  • Br.Olivier Paul on Proverbs 19
As is been said in Proverbs 19:11; "the discretion of a man deferred his anger; and it is his glory to pass over a transgression"
This is a wise choice, otherwise, we will regret our action.
  • Topel Sweeney on Proverbs 19
19:27 "Cease, my son, to hear the instruction that causeth to err from the words of knowledge."

Selective hearing is the Christian way sometimes! : )
  • A lot of benefits to live a righteous life so that death will not be our portion.

Wisdom is not found in phylosophy, neither in university!but in the Bible,so all of us we can be wise, because wisdom is to put into practice what we already know! no matter how little is your background, put it into practice and grow in grace and knowledge.
  • SUZANNE on Proverbs 19
A loving father will teach his own in the way to go. I thank my heavenly father for everyone of his instructions and to top it off, for sending his one and only son my Lord Jesus, that I would be able to be made whole in all my brokenness, as a human being. Thank you Pa-pa and thank you Jesus.
  • Timothy Wayne George on Proverbs 19
Proverbs 19 A false witness shall not go unpunished, and whosoever speaks lies shall perish. God wants us to be people with integrity, who will speak the truth, and live the way God would have us to go. He hath told thee O man what is good for thee: to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly before thy God. Our courts will be able to administer justice, when people will walk with integrity in the land.

The book of Proverbs is a great way to start your day. It will nourish the idle soul. I heard this idea from a pastor speaking about it on the radio. Let it work on you. Your daily reading will be your feeding.

an evangelist from KENYA named LUIS MENSA turned me on to this idea of reading a chapter of proverbs a day according to todays date .31 chapters 31 days coincidence ....over the years of reading this chapter ,today the word "value" comes to mind .where is my value system at?JESUS LOVES YOU!
  • Bonnie on Proverbs 19
8 He that getteth wisdom loveth his own soul: he that keepeth understanding shall find good.
Where do we get wisdom and understanding? From God's words. He preserved them for us and promises to teach us and lead us with His Words. Read Psalms 119. The entire chapter is about his words. I think that there is one verse in the whole chapter that doesn't refer to his words, or his precepts, or his statutes, etc. Our God is amazing.....
  • Reggie on Proverbs 19
Here in ch.19;4, wisdom reveals how and what is used by God to get the guy back in ch18;1, to go on his quest for seeking and pursuing wisdom, in the first place.Separating oneself goes before the pursuit! So in vs.4, we can see that "separation", froms God's viewpoint to usward is automatically accomplished in your poverty, for being poor and sensing a severe weakness will both work "separation" and one's desire for wisdom from God! Vs.4 -"Wealth maketh many friends; but the poor is separated from his neighbor." Also back in ch.14;20 " The poor is hated even of his own neighbor; but the rich hath many friends."
When i was making $6,000 a week, i found it hard to drive my pickup, for all the friendly cell calls! My oldest son then would call often and i was so full of friends, with invites to come here and go there. But now having gone 30 months with no work and having lost business, home, boats, tools, and all credit- no one calls! It's so quite! I don't even need a phone! I see being poor automatically brings "separation", its akin to financial leporsy. And in Vs.7, " All the brethren of the poor do hate him: how much more do his friends go far from him? And now my heart, being not bitter but hungry for God's wisdom - hence the pursuit.
Ch.19;1 "Better is the poor that walketh in his integrity, than he that is perverse in his lips, and is a fool." Walking in integrity is following Jesus. Jesus said, " in Revelation 3;17 to the Laodiceans, "because thou sayest, i am rich, and increased with goods - that they were really poor, blind, and naked." But in Revelation 2;9 He said," i know your tribulation and poverty, (but thou art rich)" I would rather have Jesus say to me, "you are rich" rather than, "you are poor blind and naked."
Proverbs 13;7 states, " There is that maketh himself rich, yet hath nothing: there is that maketh himself poor, yet hath great riches."
God's Wisdom is indeed "GREAT RICHES".
  • Linda on Proverbs 19
PROVERBS CHAPTER 19: BETTER TO BE POOR AND HAVE INTEGRITY RATHER THAN BE A FOOL WITH WRONG DOING. GETTING WISDOM IS GOOD FOR YOUR SOUL AND KEEPING UNDERSTANDING: GOOD THINGS WILL HAPPEN TO YOU. A SON IS LIKE HIS FATHER AND A WIFE WANTS TO BE TOGETHER WITH HER HUSBAND FOREVER. LISTENING TO THE WORD AND RECEIVE IT BECAUSE IN THE END IT IS THE WISE THING TO DO. RESPECT THE LORD AND YOU WILL HAVE LIFE, WILL BE SATISFIED AND SHOULD NOT DO EVIL. STOP AND LISTEN TO THE WORD AND DO NOT PULL AWAY FROM THE WORDS OF KNOWLEDGE.
