No Precious Jewels or Earthly Treasures are worthy to be Compared with True WISDOM: Whether the concerns of Time or Eternity be Consudered: We must make Wisdom our Business: We must Venture all in it: And be willing to part with all for it: This WISDOM is the LORD JESUS CHRIST: AND HIS SALVATION: SOUGHT AND OBTAINED: BY FAITH AND PRAYER:
CHRIST IS THAT WISDOM: BY WHOM THE WORLDS WERE MADE: AMEN!

Verse 3 Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart: 4 So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man. Have you ever been away for years from a place you used to frequent and people have forgotten your name? A reminder to me to visit "mercy and truth" often so they're familiar with you and recognize you.

Thank God for his promise . All my life I have tried to live my life my way believing that I knew what was best for me , but I always fall short . This proverb teaches me that God is in control and all I have to do is surrender and believe that God is going to take care off me . I'm learning to be patient in prayer waiting on God and not being so impulsive in my actions.

Verse 27~Jehovah God wants us to be generous and here we are encouraged to do so because he knows the human tendency to hold back and lean towards selfishness.

"In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths." Proverbs 3:6 "My son, forget not my law but let thine heart keep my commandments: for length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee." We should use the things God has given us, for the things He made them. A good and honest heart, a good conscience, LETTING OUR HEART KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS: the things that the lusts of the flesh and the vanities of life war against, to bring us into sin and shame these are what we must guard and protect like a mother bear her whelps. We have the Word of God and the glorious glad tidings of Jesus Christ our Saviour entrusted to us, to bear with simplicity and sincerity before the eyes of the world. "From now on the kingdom of heaven suffers violence and the violent take it BY FORCE!" Walk in the Spirit, and walk in truth, with a heart continually in His Presence and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart!

Verses 31,32~ We must not envy the violent person or imitate any of his or her ways.

Verse 1~ Jehovah God wants us to make his laws a part of us and sink them deep down into our heart. If we do this our ways and words can be pleasing to God.

"Wisdom is in the action and the doing of what we know is right, according to the convictions and strivings of the Spirit with our conscience." And I should add; next to our moral convictions we also have to train our minds to be bright and attentive to the things we learn, and as Peter wrote in his Second Epistle that we should always have these things ready in remembrance to be able to do them.

God knows what He is doing. He created us. We reap what we sow.
  • A disciple on Proverbs 3 - 6 years ago
"The wise shall inherit glory: but shame shall be the promotion of fools." Wisdom is in the action and the doing of what we know is right, according to the convictions and strivings of the Spirit with our conscience. Foolishness disregards the fear and conviction, and takes the Satanic perverted stand of defiance against a good conscience, and meekness and goodness in the sight of God. The wise are the obedient, whose faith WORKS by love out of a clean heart, without stage-playing. Foolishness makes us criminals, and a grief to all with whom we have to do. Wisdom anticipates having to give account to God but fools believe that their pride and their fool companions will never be brought under subjection. The wise seek and search out the reason for things, and make full use of all that they have from God to be ready for His coming. The foolish take all the outward accoutrements, forms and methods in hopes that their show of agreement and subjection will suffice, and God will give them a pass. The Spirit of Truth and Fire of the Day shall prove what kind each of us are!

Susan; When God appeared to Solomon in a dream and told him to ask whatever he desired; Solomon's desire was to be able to shepherd the people of God with wisdom and understanding like his father David did. If you read the opening words of the Proverbs you can see this was his intention, and the Spirit of God's inspiration, to teach wisdom and give practical knowledge for a meaningful godly life.

Proverbs 3:1-7,11-12. This chapter is similar to the concept of Psalms 91. When we learn his commandments and do them, we are set free. I am awe struck; so, to answer the question about being frustrated with Psalms 91, no I'm not! Amen.
