He died on Friday, and rose on a Sunday. Friday and Sunday was not 24 hours, Saturday was. But 3 different days. He rose from the dead the third day after He died on the cross.
  • BATYAH on Matthew 27:63 - 3 years ago
Yes, it is wrong to use the name jc. 2 Chronicles 7:14. If my people who are called by my name.........

His name is YAH. YAH is the name of the true and living ELOHIM (God). He alone is the Creator of all.

When we send the highest praise to our Father (Abba), we say "HalleluYAH." Hallelu = Praise to. His name =YAH

John 5:43. I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, you will receive him. J.C. is the other name that the world received Which is not the name of the Son of YAH. The

Son's name is YAHUSHA HA'MASHIACH. Do you see the YAH in His name. As He stated "I come in my Father's name." YAH!

YAH'S name was taken out of the Bible because the wicked powers of this world do not want you to call Him or His Son by Their names. This is because there is truly power in Their names. Stop using the name J.C. If you look up the Latin definition for Jesus, it means " Earth Pig" Now think about this, would YAH give His son such a name with that definition?

As the Bible saids in Revelation 22:18-19, we are not to add or take away from this book...... , The wicked powers spoken about in Ephesians 12:6 has taken out the true names. We have to start doing what scripture saids and call them by Their true names.

Anywhere in the Bible that you read "the Lord," you should read "the Lord YAH." Therefore you identify Him by His name. Wherever you see "God," you should read as ELOHIM which in Hebrew language means God. The reason being is because there are so many false gods out there. Satan is also known as a god because some people worship him. As for the title Lord, that is what Sarah called Abraham, her lord. In ancient kingdoms there were people known as lord this and lord that. Lord is simply a title as to is God a title.

Our Father YAH is Holy. He is in a category all by Himself. Only He knows the day His Son is coming back, not even is Son knows. Matthew 24:36 and Mark13:32. HalleuYAH!

Genesis 9:4 Only, you shall not eat flesh with its life, that is, its blood.

Exodus 24:8 Moses took the blood and dashed it on the people, and said, 'See the blood of the covenant that the Lord has made with you in accordance with all these words.'

Leviticus 3:17 It shall be a perpetual statute throughout your generations, in all your settlements: you must not eat any fat or any blood.

Leviticus 7:26 - 27 You must not eat any blood whatever, either of bird or of animal, in any of your settlements. Any one of you who eats any blood shall be cut off from your kin.

Leviticus 17:10 - 12 [ Eating Blood Prohibited ] If anyone of the house of Israel or of the aliens who reside among them eats any blood, I will set my face against that person who eats blood, and will cut that person off from the people. For the life of the flesh is in the blood; and I have given it to you for making atonement for your lives on the altar; for, as life, it is the blood that makes atonement. Therefore I have said to the people of Israel: No person among you shall eat blood, nor shall any alien who resides among you eat blood.

Leviticus 17:14 For the life of every creature-its blood is its life; therefore I have said to the people of Israel: You shall not eat the blood of any creature, for the life of every creature is its blood; whoever eats it shall be cut off.

Matthew 26:28 for this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.

Mark 14:24 He said to them, 'This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many.

Luke 22:20 And he did the same with the cup after supper, saying, 'This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood.

John 6:54 - 56 Those who eat my flesh and drink my blood have eternal life, and I will raise them up on the last day; for my flesh is true food and my blood is true drink. Those who eat my flesh and drink my blood abide in me, and I in them.

Jesus rose on the third day. He died on a Friday. ( what we call good Friday .) He rose on a Sunday on the third day. Now Friday and Sunday were not full days but Saturday was. Still 3 days. Not 24 hour days except for Saturday. This is why most christians worship on a Sunday.
  • Apocrypha Reading on Matthew 27:63 - 3 years ago
No offense intended. This the King James Bible Online Room.

Most of us read the Old and New Testament that was canonized.

Not the Apocrypha; which WAS NOT canonized.

I use a Bible Dictionary, a Concordance and. KJV Commentary for study. I don't study Apocrypha. It's a different set of Books and, the Holy Spirit has never told me to read them.

Guess I live a simple life: do, do not, when I get time :D

Yes, 1 did believe & Jesus did say, today you will be in paradise (maybe not an exact quote, but near). Please read Luke chapter 23 vs 33 - 43 for more understanding.

    Dennis,

Matthew was written by Matthew. Matthew was his Greek name. Matthew means gift of Yahweh. His Jewish name is Levi. And because his name is Levi, that tells us that he is from the tribe of Levi, and he is a priest of all people. Priests come from the tribe of Levi.

In Acts Chapter 12 Verse 12, we are introduced to Mark. He's in Jerusalem. In fact, Acts 12:12 tells us that his name is John Mark. Many people in the scriptures that are presented in detail, they have two names. One is a Jewish name, and one is a sir name, or a Roman name. John is his Jewish name. It is Yochanan. And Marcus is his Roman name. His name is John Mark.

Luke wrote both the gospel of Luke and the book of Acts. He is only mentioned three times in the New Testament. Luke is a Greek name, not Jewish. Many believe that he was a Gentile. I also believe that to be true. Luke was the only Gentile to be used to write a book of the Bible. The best evidence of him being a Gentile is in Colossians Chapter 4 Verses 11 through 14.

John was written by the apostle John. He is a different John than John the Baptist who is introduced to us in John Chapter 1 Verse 6. This is the apostle John. John the Baptist, and the apostle John are two different people. John also wrote 1 John, 2 John, 3 John, and the book of Revelation.

  • Mishael - In Reply on Matthew 27 - 3 years ago

No. You have to be born again before death or before the (rapture of the church).

Go to the website open page and scroll down to the 'become a believer'. Link. You can read what is required.

Don't procrastinate too long. Time is ticking faster these days.

Jesus because of what you went through for me and have done for me - I can fly through the air, I can walk on water, I can run faster than the wind, I can jump higher than Mount Everest. Oh my wonderful Jesus you have made me to walk upon the high places of the earth and I am feeding on the heritage of my father Jacob. There are no words to describe your greatness. I bless you LORD.

The veil was symbolic of the old covenant a levitical Priesthood. The new covenant REPLACES the old covenant. A Melchezedec Priesthood is now in effect via blood of Christ. No more temples made with hands NOW our high priest has to be born in us via the SEED of the sower, living WORDS of God,Abide in me and i in you.He always refers to himself as the SON OF MAN, MANKINDS FRUIT UNTO GOD TH MANCHILD

    Matthew 27:50-54:
A divine rearrangement took place after Jesus' last cry: Temple Veil open for new era, the earth responded to the call of Jehovah, the rocks splits and the grave opened up for believers forever and the centurion affirmed the ultimate genuineness of the Son of God who died on the cross.
Now there is an open door for for those who will believe.

Verse 17~Pilate tried to release Jesus by contrasting him with a known criminal. The people showed how hard hearted they were in asking for Barabbas to be released instead of Jesus Christ.
  • Eutychus on Matthew 27 - 6 years ago
"Then answered all the people, and said, His blood be on us, and on our children." verse 25. The people pronounced a breath-taking curse upon themselves.

And were reminded of it later, very strongly...

"Saying, Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man's blood upon us." Acts 5:28.
  • A disciple on Matthew 27 - 6 years ago
To this day the disobedient Jews continue in their obstinate refusal of any and all reference in Scriptures to the Anointed; and vainly hope in another kind to arise after their own imaginations. They say that Moshiach can be anybody; and they even go so far as to start appointing one by themselves, from among their own. Interestingly, EVERYONE ELSE knew that Jesus was Moshiach, but they refused!
  • A disciple on Matthew 27 - 6 years ago
"And Jesus stood before the governor: and the governor asked him, saying, Art thou the King of the Jews?...For he knew that for envy they had delivered him." Keywords which help us see this picture as it really was; that we have no need of putting flowerful unrealistic notions to the actual people and events, but that we may know the truth as God sees it; that EVERYONE knew but the blind haters!
  • A disciple on Matthew 27 - 6 years ago
"And when he was accused of the chief priests and elders, he answered nothing." Who among us would be able to exercise such self control and hold our peace in such an situation of outrageous cruelty and injustice? In the furnace of affliction would be an understatement! Yet the Lord endured all the insult and humiliation and utter contempt being COMPLETELY INNOCENT, and bore it quietly in faith!
  • Saint on Matthew 27 - 6 years ago
In matt 27:52, these are those that died in faith - Abraham, Isaac Jacob, etc. The holy city is the early church - not natural Jerusalem which was not holy since they had just crucified Jesus... read Hebrews 11 about the faith these spiritual warriors had... but without receiving the holy ghost, they could not be made perfect...

As we approach the solar eclipse I thought of vs 45 when darkness fell from 6th hour to 9th hour. My thoughts will be on this as the eclipse takes place. One of the best sermons I have heard lately was about the fact that the worst that happened to Jesus that day wasn t most likely not the physical toll he took but the period of time that his father had to turn his back on his son.

Matthew 27 is;( Christ was tried, crucified, buried, V.66 they sealed the entrance of his tomb.)v.52."And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept, arose, v.53"and came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the city and appeared to many."There were saints/dead before the birth of Christ. It does not say 52-53 is a glimpse into the future.Read V.54

Hi Jacqueline; I think that this was a special sign done for showing the people of Jerusalem what they were not willing to believe in; and of that which will happen in Israel and all over the world when Jesus is revealed at His coming in glory and power. The Saints who sleep shall be the first to arise, and then we who still live and remain till His coming; "and we shall be changed, IN A MOMENT."
  • Jacqueline mitchell on Matthew 27 - 6 years ago
please explain matt 27:52 is this the special resurrection and where could i find other verses related to this? thank you so much.
  • Lu2677 on Matthew 27 - 6 years ago
Felicia,I saw your verse you call "fundamental doctrine"I believe all of God's word is fundamental, all 66 books. All essential to salvation. I am not a Fundamentalist. Man cannot pick and chose which scripture is essential doctrine, but they do. All of God's word is sound doctrine.
  • Felicia on Matthew 27 - 7 years ago
A Disciple - Many of us are like Judas we feel remorse for the evil we have done to others but not repentant towards God. It's the disposition of heart. We will do well to learn from David in Ps 51:4 "Against thee, thee only, have I sinned and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest .." Judas preferred to die for himself he didn't want Jesus to die for Him.
