  • Rebecca cruz on Proverbs 27
Verses 5,6: sometimes we are afraid to share with someone we care about what they are doing wrong for fear of rejection, but we are doing them more harm by our silence. We need to for the opportunity then share what it maybe then pray some more and step back let God be God. If they don't listen you have done your part to watch out for their good.

Proverbs 27:2 causes me to search myself to see if I have fallen into the habit of self promotion. I am certain I have from time to time. This scripture leads me to ask the Lord to forgive me, seek wisdom and repent.

  • Sonja S. on Proverbs 27:6
Correction is protection, and having a teachable spirit will always point us in the direction of the will of God for our lives. God works through people with uncommon courage, and He will always provide for His children. You may be brave, but at some point in your life, you will inevitably hit that wall. The Word of God says in 2Sam. 17:10, "And even he who is brave, whose heart is as the heart of a lion, will utterly melt. Yield to the faithful friend:o

  • You guys are right! Also, Thanks for explaining it in more detail; I like how you made it so clear. I understood the proverb, but the literal help with iron, that is really cool, and countenance defined is helpful too. I always think of face, and the expression on your face, how it is often indicative of what is in your heart. You guys are cool! I Love Christians! Instant brothers and sisters!
  • Timothy Wayne George on Proverbs 27
Proverbs 27:19 As in water face answers to face, so the heart of man to man. We must always be willing to rebuke a man to his face, and his heart will receive it better. Too many people will gossip about a man, rather than give the rebuke that he needs. Open rebuke is better than secret love.

CHAPTER 27 of FUTURE and FRIENDS
    * FUTURE: Ch 27:1 Starts out on how not to look at the future and the chapter ends on how to look at the future vs.23-27; By tending to your business with sober gravity, because wealth vanishes and governments change, but wisdom is a constant value enduring forever. Wow! What wisdom it is to have your needs met from a source not attached to "changing" currency and governments! How current are these proverbs today! Our script money is becoming like momopoly money and our nation is nearing the exit. Also in vs,12; wisdom enables you to be prudent and dodge future evil and hide yourself. Zephaniah 2;3 & Psalms 32;7 He is our hiding place.
    * FRIENDS: Abraham was a friend of God and Jesus said," Ye are my friends Jo. 15;14&15. What an honor to be a friend of Jesus! I see Jesus, in the attributes of (friend), as in vs.6; Kisses of an enemy are deceitful, speaks of Judas. Faithful are the wounds of a friend, speaks of Jesus. He was wounded for our transgressions and by his stripes we are healed. Isaiah 53; And one shall say unto him, what are the wounds in thine hands? Then he shall answer those with which i was wounded in the house of my friends. Zechariah 13;6. So faithful are the wounds of Jesus, that salvation, healing, & all blessings for all eternity depends on those wounds.
    * And vs.9; Jesus is our counsler and his words are sweet, as perfume rejoicing the heart. Vs.17 Iron sharpeneth iron Hebrews 4;12 sharper than any 2 edge sword. Vs.19 As in water face answers to face, so the heart of man to man. 1Tim.2;5 For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. Being a friend of Jesus is then; iron to iron, face to face, man to man, glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord. 2 Cor.3;18. agape -- reggie ---
  • Linda on Proverbs 27
PROVERBS CHAPTER 27: IT IS BETTER TO HAVE AN OPEN REBUKE THAN LOVE THAT IS HIDDEN. WOUNDS OF A FRIEND CAN BE TRUSTED BUT KISSES FROM AN ENEMY CAN BE MISLEADING. A BIRD THAT WANDERS FROM HER NEST IS LIKE A MAN THAT WANDERS FROM HOME. DO NOT BRAG ABOUT YOURSELF TOMORROW BECAUSE YOU DO NOT KNOW WHAT ANOTHER DAY MAY BRING.
