    Hi Larry,

Wonderful and thought provoking question. I will offer my understanding but look forward to someone who may offer a more appropriate response.

Consider DNA. Many today are taking DNA tests to find they contain small percentages of DNA from other cultures or countries. Example: "white" person in USA contains 3% African DNA or 8% Native American. It comes as a surprise to many. What this means is that our grandfather or grandmother 10x over+ may have had a very different color of skin than we have now.

Within the first man or men of creation there must have been many "kinds" of DNA, race etc. Rather, the first man must have contained all of the traits of all of the races. Was Adam light skinned or dark skinned? Was he both? Consider dominant and recessive traits passed through the generations. Most of us are just mutts!

    Food for thought.

Hopefully this helps in some manner and again I'm sure someone with more accurate knowledge can offer a better response than I provided.

Genesis 11:1-10 I believe would answer your question,

And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech."

"Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech. So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city. Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the LORD did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the LORD scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth."

    Hi Larry

To put it the simplest way I can, let's look at it like this. God created MAN. Then he fashioned man by dispersion and there came the races. Hopefully someone can go in more detail.

    God bless.
  • Larry on Proverbs 1 - 1 year ago
If god made one race of man where did all the other races come from?

Those who understand the Kingdom of God are my mother, my brothers, my sisters, my sons, my daughters. We walk in the Spirit of one God (The God of Abraham, God of Isaac and God of Jacob), the Father in Heaven and His only begotten Son Jesus Christ, our only priest and mediator here on earth; for we are waiting patiently to meet Jesus or Yeshua" in the cloud.

You know who you are. Keep the faith and the grace of God. I watch you here on earth.

    I love you all!

:8 what I have found to be of great interest is the phrase "law of thy mother" this is understood in the sayings of the Apostle Paul, who taught us in Galatians 4:21-31 that Hagar is the old covenant, meaning the Ten Commandments written in stone and Sarah is the new covenant, meaning the Ten Commandments written in the heart. Here the Law of God is referred unto as Sarah for Christians, then the apostle states Jerusalem which is above is our mother as Christians, from these two statements we can interpret what King Solomon had hidden in his dark saying. Since our mother is New Jerusalem in the third heaven, the law from our mother is the Ten Commandments written in the heart, after we have figured this out, now we can try to digest the proverb, do not forsake the law of thy mother.

    Psalm 127:1

(A Song of degrees for Solomon.) Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.

  • Sandra Ellick on Proverbs 1:26 - 2 years ago
It is not in the first proverb or first Psalm.

    This I do know.

    The scripture is

"Unless the Lord builds the housevthey labor in vain who build it".

    Where is this ?
  • Sandee on Proverbs 1 - 2 years ago

Verses 20 to the end of the chapter make me think of something Jesus would've said at the gates of Jerusalem.
  • Adam - In Reply on Proverbs 1 - 2 years ago
    Dear Alec,

Maybe you're referring to the last part of the chapter, especially the last verse Proverbs 1:33.

In my opinion this is talking about following God (Jesus) or not. It makes a distinction between someone who hears wisdom and truth and obeys and fears the Lord and someone who doesn't. I think this is what we're seeing in the world today- a lot of fake news and foolishness that people want to believe. They hate the truth. They hate God and mock Him.

As for backsliding, I personally believe we will be judged for all our actions and be punished/rewarded fairly and justly. But I believe Jesus's grace has a huge allowance for genuine followers who try but slip up. I believe all can be forgiven except blasphemy of the holy spirit.

    God bless...
  • Alec on Proverbs 1 - 2 years ago
so does Proverbs 1 24-28 mean that some will wait to long to be able to repent and not be able to find God, including some who may have repented and backslid to long knowing right from wrong and choosing wrong? The way i read this is there will be some who get into trouble and after a life of sin try to find God to get out of trouble but don't really want to repent and so they won't find God. Is this correct?
  • Dennis Cobb on Proverbs 1:6 - 2 years ago
Hi, God bless all people. Dark sayings in 1-4 is an interesting word. The inner meaning of God can only be accessed through reading the bible and thought. Peace be with you.

Jesus doesnt say the words 'the deceitfulness of riches ' lightly .
  • Bonnie on Proverbs 1:19 - 2 years ago
I love discussing the Bible. I see this scripture as saying that greed steals the life away of the one who is greedy. Working to amass wealth requires dedication, sacrifice, and for most compromise of morality and integrity. We lose our life because our focus is not on God. Some deemed as workaholics will spend their who life at the job. They are quick to sell away their life motivated by the greed of gain.

Is it a must for a Christian to speak in tongues??
  • Marsha Dixon on Proverbs 1 - 3 years ago
Proverbs 1:19 reminded me of a parables that JESUS spoke in ST Matthew a Owner had some property went away

and rent them to some farmer the day of harvest is now come he send is servants to ask of them

to send some of the harvest and they beat and kill all who the owner had sent to them so the owner decide to sent is only son, hoping they would show him some respect, but they did not they

kill the owner son. because they wanted to take over the property knowing they're not the owner it's no different from GOD send is prophets to warn is people and they were killed

by the wicked. so now GOD sent is only loving son JESUS to accomplished what was not

and he die but will return as KING and punished all who did not fellow is command

so will the owner of the VINYARD did just that punish and take back what did not belonging to them. These men did not use WISDOM on any level. They allowed the an evil spirit to take them over and will end up losing everything in the natural and spiritual.
  • Paula on Proverbs 1:6 - 3 years ago
Dark sayings - not easily seen; you must seek out the meaning and search the Word to find the answers. Seeking understanding develops into wisdom; changing from seeking to application of principal ethics.
  • Rhonda on Proverbs 1:1 - 3 years ago
Firstly, you cannot isolate a scripture if it is linked to a continuous reading or a message. Verse 29 is a part of the consequences of not taking the way of wisdom, that way of truth judgement and understanding. Verse 25 is the turning point, setting to zero Godly counsel and scoffing at the reproof of the right path. What you sow is what you reap. God loves us, but he is also our judge.
  • Noah Edelson on Proverbs 1:29 - 3 years ago
I think I understand the meaning, but I don't know who is speaking. The guy sounds like a .. well, I'll show some restraint and just say horrid person. It does *not* sound like something Jesus would say, even in his tough love moments. It goes against "love thy enemy" at the very least. It would be super helpful if there was a way to identify who is being quoted on this site.

I want to comment on Proverbs Chapter 1. I just would like to say, I'am a person who believes in the one and only true and Living God, Jesus his mighty son and the powerful Holy Spirit. I've seen them work in my life, so Holily and extravagantly, and they continue to do so. I give them all the glory, praise and the honor!. Godly wisdom is so VERY important to live in, especially in these last days, by the power of the Lord in us, because this world is sick! and is constantly trying to tell the Body of Christ, and the unsaved who believe in God, to live a life(or have lifestyles) VOID of Godly wisdom! AND reverence for him. It's sickening to see, how many of this fallen world, reject, Christian Values, and don't want to follow the Lord's instructions in the Bible, specifically, the Book of Proverbs, to live honorable lives! They want and like to follow the kardashians and the jenner's, but not to reverence the Lord, and obey his instructions, for daily living! It's sad seeing the times we are living in, and how the words of fools of sinning, of the world, in general and especially the entertainment industry (e.g. talk shows & t.v. shows, that make mockery of sin, God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit, & living RIGHT), are considered the "norm" & "cool." But if a UNSAVED wise person, along with the Body of Christ, comes along and tells another unsaved person to follow the BIBLES' Godly wisdoms, and live by them, they're laughed at, talked about and scorned! Unsaved elderly people, that ARE truly honorable, and truly believe in God, and their lives/lifestyles show it!, are always telling young people to live and do right! and not give into the worlds', and it's stupid satanic pop culture peer pressures. Me personally, I'm glad that I can't & don't want ANYTHING to do with ANYONE, who doesn't want to live in Godly wisdom permanently!. Christianity and it's values is the only way to live! The Lord makes it easy to live in his Godly wisdoms for daily living, and I'm glad!

What is the difference between punishment and judgment from the Lord, that helps a person get AND stay on the right road with the Lord, and what is your understanding of the scripture in the Book of Psalm 119:175.

    Thank you
  • Dianne - In Reply on Proverbs 1:26 - 3 years ago
Anthony once a person gets born again what We have been given is perfect in an imperfect body, so the potential to sin is always there. Read Romans 8 about walking by the spirit. The true God does not want us walking around afraid of Him why would He as a Loving Father want to harm His Spiritual Children, thats like saying if you have a child who doesn't listen then one day he changes and desires to obey all the time you still think bad of the child, doesn't make any sense. Hense God is almighty but also a tender loving merciful and forgiving father, also in Romans its the goodness of God that leads us to repentance. Endeavor not to think about the past, and look towards your future with your True Father and His Son. Good Day.
