Proverbs Chapter 28 Discussion

  • Brenda on Proverbs 28:13
Will: It means taking responsibility for one's actions and consciously choosing right from wrong.
  • Brianna vs27 on Proverbs 28
I love looking at scriptures that gives us insight into the personality of our God. Jehovah God encourages us to be generous as he is generous with us. In Satan's system, some people have a lot and some people have not enough. However, if those who have, give generously to those who are "poor" then, it brings out that our repayment comes from God himself and he will not allow us to lack anything. The best repayment comes from God who can gives us anything we desire according to his will. So, this motivates me to be generous as my circumstances allow. I can't support everyone, but I can try to be more generous with my time, energy, and even finances as God allows it.

Great stuff! The only way to start the day after prayer of course.
  • ANN - in Reply on Proverbs 28
Totally supports your giving commments. Whatever a child of God does ,it must be done unto the Lord. If giving, the

    person must give cheerfully. Blessings.
  • H. BLOUGH on Proverbs 28
YOU CAN NOT HIDE YOUR SIN FROM THE LORD. HE KNOWS WHO AND WHAT YOU ARE INSIDE AND OUT. WE CAN HIDE WHO WE REALLY ARE FROM OTHER PEOPLE AND PRETEND TO HAVE A REAL SALVATION BUT, NOT THE LORD. THIS SIMPLY MEANS STOP PRETENDING TO BE CHRISTIAN AND GET REAL WITH IT. SADLY MOST SELF PROFESSED OR SO CALLED CHRISTIANS ARE PRETENDING AND JUST PLAYING CHURCH. HOPE THIS HELPS.
  • A disciple on Proverbs 28
Will; When we are convicted of sin; if we are honest and pay attention to our conscience, if we fear God and are sorry for our sins and repent of them; then the Lord will have mercy and cleanse us from all our sins, and give us a new chance at life. But if we harden our hearts and callous over our conscience toward God, and ignore the warnings and conviction, then there is no forgiveness of sins.
  • Bruce on Proverbs 28
Will: One who hides his sin acts like he's doing nothing wrong.
  • Will on Proverbs 28
What does it mean, Proverbs 28:13
He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.?
  • Js - in Reply on Proverbs 28
If you hide your sins you will not succeed. If you confess your sins and reject them you will receive mercy.
  • BSP on Proverbs 28
Verse 5~If we seek Jehovah God will can understand everything that is needed to please him. He will help us in our understanding.
  • A disciple on Proverbs 28
"Whoso walks uprightly shall be saved: but he that is perverse in his ways shall fall at once. He that tills his land shall have plenty of bread: but he that follows after vain persons shall have poverty enough." Walking and working like a man made in the image of God and after God's own heart, doesn't allow deviation from what is right and good; but cultivates and works to produce by God's Word.
  • A disciple on Proverbs 28
"Evil men understand not judgment: but they that seek the Lord understand all things." Jesus said that He has many things to say to us, but that we cannot bear them just yet; that is, until we receive the Holy Spirit, who shall show us all things and guide us into all truth. The only one who wants men to stay stupid and uncapable, is the devil, who lusts after the throne of God, and to kill us.
  • Abednego on Proverbs 28
"A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent." v20. I love this verse because it motivates God's children to be faithful. Secondly, it's an advice to especially young people not to be hasty to be rich. Anyone who makes money hastily would have to cut corners.
  • Js - in Reply on Proverbs 28
New century version of proverbs 28:22 says selfish people are in a hurry to get rich and do not realize they will soon be poor...
  • A disciple on Proverbs 28
Frances; You misread it! The Scripture reads: "To have respect OF persons (not, 'for' persons) is not good: for for a piece of bread that man will transgress." Respect of persons means you favor one over another; respect for persons means you treat them with dignity. James chapter 2 shows very well what "respect of persons" means; and further likens it to murder to despise and mistreat the poor.
  • Frances Cantu on Proverbs 28
I did not understand chapter 28:21.To have respect for a person is not good. for for a piece of bread that man will tranpass
  • Js - in Reply on Proverbs 28
New century version of proverbs 28:21 says it is not good for a judge to take sides or show special favoritism , but some will sin for only a piece of bread...
  • Terhemen Haaga on Proverbs 28
God is always faithful to me
  • Rev.Bhoopsingh on Proverbs 28
Jesus loves all he is crucified for me.
  • Lilian on Proverbs 28
If we abide God and his words in our life we have everything we need. We need the Holy Spirit to connect with our Spirit . By the power of the Holy Spirit, his WORDS and his PEACE it passes all UNDERSTANDING. We have God's favour and mercy to enlighten other people's lives. Thank you Jesus for the blood . • Lynn on Proverbs 28
God is with us all . but if we are in the wrong place .and are not strong enough . temptation is an d always will be there to help you to submit.
  • MockingBird on Proverbs 28
To be bold is not what we think : To be bold is to be strong in God's word in the face of adversity : Not to be bold in the face of people that are our apponet : But to do as God leads , If we are in unbelief we will flee as the wicked !!
  • Stephen F. Zielski on Proverbs 28
The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the Righteous are BOLD AS A LION, AMEN. Shalom.
  • BSP on Proverbs 28
The one who turns away from listening to God but then tries to offer a prayer to God is something detestable to Him as verse 9 shows.
  • Jerry on Proverbs 28
V1, is one of my favorite verses in the Bible, i do not have to fear, because i know that I am doing that which is right in the eyes of God and man, and my conscience is clear, I can then be bold as a lion and make my stand for that which is right.
  • Sims on Proverbs 28
Bill re v 13 I agree up to a point, let me explain. And let me start at the end, God deals in judgement and mercy. A persons conscience will always condem him her especially when one hardens their heart. The Holy Spirit convicts each and every one of us about our own personal predisposition. Christians need to know and remember, flesh was bad when we were non-believers, it's the same now that we're believers, in Christ. And there is now NO condemnation, we are new creatures in Christ. I'm just encouraging people to be blameless across the board in their daily life. God bless you all for we are His kin, tasked to love one another, amen.
  • Ruby Dixon on Proverbs 28:14
i recognize that our God addresses us in different ways sometimes man, woman, child, peoples, nations, but when he says man i think he is addressing human thereby i feel convicted and want to fear HIM with Loving fear and obey Him...
  • if you are not save..you will not understand the bible..God said those who live a worldly life will not know..me or my son..you half to repent and ask the lord to forgive you of your sins..and put your love, faith, trust in our lord and savior..or you will never understand the bible..
  • Anthony C on Proverbs 28
God is so GOOD His Spirit teaches us how to live Holy on a day to day basis in the book of Proverbs. He gives us a chance to get whatever is not right in His eyes to get it right so no excuses. May God Bless anyone who reads this comment.
