The Psalmist is saying a prayer in which he seems alone, and he is, until v.11. God stands with him as the remedy to his woes before a common enemy. The sword and hand of the Lord are under the control of God, but they have no hope of eternal life, as believers do.God's covenant with us is stronger than the powers of the lost of this world. Awakening with God is greater than all the things we face.

"Hear the right, O LORD, attend unto my cry, give ear unto my prayer, that goeth not out of feigned lips." Yet how much are people led down the path of hypocrisy right from the first day they are introduced to the Lord and the Christian religion! Just look at the way they pray; who "for a pretense make long prayers," while devouring the substance of the poor they are supposed to be caring for!

Recently I was in the hosp. for a wk. with flu/pneumonia - and I never get sick, even tho' I am 74. I wasn't upset with God, I was too busy being sick!! But as I got better He let me know He allowed it to happen - cont.

I want to be kept by the power of God and to be the apple of His eye. I also want to be hid under the shadow of His wing. My life is hid with Christ in God .
