Discussion for Proverbs 4:23

  • Randolph for verse 23
We must keep our hearts with all diligence, we must seek God 's wisdom in everything we do especially when we deal with others. We mustn 't be self centered, yet when others hurt us or reject us, we still must love them and not let our hurt plant a seed of bitterness in our hearts. We must pour our hearts out to God, no matter what the hurt is, no matter how petty or shameful. Lest we harbor bitterness and resentment for life and others and hinder God 's glory in our lives. The bible is clear on how to live life and also what type of people to spend time with. Remember others have a great effect on how feel day to day. We need the spirit of Christ because He knows the ultimate rejection and persecution, yet He never became embittered, And quit His act of supreme love for us. Rather than curse His persecutors, He asked The Father to "forgive them, for they know not what they do. "

  • This scripture is simply reminding us to be watchful of what goes on in our hearts because the heart is the wellspring of your being. You are creating your reality through the thoughts that proceed from your mind which inform your actions. The universe reflects back to you what you put into it. If you give a smile, you get one back. If you give anger and hatred, you also draw that to yourself. However the sowing usually begins in your heart. When your seed matures, it produces after it 's kind. You attract unto yourself according to what you put out. That is why you need to watch your heart diligently. If your life is springing from it, then you want to be conscious of what you are creating for yourself.
