Wesley's Notes for Proverbs 22:2

22:2 Meet - They live together, and need one another. The maker - Not only as they are men, but as they are poor or rich, which difference comes from God's providence. They have one common creator, and Lord, and judge, and the one cannot despise nor grudge at the other without reflecting upon God.

We have to raise are children in the way of the Lord, otherwise
the Hollywood entertainers, mainstream media, etc. will be there
influence. The bottom line is, we need to ask God for wisdom, who
freely gives to those who asks!

To Mimi on v. 24 - This isn't specifically about marriage, but is applicable. It refers to one's friendships, whether man's or woman's. If you 'marry' a man or a man marries a woman, the same principle applies. To marry an 'angry type person, or a drinker of alcohol, or a slovenly person - is to court disaster.

Could someone please explain verse 24 in the context of marriage? I have read the entire chapter of Proverbs 22 and I still don't understand what it is saying to a person who is married to the person in Proverbs 22:24? Thank you for your comments.

We need to be clever in practical affairs or sharp witted in order to avoid calamity as verse 3 shows.
