glory be to God in the Highest forever more....

The heavens are so brillant and full of order that they reflect the one who created them, God. Just taking the time to think about what stars are made of and how there are so many stars and galaxies, but yet they are all in order the way Jehovah God set them. It really shows His magnificence, wisdom, and power. It is really amazing when you sit and think about it.

  • Sheree on Psalms 19 - 10 years ago
God can speak creation into existence(something out of nothing) because he is God! God can create on a much grander scale!! Humans are limited so we create on a lesser scale. Example God made the moon, we create on a lesser scale and make a spaceship to visit the moon. There are parts of God creation that we can not duplicate. Everything that we make is from his creation. To reject God as the Creator is one of their tactics to suppress the truth so they won't have to be accountable to him on his creation. When guests visit your home, they are on your property. On your property, they will have to follow certain rules that you have established in your home.
God is no different about establishing rules for us on how we conduct ourselves on His creation. But if we say that there is no God then we can be god in our own eyes and we do what we want.
  • Bishop Ronald Martin on Psalms 19:2 - 10 years ago
Day by day and night by night God has a word just for you...don/t miss it.It could be leading your life and certainly allowing us to have fellowship with our Creator which is why we were created...it please God greatly to pray ( talk to God ) and meditate day and night on his word as God talks to us.Jesus asked his deciples.." Who do you say Ii am " ? And when Peter said " you are the Christ..the Son of the living God !! Jesus replied " well done..flesh and blood did not reveal this to you , but the holy spirit !! Thus , God has revelation knowledge for all those who are saved and obeying his word...God/s unlimited knowledge has things to tell us that he has never told anybody..why? Because he loves us no more tha he loves Enoch ,who stayed in fellowship with God and according to the book of Jude , Enoch was told about the 2nd coming of Christ way back in Genisis....now my friend..what does God want to say to you ? Day by day and night by night our Lord wants to share something with us..don/t miss it! May our Lord and Savoir Christ Jesus bless you and your family...from Bishop Ron

Sheree if you are making a claim against evolution or the original formation of Earth, you are contradicting yourself. You are correct in stating that something cannot come from nothing, but in the bible that is exactly what God does- he poofs Earth into existence out of nothing. And evolution is a lot more rational of a theory, because it involves gradual change from primordial sludge to modern animals rather than the "poof from dust because of God" theory the Bible presents, along with all of the irrefutable evidence for evolution. Also- even if your reasoning made sense, then where did God come from? If something cannot come from nothing, then the same logic must apply to God.
  • Sheree on Psalms 19 - 10 years ago
God is a Creator and he has created us with the ability to understand the creative process that is why we can make a spaceship. In our experiences of creating things know things just don't pop out of thin air so, we are without excuse. To reject God handy work of creation is to hold the truth in unrighteousness see Romans 1:18-25
