Faith as a mustard seed, the little faith must be put to action, and its gonna grow, if we have a huge faith as a mountain and not put it in action its as gud as nothing.so that little faith we have lets put it to use and it will produce remarkble results.
  • MockingBird on Matthew 17:20 - 9 years ago
We are given a measure of faith at birth It is my responsibility to grow in the faith of the Lord Jesus Christ. I can only do that by being in His word daily. Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God. That grain of mustard seed is equipped to grow. my prayer is that I do not stay a baby Christian I have been with the Lord 35 years and I have made many mistakes and had many victories !!!! God has brought me a long way . I Praise God for His patience and longsuffering He has showed toward me for His names sake. I Love Him more than I did from the first !!!!

Faith is the substance of things hope for and evidence of things not seen. Areas where we need faith can be grouped into Physical and spiritual. For somebody to do exploit in life, he needs faith. For somebody to perform miracles, set the captive free, conduct deliverance service s , receive his healing, even praying to God, he needs faith. For somebody to make it to the end, he needs faith. That is the reason why bible says without faith, it is impossible to please God.

Faith they had but it did not measure up to this dimension.lt is throu 'prayer and fasting that could elevate their belief or provoke the Holy Spirit.
  • Nkosinathi Ngulube on Matthew 17:16 - 10 years ago
Our modern eklessia is commonplace with such a semblance.we do not operate effectively as individual because of lack of confidence. Our faith is more pronounced alongside the presence of pastors etc
  • Nkosinathi Ngulube on Matthew 17:21 - 10 years ago
Unbelief itself is a devil that hinders any spiritual progress.it is removed throu ' prayer and fasting.
  • Nkosinathi Ngulube on Matthew 17:20 - 10 years ago
When we believe that He is and able, then that becomes the roots of our fruitful faith.faith in faith is fruitless, so is faith in anything else apart from Him.
  • Nkosinathi Ngulube on Matthew 17:4 - 10 years ago
The Bible does not tell us if Our Lord had mentioned to the 3 disciples with whom they were to have a divine appointment, but negating that observation, l strongly believe that God revealed to Peter whom these men were. For he spoke in the same manner of tone as when 'twas revealed to him of God who Jesus was and or is
  • Justin on Matthew 17:21 - 10 years ago
for us to serve God truly, we must do the will of God voluntarily not out of any peer pressure. fasting is regarded as the most difficult part in Christianity but believe me if God enters with you its not even easy to notice that you have not eaten for unusual hours which you are not used to. hence we must first invite God to give us extra strength to go through it even if hard. may God be with us all everytime we do it.
  • Luna on Matthew 17:21 - 10 years ago
I love Shawna 's comment, how true it is. We need to fast, meditate on the Word of God, and be still and open in order to receive Word of Knowledge from God.
  • Betty C. Evans on Matthew 17:5 - 10 years ago
I think The glory of God Overshadowed Peter James and John that day at that moment to confirm or put a final seal in their mind that this indeed was GODS son the promised messiah the deliver of man from his sins and they must listen to him the word for by no other means could they be saved

  • Errol Forde on Matthew 17:21 - 10 years ago
PRAYER AND FASTING BRINGS THE PHYSICAL BODY INTO SUBJECTION, AND ALLOWED SPIRITUAL MAN TO FUSE WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT. HENCE SUPERNATURALLY CONQUERING THE PHYSICAL OBSTICALS IN LIFE, AND ALLOWING THE WILL OF GOD TO BE DONE IN EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN,IN OTHER WORDS AT THIS TIME IT IS NO LONGER YOU THAT LIVETH BUT JESUS CHRIST THE ANOINTED ONE WHO LIVES BREATH AND SPEEK THROUGH YOU, THERFORE ALL THINGS NOW BECOME POSIBLE THROUGH CHRIST WHO LIVE IN YOU FOR THAT DURATION OF TIME.

a mountain can be many things in life. I have been able with the help of God to move many mountains in my life and do believe that parables are meant to make us think and open our heart and mind.. God is good all the time even when we are climbing that mountain.

I do believe fasting was in the original manuscript.
I know by own experience in the ministry of deliverance, that fasting is necessary in various cases.
The term fasting is in the Majority Text (Byzantine Text) and in the Textus Receptus and found in the text that is used by the Greek Orthodox Church both in Mathew 17: 21 and Mark 9: 29.
  • Roger on Matthew 17:20 - 10 years ago
To have faith to move a mountain is beyond faith. It in a knowing without one synapse nerve impulse of doubt.
  • Elias on Matthew 17 - 10 years ago
i'm just a casual reader, but the prophecy of elias coming first to restore all things seems pretty weak if it could be fulfilled by a guy named john who baptized a few people and then had his head cut off.
