We need to think about we really don't deserve nothing from God but because he Loves us so much that he gave his all begotten Son all our needs was meet at the cross when he took on my sin he was supplying all my needs then thank you Jesus for your grace.I Believe that all my needs will be meet accord to his riches in glory because he's full of Amazing Grace that I don't deserve. When we receive his love we wont worry about our needs being meet we will know our needs are meet

    12. I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I'd rather abound and never suffer need because: 13. I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. 19. But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
  • I, EVEN I, AM THAT MICHAEL ISAAC DALE:
See here O man? Satan boasts of his own deceit in many flesh by perverting the Scriptures, saying, whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. 12 I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. Scripture, if it be OF GOD, must be given by the Holy Spirit of GOD my Father.

How is verse 4 supposed to be interpreted? I've heard it interpreted before as be happy always and look to the Lord. But no one can be happy all the time. Can they? I am going through a couple of issues in my life currently that makes happiness seem like a luxury.
  • Paul
Sorry to hear you are going through a bad patch, just remember you are the light and Christ is the head of that lightPaul said the peace of the Father surpasses all understanding,so Paul is preaching with no understanding of the Father,be as wise as a serpent,no thy self you are hue-man
  • Adam
One does not need to be happy with a smile on your face 24 7 to rejoice in the Lord. Regardless of mood or circumstance one can be grateful for the Lord's provision and learn to be content in all situations, like Paul who was in prison, shipwrecked, people trying to murder him, etc.

8 years ago my husband had served me with divorce papers I felt my world coming to an end and felt no joy, no peace, and I felt there was no hope in my life. But then while reading the scriptures, through my tears and pain, the Holy Spirit opened my eyes to three verses in Philippians: 6-8. I realized that we receive inner peace from God through Jesus Christ, giving us a reason to rejoice.
  • Adam
    Well said! Amen.

V-8: The things we should strive to accomplish are: True: Honest: Just: Pure: lovely: Good Report: Those of: Virture: Praise: These are the things we are to THINK ON! If we could just focus on these, what a Profitable, Spiritual Life WE would be Living? May God help us to ADHERE TO HIS HOLY SCRIPTURES? We know what God Requires of US: Yet we Refuse to OBEY HIS COMMANDS? When will WE BE OBEDIENT?
  • Lilian
Thanks be to God praise you Lord Jesus thank you Abba Father for your mercy and grace and thanks for the blood that you shed for us amen
  • Vanessa
they just wanted to share the Good news that all sins can be removed with Jesus dying on the cross through repentance, to put the past in the past and live by the word which teaches you how much our Father loves us, and leads you from sinning once you have been cleansed, help a fellow brother as Christ did, of a beggar down the street feed him God loves him too
  • Vanessa
Do you think if we all had everything we wanted, we would praise God for it or would he be left out of the equation? Do you think because we always want we turn to God in prayer seeking , or do you think we should be grateful for all things? Paul spoke of being humble praise God for all things give him the glory from your heart, they all walked with nothing, never wanting, even in prison

Verses 6 and 7: Prayer changes me.

A List of All The Tribulation that came Upon Paul in 2Corinthians 11 Starting at Verse 22. True Believers will have Tribulation. / There are "Many" Pew warmers. In that Day They will Say: Lord Lord look at All The Wonderful Things we done.--- The Lord Will Say: Depart Ye Workers of Iniquity(Matthew 7:22-23). The Last Trumpet Will Soon Sound. Then The Wrath of God is Poured out: (Revelation 16:1)

Paul was in prison. . . Gentile christians stop at this point. We sit in warm houses, soft chairs, complaint over some measure of discomfort. Paul sat in prison. What do we think a Roman prison is? People in great loss, who know God cares 4 them are untouchable. They tell me they have everything they need...and smile in my face. Street ministry is a strange place...

Verse 4~We have many reasons to rejoice in the Lord. Everyday is a new gift of life and we have the promise of a beautiful future in a paradise.

1 Corinthians 7:27-28, "Art thou loosed from a wife? seek not a wife. But and if thou marry, thou hast not sinned."
1 Corinthians 7:15, "But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases." What could be more of a bondage than telling someone they can't get married when they have passions like Elijah and us (James 5:17)? See also 1 Cor. 7:9

Sounds like the economy of God is different than mans. It is about giving, literally redistributing to the work God is doing. God knows best, and his angels celebrate when fruit is evident, in the church and individually. Praise God for all he and Jesus provide, for us to multiply his goodwill. Amen.
  • Lilian
I CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST WHO HAVE STRENGTHEN ME. AMEN HALLELUJAH I BELIEVE YOU LORD JESUS FOR YOU ARE FAITHFUL TO YOUR WORDS I LOVE YOU JESUS FOR YOU ARE MY ROCK AND MY SALVATION MY JEHOVA JIREH THE LORD MY PROVIDER SHALOM
  • STANLEY DIKE
A Christian who understands that Christ lives in him from the very first day he became born again, should not be limited by anything. Because the spiritual controls the physical world and he sits with Christ in the heavenly places far above all principalities, powers, constraints etc and nothing shall by any means be impossible for him that believe this...
  • Stephen B
Jim Nickles, Paul dictated the epistle as given to him by the Holy Spirit. He was in prison suffering from what some believe to have been opthalmalgia. This would have made writing (and most anything) difficult.
  • Jim Nickles
After reading chapter 1 of Philippians the bible questions section to the right asks , Who wrote the book of Philippians? Correct answer Paul and Timothy. At he end of chapt.4 it is inserted by this site that Epaphroditus wrote it.Is this in error or am I mistaken?
  • Paul
Praise our Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.

It is important to fill our minds with these godly qualities mentioned here so that we can be righteous in our standing with God.
  • Rory
It's your street of mind that determines your status and relationship with tha HOLY SPIRIT... Light and darkness can't dwell in the same vessel at the same time. Let us be mindful of this.... If thine eye be dark... How great is that darkness.... All this scripture discribes a state of mind. Therefore, we must continually guard our minds by keeping it flooded with GODS WORD, SONGS OF Praise, etc.

    Which verse of chap 4?

    J. Lazzari; I think your question is, Are the things spoken of in this chapter a summation of the whole message of the Bible? Well, If God hadn't intended us to HAVE all knowledge except one small aspect of our walk in this life; then, perhaps Yes! But for knowing and understanding the LORD, and thereby ourselves as His children; (even in this ruined and humiliated state); we need ALL THE BIBLE!
