  • Toni on Matthew 18:3 - 10 years ago
In order to be converted we must first repent Repentance means throwing ourselves on the mercy seat of God and confessing our sins before Jesus and asking Him to forgive us of all our sins Then can we be converted this is not of our own doing We can not change or turn back to God on our own God s Word through Jesus must prick our hearts and convict us in such a way that we no longer want to wallow and live in sin The only way we can become holy and godly is by God shedding the Holy Ghost on us He then teaches us admonishes us and comforts our hearts and spread God s love in our hearts And that s when we can become lowly and meek as good little children Repentance leads to conversion which leads to humbling ourselves as little children so we can enter the Kingdom of Heaven

Matthew 18:8 Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast them from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire.

this is a hard saying only because for much evil is required much doing! understand in this saying : Even Lucifer can understand should he wish to blame his wickedness on his only remaining eye even he can find hope to repent his sins. or should Lucifer wish to blame his only remaining functioning hand for the evil he commits cut it off and find hope for eternal life by first repenting, and likewise should he blame it on his evil walk as he stands up to commit evil he can cut it off and find hope so he may repent unto eternal life. Understand this the lord Jesus died for the sins of the whole world, it is for each and every one of us to accept or reject is gift of love. In the end the Question will be answered can a Leopard change its spots.
  • Jeff on Matthew 18:20 - 10 years ago
MT 18:20 is simple. Law of duality. Where two or THREE are gathered...it has nothing to do with going to a literal "church". Christ is the church. It takes two to witness. If you are worshipping with two or more and are in agreement then Christ is there with you. It means what it says. "WHERE" is not a specific place. TWO OR THREE shows law of duality that two or more are in agreement worshipping. THERE I AM Jesus's presence, IN THEIR MIDST, among them.
  • Doris on Matthew 18:20 - 10 years ago
I love this scripture is so clear, is nt tlkng about our churches, bt by being in Christ. And to gather in His Name. Means we must have a relationship wth the Lord Jesus Christ, so that we can call on His Name.
  • Emmanuel Ndanduleni on Matthew 18:19 - 10 years ago
If one can be divided into many, nothing good shall come up. Bui if many combine or unite in one, then everything is possible. Together we stand, but apart we fall. One is the heavenly and godly number. No one can beat the power of one!

I believe that as regards anything spiritual or natural, w/i the realm of free & sovereign grace, we will be heard of the Father through the intercessory prayers of the Lord Jesus.

  • Peter on Matthew 18:18 - 10 years ago
God knows all of our thoughts. So he knows all of our choices before we even make them. As Jesus did knowing his fathers thoughts. That his choice was his father's choice. As my choice is love, because; "GOD" is LOVE.
  • A. W. Dickens on Matthew 18:20 - 10 years ago
God will be with you regardless your religion (church), providing the gathering is in his name, for him, and by him.
  • Danalee on Matthew 18:20 - 10 years ago
This verse is dealing with conflict in the church.
God is in the midst of one or a thousand person if you asked him to. Read the entire chapter and the context. Peter understood God, and in verse 21, He asked"Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him." Jesus response was, seventy times seven.

this is a reference of the topic a man and God is majority. not all majority is right, even one or two as long as God is in the midst of them are majority. ministry is not in numbers but in relationship with God.
  • DAVI NTALE on Matthew 18:19 - 10 years ago
This mean We should gather in one spirit not debates & worship the same GOD
  • BSP on Matthew 18:20 - 10 years ago
This verse shows the importance of being with fellow believers in our worship of God. We can not isolate ourselves and go against the Bible's admonition for us to meet together. This would not result in God's blessing.

  • Ted Bezan on Matthew 18:20 - 10 years ago
Where two or three are gathered IN MY NAME I am there with them. It being so,doesn't say much for noisy churches. Those who BELIEVE His words ought to show some reverance due Him and remain quiet. Remain in the foyer if you must talk and let your children run around.
  • Pastor Thoms Ngubeni on Matthew 18:18 - 10 years ago
THIS VERSE SHOWS US AS BELIEVERS THE POWER OF CHRIST. THROUGH THE CROSS WE HAVE BEEN GIVE THE AUTHORITY TO EXCERSISE THIS POWER. WE ARE SUPPOSE TO PROHIBIT THE ACTS OF THE ENEMY(SATAN) BY BELIVING THE MESSAGE OF THE GOSPEL OF CHRIST.LOOKING AT VERSE 19 ON THE SAME CHAPTER YOU WILL REALIZE THAT THE WORD, "AGREE" ON EARTH CONCERNING ANYTHING THAT THEY ASK, IT WILL BE DONE FOR THEM BY MY FATHER IN HEAVEN'. THROUGH THE CROSS OF CALVARY THE CHURCH HAS BEEN GIVEN THE RIGHT TO USE THE POWER OF CHRIST.UNLESS WE BECOME WHAT PAUL THE APOSTLE SAYS IN EPHESIANS 1:18-19 "the eyes of your understanding being enlightened ; that you may know what is the hope of His calling , what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, 19.'and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power 20' which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places'.Verse 22' And He put all things under His feet , and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, 23' which is His body , the fullness of Him who fills all in all. THEREFORE THE CHURCH WHICH IS THE BODY OF CHRIST HAS BEEN GIVEN THE AUTHORITY TO ACT ON EARTH LIKE CHRIST. -GOD BLESS YOU!
  • Demyanna on Matthew 18:26 - 10 years ago
This may be an example of humbleness before our Mighty God. Here on earth we approach royalty with all respect without hesitating , now when it comes to Our God falling down is a sign of respect and also knowing you are nothing before God, which is why we should fall down in worship and all times when talking to God.We need to honour him with our bodies fully, not just by bowing our head. Philippians 2:12,13
  • Annick vanblaere on Matthew 18:20 - 10 years ago
Matth.18:20 does not allow us to be our own church, from the moment two or three are together. The context of any verse is so important. It is about a conflict situation. The context of the entire chapter is about interpersonal relationships and offenses, not the church.
Peter understood this, for he immediately asks how often one should forgive a brother (verse 21).
God requires two or three witnesses that injustice would be taken away by the word of one man against another. He will honor the decision based on the opinion of two or three along with the prosecutor. If the offender does not listen to them, he should be taken to bring the offender to a larger forum-the church.
  • Charlie-Marie on Matthew 18:20 - 10 years ago
It means that it does not matter where you worship, or how many are in your Church so long as you are gathered there in His name. He is in ALL Christian Churches.
  • Linda on Matthew 18:11 - 10 years ago
THAT which was lost was the KINGDOM OF GOD LIFE ON EARTH. Jesus LEGALLY restored that to all who will receive HIM,and choose THE WORD OF GOD for our guidance in all things. We are to be witnesses to others of the now-restored Kingdom of God Life....and letting nothing that Jesus died and paid for have been done in vain for each of us....bringing joy to our Lord and glory and honor to ALMIGHTY GOD.

    Matthew Chapter 18.

The importance of humbling ourselves, seeking to find peace with one another, and truly forgiving eveyone who has ever offended you, no matter what they have done to you.

    How important is it for us to search ourselves, and seek to find if we still have a grudge toward anyone on this earth; Wow it actually means life or death! If we don't forgive immendiatly, or asap; We have the danger of walking around with a hidden offense in our hearts; where we can't see it, or be aware of it, and not even realize that it's been the reason for most of the damage in are lives over the couse of the next ten to 20 years, or more;

Killing our marraiges, harming are children's lives, destroying the quality of our lives, and after all that damage; Then sending us to hell?............

How devastating, How major! it seems to be one of the most inmportant focuses of our lives, cause without mercy; we are not forgiven, thus damed.
Jesus says in Matthew 18 between verse 3&4 that if we don't humble ourselves as a little child, we won't make it to everlasting life; Which is that perfect life; the life that God intented for us to have.

So here we have: HUMBLE YOURSELF,BE CAUTIOUS NOT TO BE OFFENSIVE,SEEK FOR PEACE, AND FORGIVE EVERY OFFENSE ANYONE HAS EVER GIVEN YOU; Without, we have no salvation, and are doomed.
  • Ekaete umoh on Matthew 18:19 - 10 years ago
this is like strengthen the other part of the scripture that two will chase 10,000. in real sense if one chase a thousand two should chase 2,000. but the miracle of agreement is the issues here God Himself being present adds the supernatural aspect which we cannot explain. therefore, if two people can just come to a point of agreement with God whatever they ask wiil be done.
  • Arnold on Matthew 18:20 - 11 years ago
If there is strength in numbers, why not "where two or more are gathered". No this quote has a deeper meaning.
