God doesn't possess the qualities of man, but favored men to possess His qualities.
  • Peter Esah on Numbers 23:23 - 10 years ago
No evil declaration nor plan concerning the redeemed child of God shall prosper because of the blood of Jesus that has washed away the fertile soil(sin), which can cause these inchantments&divinations to germinate, grow&bear fruit. Praise God !
  • Martin Jones on Numbers 23:19 - 10 years ago
It is clear to me that God is not a creation himself. He does not need to eat or sleep or rest. He is absolute of any eternal need. He is not born as a human.

Surprisingly, I have found the same concept on Quran, chapter 112. Amazing!
  • Timothy on Numbers 23:19 - 10 years ago
This passage of scripture is very encouraging to me. God can and will not lie. Everyone can know that what his word say or prophecy you receive from a real person of GOD will come to pass just as he says. I know for a fact that if your life is dedicated to living and pleasing him he is going to keep and take care of you. Try GOD for yourself you will not be let down.

I stand strong having been washed in the blood of Jesus the CHRIST that speaks better things and in the GRACE that is HIS continued intermission for my sins whilst sitting at the right hand of the Father;making MORE THAN A CONQUEROR. Hallelujah!!
  • Insight 777 on Numbers 23 - 11 years ago
Jesus is the Son of God and not the Son of man. Verse 19 is a scripture among many in the Bible that proves this. The Son of man needs to repent. Jesus is sinless and God is his Father, so Jesus has no need to repent. Matthew 8:20 explains that God made resting places for everything on earth except the Son of man. The Son of man is EVIL. The Son of man has been compared to a thief in scripture. Jesus is not a thief. Matthew 24:37-39 - the coming of the Son of Man will be like the days of Noah. Knowing that Jesus died on the cross because he refused to be called the Son of man and said he was the Son of God, then the reference to Noah must be that the Son of man is like the flood (Satan) that destroys mankind.
  • Muslim on Numbers 23:19 - 11 years ago
    I think it's like that. From Qur'an Surah 112. Al-Ikhlas 1. Says:
    1. He is God, the One!
    2. God, the eternally Besought of all!
    3. He begetteth not nor was begotten.
    4. And there is none comparable unto Him.
  • Jennifer on Numbers 23:19 - 11 years ago
If it says God is not man, because man sins, is that the only attribute that separates man from God, and the only attribute that Jesus had that none of us has? What about self sufficient which is an attribute of God almighty as we all know, then how come Jesus had to eat and drink and answer the call of nature and live as man lives, we don't deny he was superior as he did miracles, but did he in fact himself need protection and to pray to God almighty for himself as well, and how we can say he is God or the begotten son of God when we cannot attribute any of these characteristics of man to God almighty for He is beyond our imagination?
  • LoLo on Numbers 23:19 - 11 years ago
God is not a man, that He would lie. I read and translate that as God is not a liar as man is. Sometime we go to deep. We know that Jesus never lied nor sinned. Also the fact that Jesus' birth was unlike any other makes Him separate from all other humans. So lets not ponder over the small things. God wrapped Himself in flesh to dwell among us, John 1:9. This was His Magnificent decision after the failure of Adam to remain sinless. God can be who He wants when He wants, to fulfill His Plan of Salvation. He never changes but when man does, He accommodates.

    @Sanobia,
Balaam was from Moab, the tribe which was a descending from Lot. Lot was related to Abraham. So Moab and Israel were related .That is why Balaam knew how to approach God by offering seven oxes, seven rams on seven altars. That is why God appeared to Balaam. Moab had a form of worship, without God and Israel had true worship with God. God chose Israel to be His people. Remember God waited for Abraham to separate from Lot for Him to give Abraham a promise. So is it today God has chosen His people out of all denominations to make His Bride. As in Moab/Israel case, Moab was without God and Israel was with God. God is with His Bride. God is not in different denominations, churches, religions, we have today. The Bride of God has His Spirit, which is Christ. Just because they have His Spirit they worship Him in Spirit and in Truth, and God seeks such to worship Him. Finally Sanobia, the Spirit and the Bride saith come even so come Lord Jesus. He who has an ear let him hear, what the Spirit is saying to the Churches. Amen... God bless.
  • Iche on Numbers 23 - 11 years ago
Numbers 23:23, God declared His protection towards his people and his covenant with which He never fails to keep.
  • Susie on Numbers 23:19 - 11 years ago
I think the verse in itself is God saying he is not man because man will lie and he is not a man because he does not sin. In other words he does not identify with being any form of mankind. As far as the question, how can Jesus be God and a man is because Jesus is part of God, just like a mother and father would have a child but he was sent to earth in human form so he could be among us to send God's word.
  • Peter abidemi on Numbers 23:23 - 11 years ago
Since we belong and are of God, bearing the seals of the blood of Jesus Christ we cannot be overly inflicted nor tortured by satanic agent because we are BIGGER than them and we are gods according to God's word.
  • Chris on Numbers 23:19 - 11 years ago
I believe the scripture is fairly clear that Jesus is very much the Son in the Trinity of God -Father, Son & Holy Spirit. His birth from a virgin is what makes him human but he does not have mankind's sinful nature, so he could be our redeemer to bring us into fellowship with our Heavenly Father.
  • Edward francis on Numbers 23:19 - 11 years ago
If God is not a man,how can Jesus be God and man ?
  • Pastor Titus Asuk-enim on Numbers 23:23 - 11 years ago
The defeat of the devil on the cross has rendered what ever 'power' the devel had before now( Colossians 2:15).
Therefore no through child of God, washed by the blood of his cross can be bewitched, charmed or manipulated by any spell, hex or jinx. Hallelujah ! Praise God.
  • Sanobia on Numbers 23 - 12 years ago
who exactly is Balaam and even though he was not a member of Isreal why was he able to speak with the LORD? was the LORD appearing other places, not just revealing himslef to Isreal?
  • Timothy Wayne George on Numbers 23 - 12 years ago
I believe that the most important thing in the command by God to Balaam is to bless Israel, and not to curse whom I have told thee to bless. God has said that those who bless Israel will be blessed, and those who curse Israel will be cursed. We must obey God, rather than man. Today we must continue to bless Israel just as God commanded Balaam to bless Israel.
  • Tosin on Numbers 23 - 12 years ago
You are very correct Samuel and it is a shame when some men of God turn themselves into prayer contractors in order to curse children of God for what could be addressed amicably. Some men of God have questions to answer to God for cursing children of God on the basis of financial gain or position attainment.
  • Emy Calub on Numbers 23 - 12 years ago
There were other prophets during the time of Moses who had direct communication with God but there was only ONE sent to LEAD Israel. It was Moses and Moses' Word was perfect. The error of Balaam is that he desired the bribe (Self-glorification) of Balak.
  • Jim on Numbers 23 - 12 years ago
Can't see where Balaam blessed Israel!
  • Chukwuemeka Ijioma on Numbers 23 - 13 years ago
Chapter 23 shows that whoever or whatever God Blesses cannot be cursed; not even by a man of God, so to say. Secondly, for a prophet's prophecy to have the desired effect(s), it must be ratified by the Almighty, himself. Finally, if God is with you, no one can be against you.
  • SAMUEL on Numbers 23 - 13 years ago
This chapter shows that the plan of GOD ALMIGHTY cannot be alterd by man;the covernant of God is excellent. No amount of curses upon the elect of God can have any desired effect;no matter who curses. The deceiver the devil attempts to derail the plan of GOD for His elects by using those who actully serve GOD to curse the people of GOD for personal gains.
