out the mote out of thy brothers eye. End of verse 5 ran out of room Jesus is clearly saying dont even be a hypocrite by pointing out someones sin when your commiting the very same one often, but rather with Jesus help when you have over come a sin then you can see clearly to help others overcome that certain sin with The Lord Jesus Christ helping you help them.
  • Servant of the most high God on Matthew 7 - 5 years ago
Ok first of all The Lord Jesus Christ is the Judge He said judge not and if you havent overcame the sin your pointing out to someone else with Jesus help the beam in your eye you should not point out the mote in there eye the sin you see in there life . Otherwise as Jesus said thou hypocrite, verse 5 first cast out the beam out of thine own eye and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out

Lack of church discipline is a byproduct of false teaching in my humble experience. My estranged husband was sucked in deeply to false teaching and try as I did, he rejected my efforts to help him discern and to snatch him out. I wouldn't follow as he tried to lead me astray.I stood my ground whilst all manner of strange things were being taught and were going on at the new church he took me to and gosh I didn't go down well. Eventually he had an affair with a female member at the church and others there were actually trying to justify it calling me "difficult". In my bible it says "contend for the Truth"..I pray for him regularly and know that nothing is impossible with God but he's unteachable and won't behave..so I continue my walk alone. The ramifications of false teaching are alarming to say the least.Put on the full armour. The enemy has no new tricks and God has provided the instructions for what is needed to equip us in the battle. Test everything.Stand firm. Our Commander has already won the war. How reassuring is that. God bless.

Just spent a very worthwhile hour listening to the sermon "True marks of the Spirit"..by Dr.Martyn Lloyd Jones..spiritual guidance from a true man of God.

one path is wide most will follow that, then choose the narrow path which is less traveled, many will knock few will enter the kingdom. I see preachers today saying sinning is ok as long as you have received Christ's as your saviour, and then you read this, it's hard today to live free from corruptions, seek daily for wisdom in the word and hand things over to the Lord, trust in God, Amen
  • Jimmy. on Matthew 7 - 5 years ago
As I under this scripture. These people that are being referred to are people who think because of there WORKS, they can or have the right to inter the kingdom of God. We are saved by Grace. Not WORKS. What you do dose not get you in the kingdom of God.Judaism for example. WORKS dont save You
    Read Ephesians,2: 8.
  • Obbie Beal on Matthew 7 - 5 years ago
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity....
Wow! Wow! Wow! it appears many with 'knowledge of the word of GOD' (especially heaven) will not allowed to enter heaven.
  • Bruce on Matthew 7 - 5 years ago
We are to Judge: V 15 -16 Beware of false prophets---Ye shall know them by their Fruit. Without Salvation by The Blood of The Lamb and being in The Word Daily. The churches would run amok. It would be anything goes, saying evil is good and good is evil. A lot of churches are falling by the way side. Be not part of them: Ephesians5:7. We're to be Careful how We Judge.
  • Anthclafton on Matthew 7 - 5 years ago
Isn't christ saying to judge with equal measure? Using the same standards of course his standards. Written long ago from his laws in the first books then the other prophets? Seems Christ is pleading for our study and meditation. Ask it shall be given and also seek.
  • Sabrine on Matthew 7 - 5 years ago
It is as it says do not judge any one thou you will be judged too but not forgetting that the word of God says that
Ask, and it shall be given to you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you so if we don't mix thing we shall be repaid by the almighty God
    May God bless u

Matt. 7:23 I never knew you!! The 4 saddest words ever spoken!! Many people say they know Jesus. They go to Church and sing about about him, never read their bibles, say a little prayer once and. Awhile, never change their lifestyle, and think they're going to Heaven. It's not that I know Jesus, but does HE KNOW ME? It's not a RELIGION,it's a RELATIONSHIP!!! JESUS SAVES!!!!
  • Marcus Smith on Matthew 7 - 6 years ago

Judge not, that ye be not judged.
    2
For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

"Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you." This verse has long been a favorite 'go to' saying about not speaking to those who show themselves unworthy and incapable of receiving the Word, because of their brutish and or Satanic nature. This goes with how the Lord warned in another place, to "Beware of men, for they will deliver you up.." But Read the whole portion in its context, and you'll see that the warning is used, not BECAUSE they are unfit to hear, so much as it is for us not to cause ourselves unnecessary hurt and danger BY HYPOCRISY. The precious and holy things we bear in our preaching and teaching, are known and read of all men alongside our character and behavior. Although in a very grave sense they "know not what they do " God has nevertheless given it to them to see the "City Lights which He has set on a hill " and demands that our witness be true and faithful, agreeing with the Spirit's convictions He has ordained and uses through us and our words.

Ruth (cont.); Just wanted to say, that I agree with you! I don't mean to 'nit pick' (and I wasn't 'finding fault' with what you wrote at all!); but I wanted to emphasize that the idea of one having to belong to a Church and subject himself without thinking, Is this right? is misleading, and a potentially terrible dangerous snare. Birds of a feather flock together. People flock to those they like!
  • A disciple on Matthew 7 - 6 years ago
Nia; AMEN! Luke 6:26 "Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets." Mark 13:22 "For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect." They of the Truth hear Jesus' voice and follow HIM! A stranger they will not follow, but WILL FLEE from strangers! God proves us.
  • Nia Ettienne on Matthew 7 - 6 years ago
Everywhere we turn we see fake pastors for anyone who preaches the word and is only concern about televising themselves and having a filled up church, is not of Christ.
True Christians have to be wise and stick to the word. Don't be fooled by all these worldly preachers who serve the world and not God.
  • LadyA on Matthew 7 - 6 years ago
THE WORD OF GOD IS TRUTH FROM EVERLASTING TO EVERLASTING!
  • A disciple on Matthew 7 - 6 years ago
Dear Ruth; What Churches are you referring to? And what TV Preachers? We are in the time when "hearing the Words of God" has been taken away from us; and the innumerable Churches and popular TV preachers and teachers, are departed from the Spirit of the Lord, and have gone after other Jesus' and other gospels, after their own lusts. They do not turn people away from their sins, nor teach the Word!
  • BSP on Matthew 7 - 6 years ago
There are many people who claim to look out for a person's best interest, but time will tell by their actions whether they are truly genuine or not.
  • Ruth on Matthew 7 - 6 years ago
We can go to church and hear,we can watch preachers on tv,etc but if we are not doers of the Word,we are not being wise.
Be ye doers of the Word and not hearers only.
  • Rev Mike on Matthew 7 - 6 years ago
So many false prophets right now,Fill their pockets with money, build mansions!Should be taking care of the poor, orphaned, widowed, and so on.Do not go by Jesus's teachings!
  • A disciple on Matthew 7 - 6 years ago
"Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets." THE GOLDEN RULE Not only for our behavior toward each other; (which truly would make a very wonderful world); but it has to do directly with the kind of divine character we ask from God for ourselves, and the way of life reflecting that grace without hypocrisy.
  • A disciple on Matthew 7 - 6 years ago
"Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine," We've most often heard this phrase used about speaking to those whom we would judge unfit for our holy words and wisdom from God. But in the context of how the Lord said it; its about our hypocrisy causing scandal to the holy name of Jesus, and the precious treasure of His Gospel that we've been entrusted with.
  • Brianna vs. 6-8 on Matthew 7 - 6 years ago
Even while Jesus Christ was on this very earth, religious leaders were corrupting the word of God and sticking to traditions rather than the scriptures. To this very day it has only gotten worse. Friends, we must study the scriptures. We can not rely solely on those claiming to be men of God. If we study our Bibles we can know the truth, and be truly content while we await salvation.
  • BSP on Matthew 7 - 6 years ago
Verse 4 shows the importance of self-examination. We can become so focused on the flaws of others that we miss major faults of our own.
