Think upon God in all you do and say, show Mercy & Compassion as you are before God in what you do & say. For many of even those who say 'Lord, Lord' may not enter into the Kingdom of God. Let us therefore proceed not in fear, but boldly in the knowledge of Jesus Christ's free gift to us & God's compassion on us to obtain this gift.
  • NAMES OF JESUS - In Reply on Matthew 7 - 3 years ago
Lisa, there is one scripture in the Bible that shows us one of Jesus's Names, capitalized as:

    Revelation Chapter 19

11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him [was] called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.

12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.

13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.

Jesus Christ is: THE WORD OF GOD

One scripture in the back of the Bible, but it is undeniably True.

Anyone reading the Book of Revelation is given a blessing by the Lord. Every time we read it. Revelation chapter 1

    The Blessing: Revelation 1:3

    Compare verse Revelation 1:14 to

Revelation 19:12 Both are Jesus !

I agree with you 100 percent. The living word is God. I don't believe the bible in itself is the word of God, but the word is in the bible (book). Everyone now calls the bible the word of God especially in the religious institutions.

Here is the remedy for not falling away of which we are in .

Because sin abounds , it will get more difficult and many will fall away , just prior to the appearance of the man of sin Antichrist. False religions will only compound the problem , because It's dishonorable to God , you must leave sinful religion of any kind . Of suffer with it .

Be a doer of the word not a hearer only .
  • Creamation and bodies destroyed by accident on Matthew 7 - 3 years ago
What happens To Our Bodies -

    Revelation 20:13

And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

If God knows where every body is, in the sea,

I'm sure He knows where people's cremated remains are. ( which contain some bone)

  • Hearing the Word of God - In Reply on Matthew 7 - 3 years ago
For myself, I believe that everything Jesus, the Word spoke, (the red scriptures) are directives. Not suggestions.

He was preaching, teaching and demonstrating the Kingdom. We should use the Light that is given to us. His words are meant to change us, from the inside to the outside.

We cannot mix what Jesus says, with what others say that is contrary to Jesus's spoken Word.

You'll want to google what it means to get a Rhema word from the Lord. He's still speaking into the life of the Church; by the Power of the Holy Spirit only. That's why it is important to ask the Holy Spirit for the Gift of discerning the Spirits. 1 Corinthians 12-14. Is it Jesus or a human spirit.

It's important to walk closely with the Holy Spirit now. He is God the Holy Spirit and He is your Helper, Teacher, Comforter, Convicts is of sin, righteousness and the world to come. Lean on Him heavily; He can take it.

Shannon, I'm unsure what you mean by the specific 'verses' for Christ's followers, as all of Scripture is given for our knowledge, instruction & necessary obedience. But if you're thinking of Jesus' special utterances, then when you come across portions, such as in Matthew 5:1,2 "And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him. And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying", then we can understand that Jesus left the public throng ( Matthew 4:25), went to a quieter location with His disciples & gave them some important teaching & lessons they needed to learn as opposed to the discourses to the public or to the Jewish religious leaders.

So your reference to Matthew 7, Jesus actually starts His teaching to His disciples in Matthew 5 & ends it in chapter 7.

The subject is the Name. All of a sudden they become aware how important the Name of Jesus anointed really is in all works or deeds! Get it? These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. John 3:18 .... he hath not believed in the Name!

Matthew 7:6 is the sixth verse of the seventh chapter of the Gospel of Matthew in the New Testament and is part of the Sermon on the Mount. This verse contains an ambiguous warning about placing "pearls before swine."

One modern argument is that dogs and pigs represent Gentiles and heathens, and that this verse is demonstrating that Jesus' original message was intended only for the Jews. Harrington notes that such warnings are found in rabbinic works of the period. In Jewish literature heathens were often compared to dogs, and the unclean pig was a Jewish symbol for the Roman Empire. In 2 Peter 2:22, dogs and swine quite clearly refers to heretics. According to Schweizer this verse was used by Jewish Christians to attack the Gentile churches, to argue that Gentile Christians would turn on the Jews by rejecting their laws and destroying Israel. The dominant reading is that the two expressions are both referring to the same thing and the same group of people. To Nolland this verse is not an attack on any particular group, but rather a continuation of the theme of God and Mammon begun at Matthew 6:24 and that verse is an attack on wasteful spending. We should put all of our resources to God, as everything is like dogs and pigs compared to Him.Nolland also proposes that the verse might be to balance the other verses, that non-judgmentalism can only go so far and that there are some who should be excluded.

Louie, No, the sins of your grandparents nor of your parents or anyone else, can ever be held against you. We are all accountable to God for the sins we commit.

"The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him. But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die." Ezekiel 18:20,21.

And even though "the wages of sin is death" ( Rom 6:23), "the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."

We are all guilty before God for our own sins & it's only by our faith in His Son, Jesus Christ, that we can be saved from its awful penalty. However, the genes that are passed on to us from our parents, etc. can include characteristics that are not always wholesome. Other times, it's not just the genes, but also what children see & learn from their parents that cause them to err later in life. What a great responsibility parents have: they can't remove the genes they pass on, but they can demonstrate good living & teach their children to do so, especially according to the Bible. Yet, we still have to deal with our weaknesses & failings in these areas, in the Power that Christ has given us.

Yes study prophecy - Exodus 19:5 - Now therefore, IF IF IF ye (Jews) will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine:

Jeremiah 11:10 - They are turned back to the iniquities of their forefathers, which refused to hear my words; and they went after other gods to serve them: the house of Israel and the house of Judah have broken my covenant which I made with their fathers.

Leviticus 18:5 - Ye shall therefore keep my statutes, and my judgments: which IF IF IF a man do, he shall live in them: I am the LORD. Thing is the Jews did not keep the covenant and did you know God DIVORCED ISRAEL....

    Hmmm. most do not know.

Jeremiah 3:8 - And I saw, when for all the causes whereby backsliding Israel committed adultery I had put her away, and given her a bill of DIVORCE divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah feared not, but went and played the harlot also.

Jeremiah 5:11 - For the house of Israel and the house of Judah have dealt very treacherously against me, saith the LORD.

Question: Who does the Bible alone say KILLED JESUS

A: 1 Thessalonians 2:14 -15 ...even as they have of the Jews: Who both killed the Lord Jesus, and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and they please not God, ....

Q: Is there another plan of salvation for unbelieving Jews?

A: Acts 4:12 - Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Q: Did Jesus take the Kingdom of God from the Jews?

A: Matthew 21:43 - Therefore say I (Jesus speaking to the Jews) unto you,

The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.

Matthew 23:15 - Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees (ALL Pharisees are Jews) , hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.

    Harsh words from Jesus
  • PROPHESY on Matthew 7:1 - 3 years ago
Figure out when the fullness of the Gentiles has or will be completed. That's what we're waiting on.

The fig tree is Israel. When is summer? When is the harvest?

Certain conditions are already in play. The return of The Dispersed Jews is happening, every day. Anti-semitism is driving them to "go home to the land of their fathers."

Briefly, the Palestinians fled from their countries to live wherever they could be allowed in. Now the world watches to see if Israel will be "forced" to accept the 2 State deal on the table. Will they give up all they won in 1967 for Peace?

Keep your eyes on what Russia and China does to push this thing along. Prophesy tells that Russia will be utterly wiped off the map for its interference. By God.

A working knowledge of Bible prophesy would be advisable for now. Some modern Prophets are False Prophets. Which ones? See: you need to be careful lest you be mis-informed by a false prophet.

What does the Bible teach on these things?

I read a prophesy in many years past, that the United States would so something so heinous that the entire world would come against it. What would that be?

We cannot stop what is playing out. I advise being very prayerful over who you elect this fall. Vote your disgust and anger; or vote with God. What is that? I've seen some things but I will not say. Only this: that in Palestinian culture/blood heritage; the children born are the religion of their blood fathers. Israeli children are the religion of their mothers bloodline.

    Study prophesy.

Do you really believe that God would allow His words (the bible) to be changed? Not possible. My bible is the same today as it was 60 years ago when it was given to me.
  • Adam - In Reply on Matthew 7:1 - 3 years ago
I'm not sure if someone is claiming the KJV has changed or not, but if that's the claim that can be easily resolved by looking any verse up in the 1611 A.D. version which is on this website. People have made this claim a lot and instead of taking a few seconds to verify if their verse has actually changed, some insist that the KJV is somehow wrong and that their memory is never wrong. Personally I trust God's word more than man's word. People should also keep in mind that the English language has changed a lot in 400 years, so in case it's a word being spelled slightly differently, it doesn't mean a translation is corrupted if it updates to the proper spoken language.

I do understand how people can get things messed up sometimes. But I'm not saying Satan is doing any of this, in fact only God would have that sort of power in my opinion. I can't tell you exactly how, but I know what my Bible used to say and what it now says, and it no longer matches. I was born in 1974, I'm not aware of any of those things you referred to in regards to why I have it mixed up, but I'm going off of what I read in my actual Bible.

Mark 13:10 is a great example, don't you remember "and the gospel must first be preached among all nations"? It now says Published instead of preached. I believe it's the time of great revelation. 2020 vision. Truth is being revealed. Think of the division Paul brought to the churches. The confusion and all the various denominations (Over 38,000).

Well now Paul tells us in 2 Cor. 11:8 how he robbed churches. That was not always in my Bible that way.

Mammas and the pappas, California dreaming song used to say got down on my knees and began to pray, now it says pretend to pray. I don't know why we have alternate realities but I read the Bible dozens of times, I just know it's changed for me. There's no doubt about it and it's in a supernatural way. The big one for me is the Thinker statue with it's fist to it's forehead. I had the statue growing up, yet he never had his fist to his forehead, it's supposedly always been to his mouth and chin. There's never been Stouffer's Stove Top Stuffing, it's always been Kraft Stove Top.

None of this ringing a bell for anyone?
  • Bob Hilt - In Reply on Matthew 7:1 - 3 years ago
If satan has the power to go back in time and change the bible (Mandela effect) then he is more powerful than the Lord.

at least those who push this ridiculous theory want us to believe.

God promised to PRESERVE his words and if things were changed, then He failed.

Example: Isaiah 11:6 The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.

The "lion shall lay down with the lamb" is a lyric made popular by the 1937 song, "Peace in the Valley" written by Thomas A. Dorsey

Lion with lamb was a song

It was first made popular by Red Foley and the Sunshine Boys in 1951 after being recorded by Sam Cooke of the Soul Stirrers in 1950 and rising to limited success. But it wasn't until Elvis Presley recorded the song on his first Christmas Album with the Jordanaires that "Peace in the Valley" received worldwide fame.

On January 6, 1957, Elvis sang "Peace in the Valley" on the Ed Sullivan Show,

After the popularity of Elvis' rendition of the song, many ministers around the nation began integrating the lyrics into their sermons. that is what many remember.

    Chris,

I do agree that there are other English translations that are easier to read than the KJV. Maybe that's why I was given a Living Bible as my first Bible. It's not one I would recommend to anyone. I definitely wouldn't give it to one of my kids or grandkids. I don't think my mother knew much about the LB before she gave it to me. It's not even a translation, but a paraphrase. That's what concerns me about paraphrase bibles. The author can write anything he or she wants and then publish it. I only used two verses as an example. There are many others that I feel completely change the true meaning of the text. That's what matters the most to me. I am not a "King James Only" person, even though that is the translation I study from. There are other good English translations that are easier to read than the KJV. I can't argue that. But for myself, I stay away from the LB. I hope I have not offended anyone here that does use that version. We are all free to choose whatever Bible we want. We just have to ask ourselves what is most important to us when choosing a translation, accuracy or easy to read.
