Proverbs 1:7"The Fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge:"V.24"Because I have called, and ye have refused:I have stretched out my hand, and no one regarded."26,I will also laugh at your calamity;I will laugh when your fear comes(fear of what?that which comes in v.27,destruction,distress,anguish.29;they hated knowledge and did not choose the fear of the LORD. 33;harken unto me=noFEAR of evil.

Irene123's comment on 5/22/2017, 4:59pm...

Anne, that was just beautiful. I so regret I 'backslid' during my children's pre-teen years - for the next 34 yrs. and now they are into drugs, in and out of prison, but for the last almost 3 yrs., since I'm back with the Lord, He hears my prayers. It is SO important to raise them in the Word of God. They are our responsibility, not our hindrance to our own lives.

Irene123's comment on 5/22/2017, 3:28pm...

Pro. 10:10, 14; " if sinners entice thee, consent thou not"; " ... let us all have one purse."

Eph. 4:5; one Lord, one faith, one baptism

Beverley's comment on 5/04/2017, 1:11am...

I thank Almighty GOD for the book of Proverbs because its a book of wise instructions and the world would be in a better condition if every human being under the plan it earth would take heed to the book I want to encourage everyone to take heed to the word of God so that we escape the wrath which us to come JESUS CHRIST gave his life for all humanity and if one goes to hell we have no excuse

Anne's comment on 5/02/2017, 11:45pm...

Parents, please raise your children and don't let the TV, social media, and celebrities do it for you. Don't be afraid to tell them "no" when they ask for something that is not good for them. Chastise them when they are wrong and above all else, let them know that Jesus Christ is The Way, The Truth and The Life. Spend quality time with them and tell them that you love them often. Tomorrow is not promised to anyone, so make the most of the time you have with them.

Steve morrow's comment on 5/02/2017, 10:59pm...

Jean (Trebor) Forbes's comment on 4/07/2017, 11:38pm...

BE OBEDIENT TO THE WORD, PRAY, AND LEAN NOT TO YOUR OWN UNDERSTANDING, FOR THE FLESH IS WEAK AND WE MUST DAILY STRENGTHEN SELF TO DISCERN

Joe Diggs's comment on 4/01/2017, 8:23am...

Proverbs 1 inclines us to seek wisdom at every turn and capitalize off understanding on convenient terms for our own purposes as opposed to aligning our faith with God's promise. The premise is on being consistent out of gratitude. Understanding it's all a blessing as we live and learn.

Marcel's comment on 3/27/2017, 6:35am...

I thinking that God wants us to love and honour him willfully, in spite of fear, we should abide in His word , because it makes our lives a little easier to navigate, and gives us the ability to help others, and mature in the process of Him perfecting us. He loves us in spite of our faults and forgives, and is just and fair what more could we ask for.

Steve's comment on 3/02/2017, 4:54am...

The principle thing is to get the fear of the Lord or wisdom fear is wisdom for without the fear of God no man departs from evil this is the message Solomon is trying to covey to the reader when you have that kind of fear or wisdom it will go well with you

Geraldine Cole's comment on 2/28/2017, 11:22pm...

Praise The Lord Jesus for he is wonderful their is No one like him no place he sees a nd know all it is nothing he cannot do no man man can come to Jesus unless he draws them no man can hear him unless he open up his spiritual hearing no one can.we say we love Jesus how can we say that when we cannot even love the ones the Lord Jesus has put in our life we lie and their is no truth in us

Bobby's comment on 2/16/2017, 6:16am...

Psalm 019;14 applies, Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be example in word and in truth .

Felicia's comment on 2/14/2017, 3:45am...

Proverbs chapter 1 should be read by our children! It gives them great instruction to follow!

Ras Allen's comment on 2/11/2017, 5:26am...

Solomon begins with the importance of applying wisdom and respect for the most high Jah.

Irene123's comment on 2/06/2017, 2:26pm...

V. 4 - I had th'ot for a long time the word 'simple' referred to what we call mentally challenged. It's not that at all, nor was it a person that corrected me, it was the Lord Himself; He does that for us; He is so wonderful, but to get back - simple refers to a mind uncluttered with worldly - junk, and pre-conceived ideas of God and His Word.

Peter's comment on 1/15/2017, 3:11pm...

2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
I got it right this time. This is the verse that I like. It is psalm, I also like psalm 23 a lot; and I thought that there was one proverb that I liked a lot. Oh yes I know what happen, I was right, this is my favourite proverb. but I was looking for the verse above and so I c what happened. FunnyLOLhaHa

Peter's comment on 1/15/2017, 2:52pm...

I don't know how I made the mistake but it the next proverb that i frequently read and love; not that i don't also love or like this one, it is just that I like the other one better maybe I like to think and or i just think that I do think of God's word day and night. I think that i do but I don' dwell on it because I still have to do other things and they are all good or Okay I suppose;

SONIA P's comment on 1/15/2017, 3:07am...

Proverbs 1 teaches us to be obedient to God by reading and meditating on His word in order to gain spiritual knowledge, wisdom, and understanding. When we obey God, it is easy to obey our earthly father. To God be the glory. Amen.

Eliiah's comment on 1/14/2017, 9:31am...

For the vineyard of the LORD of hosts is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah his pleasant plant: and he looked for judgment, but behold, oppression: for righteousness, but behold a cry. Have ye not read what David did, when he was hungry, and they that were with him: How he entered into the house of God, and did eat the show bread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for them which were with him, but only for the priests? Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the sabbath dayS the priests in the temple profane the Sabbath, and are blameless? But they counted our life a pastime, and our time here a market for gain: for, say they, we must be getting every way, though it be by evil means. Hear ye now, O house of David: Is it a small thing for you to weary men, but will ye weary my God also? Son of man, these are the men that devise mischief, and give wicked counsel in this city: Saying, When will the new moon be gone, that we may sell corn? and the Sabbath, that we may set forth wheat, making the supply small, and the demand great, and falsifying the prices and scales by deceit? He is a merchant, the scales of deceit are in his hand: he loves to oppress.

Peter's comment on 1/13/2017, 5:11am...

I love this or these proverbs chapter 1; and I read it often at times sometimes.
