Verse 28 always helps me to remember that we all benefit from Jesus Christ sacrifice, it's not limited.
  • Irene on Matthew 17 - 8 years ago
Matthew 17: 3-8; the apostles saw Moses and Elias (o.t. Elijah) with Jesus. Then god spoke from the bright cloud they were to hear Jesus; then when the apostles looked again - there was only Jesus. this signifies that Moses (the law) and Elijah (the prophets) were a shadow of Jesus new testament for mankind, but now Jesus was here - Jesus fulfilled the law and prophets.
  • Johnny on Matthew 17 - 8 years ago
You mean, you're not prefer to the Old Testament as the words of God? Is there any changes for the words of God in the bible as you thought? It's should not have any different for the words of God, whether in the Old Testament or New Testament. It is my opinion only. Tq
  • Phyllis Mitchell on Matthew 17 - 8 years ago
love this scripture - prefer New Testament scriptures because we are saved by the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ and the Lord's church was established in the New Testament.
  • Ray on Matthew 17:20 - 8 years ago
A tiny bit of true faith will move mountains. Believe with all your heart. 24 7
  • MockingBird on Matthew 17 - 8 years ago
No matter how small faith is when it starts out : As the faith is watered and nurtured it will grow : whatever the mountain is in my life : as I act in and on the faith that I have received from God it will produce the desired results. So I keep on keeping on : faith is the substance of the thing I hope for and the evidence of what I do not have in manifestation yet. As I walk the light gets lighter !!!! By faith I have it right now !!!
  • Lilian on Matthew 17 - 8 years ago
Our Faith is a gift from God. We must believe Jesus as the Son of the Living God who came to the world and shed his blood to us so that we all may have life in abundance. thanks to the blood of Jesus through his blood our sins are forgiven and we are pardoned by our sins. We are now free from the hands of the defeated enemy. All we have to do now is to believe Jesus and accept him into our life. Without Christ in our life we are nothing. Bible is always available for us to believe and not to understand. We must be born again in spirit and not in the flesh. Thanks to Jesus and praised him for he is worthy to be praised. Amen
  • Salena Tauriac on Matthew 17 - 8 years ago
I feel he is saying, as long as you have faith, you will be granted your heart desires "hallelujah".
  • JACINTA on Matthew 17:22 - 8 years ago
I LOVE THE WORD. THE POWER OF GOD IS DEMONSTRATED. I BELIEVE THERE IS POWER IN THE TONGUE MESSAGE AS WELL
  • JRC on Matthew 17 - 8 years ago
I believe in Matt.17 vs 17 Jesus was talking about their unbelief, their unbelief goeth only through fasting and praying!I could be wrong, but we don't always have time to fast and pray when confronted with demons.
  • Raina on Matthew 17:21 - 8 years ago
Prayer and fasting must be the believers life style. You prepare yourself in power and strength and this is only made possible by prayer and fasting. We are only able to drive away or cast out devils by the ability of power we possess in the inner man.If you are not able to cast them out,it means you are not used to fasting and prayer.Remember that Jesus will always go on the mountain ....to pray So you dont wait for a sick person to appear before you ...determine the demon and go away into fasting ,maybe before you would have come the person will die The book says ..when thou fails in the day of adversity thy strength is small. It means the strength of the apostles were small to deal with that demon So fast and pray to prepare yourself against that day Remember also that you cannot pray and fast without Faith. BLESSED

verse 12 Jesus was telling his disciples that he had come already come to restore that which had been prophesied about Elijah.
  • Muyiwa Lawrence on Matthew 17 - 9 years ago
vs 27 portrays Jesus as the great provider. vs 21-there is a level of spiritual authority we cannot exercise until we discipline ourselves to stay longer in His presence in fasting and prayers.
  • Bob K. on Matthew 17 - 9 years ago
They can 't be the same, John announced Christ 's coming, they was nothing to restore yet,

  • Lilian on Matthew 17 - 9 years ago
Jesus knows the level of our faith. He feed 's us with his heavenly manna the word of God. From his words we recieved Peace, joy, happiness and life in abundance. We only need to believe him that he is the Son of the Living God. Believe him that He is the only Jehovah, Provider, Our Peace and Healer. We must thank and praised God everyday for his precious blood that shed for us. His blood is a symbol of his loving mercy and grace. Jesus loves you and me. Be blessed and walk with faith and not by sight.

  • Terryann on Matthew 17 - 9 years ago
Is it that only Peter, James and John were worthy of witnessing the transfiguration on the mount. That 's amazing! "many are called, but only few are chosen "
  • OMALE on Matthew 17 - 9 years ago
Verse 8 is the kernel of this chapter. When they rose up they saw no man but Jesus. We must not forget that Jesus is the focus and not man, not materialism, and certainly not ourselves. In all things, we must see only Jesus and He will see us through. Today men are not only focusing their attention on themselves but of those who see them as leaders. It is only Jesus and the song goes "It is all about you Jesus "
  • Shay on Matthew 17:20 - 9 years ago
We need faith to overcome mountainlike obstacles that interfere with our spiritual progress and to cope with difficulties. We should always work on strengthening our faith in Jehovah God and his promises.

  • Damian on Matthew 17 - 9 years ago
This is a very important chapter in the bible that many so call bible scholars, preachers, evangelist, so called prophets which that title is buried with them of the old testament , etc cannot SEE clearly. This is GOD showing that all trinitarians are wrong! Baptist, Catholic, Church of God out of Christ, Methodist they all share one common belief which is trinity Roman Catholic being the mother of trinity belief . No where in the bible did GOD say three! In fact here when Peter to try to make three, GOD cracked the sky opened and spoke and said JESUS ONLY! You know Father, Son, Holy, Ghost...Yet religious folks cannot SEE this! Peter said let us make three tabernacles and GOD said NO! Its one tabernacle for my only begotten JESUS ONLY!
  • Thomson Moyo on Matthew 17 - 9 years ago
Many as we are nowadays, we also wait for the people whom we call them men of God as we face problems ,to come and pray for us yet we are given the power to deal with any situation. For he did not say pastor will deal with demons only.
  • Sanza Masango on Matthew 17 - 9 years ago
