Verses 18 to 21 shows that God's spirit would be upon Jesus. He will help the lowly and down trodden.

  • Irene123 on Matthew 12 - 7 years ago
    V. 41 - The men of Nineveh ..... repented; that's a miracle right there - when you read the story of Jonah. Nineveh was the capital of the Assyrians - stringent enemies of Israel and their God. It's easy to see why Jonah detested them and tried to get away from this 'job' God had assigned him.
  • Daniel f on Matthew 12 - 7 years ago
The last verse is a refreshing testimony as to the mind of God. The Lord Jesus naural mother is no more important than one who does the will of the Father. It could be an enlightenment to the Catholic Church.
  • BSP on Matthew 12 - 7 years ago
Verse 26 Jesus used sound reasoning to refute the logic of the Pharisees.
  • Michael C. on Matthew 12 - 7 years ago
Eric, its clear that you love the Scriptures, and spend a lot of time reading; or you wouldn't know them so well. But you want to be able to communicate effectively the things the Lord has shown you. Remember in Ezra, where the Levites helped explain the sense and the meaning of the word, as it was read to them, and the people rejoiced because they could understand? That's what we want also.
  • Librarygal143 on Matthew 12 - 7 years ago
    I'm with you, Lord Jesus!
  • Eric on Matthew 12 - 7 years ago
Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God? And they fell upon their faces, and said, O God, the God of the spirits of all flesh, shall one man sin, and wilt thou be wroth with all the congregation? O thou that hearest prayer, unto thee shall all flesh come. My mouth shall speak the praise of the LORD: and let all flesh bless his holy name for ever and ever. And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh. Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me? Be silent, O all flesh, before the LORD: for he is raised up out of his holy habitation. These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me for they are thine. While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition that the scripture might be fulfilled. And all flesh shall see the salvation of God. And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.
  • Joshua on Matthew 12 - 7 years ago
And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. And the people, when they knew it, followed him: and he received them, and spake unto them of the kingdom of God, and healed them that had need of healing. And they departed, and went through the towns, preaching the gospel, and healing every where. Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. Turn again to the most High, and turn away from iniquity: for he will lead thee out of darkness into the light of health, and hate thou abomination vehemently. For the eyes of the Lord are upon them that love him, he is their mighty protection and strong stay, a defence from heat, and a cover from the sun at noon, a preservation from stumbling, and an help from falling. He raiseth up the soul, and lighteneth the eyes: he giveth health, life, and blessing.
  • Joshua on Matthew 12 - 7 years ago
He will swallow up death in victory and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it. Behold, I will bring it health and cure, and I will cure them, and will reveal unto them the abundance of peace and truth. For he created all things, that they might have their being: and the generations of the world were healthful and there is no poison of destruction in them, nor the kingdom of death upon the earth: For it was neither herb, nor mollifying plaister, that restored them to health: but thy word, O Lord, which healeth all things. For of the most High cometh healing, and he shall receive honour of the king. That thy way may be known upon earth, thy saving health among all nations.
  • Jack Hughes on Matthew 12 - 7 years ago

  • Lilian on Matthew 12 - 7 years ago
Sabbath day literaly in the old teaching is every Saturday but now Jesus reminded us to dedicate our time to him everyday. God is giving us a chance to learn his words by meditating it everyday. Thats why the Church and the Bible are available everyday for us to hear the word of God. If we put God first on our daily life everything goes well we will have his favor, goodness and mercy in our life

Read col. 2:16-17. Let no man judge you in meat or drink or in respect of an holy day, the new moon, or the Sabbath days which are a shadow of things to come. But the body is of Christ.
  • Rose Lohman on Matthew 12 - 7 years ago
WHAT IS SIN BUT THE TRANSGRESSION OF THE LAW?
Yeshua even said this Matthew 5:19,
"Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven."
Do you think he said in vain, "If you love me, keep MY commandments?
  • Andy on Matthew 12 - 7 years ago
The sabbath day is actually on Saturday. Sunday is the Lord's day Jesus taught us that doing good works on the sabbath was a good thing, but as was mentioned before we are under grace not the law. The law is there to be our teacher and show us we cannot make it on our own that only trusting Jesus will make us whole.

Please read the New Covenant. Christians are no longer under the Law of Moses. There is no problem in cleaning up the church building on any day.
  • J B on Matthew 12 - 7 years ago
Is it good to clean and pick up after others in a church or the Assembly of God on the Sabbath day?
  • Martha on Matthew 12 - 8 years ago
Robert L in Matthew 27 Christ died around the ninth hour and Daniel 26 says it was in the midst of the week that Christ was crucified. Three days and three nights from Wednesday about the ninth hour would be the ninth hour on Saturday. Read Matthew 28:1
Matthew 28:1 In the end of the Sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulcher.
Notice the word "IN". That tells me it was still the Sabbath.
  • Robert L on Matthew 12 - 8 years ago
Jesus did not rise on the Jewish Sabbath. He rose on the first day of the week. compare our calendar to the Jewish calendar. He was crucified, and died on a Wednesday and rose on a Sunday. Three days and three nights. Matt.12:40. and Matt.28:1
  • Nkosinathi Ngulube on Matthew 12:8 - 8 years ago
I strongly believe that the grave could not hold the Lord of the Sabbath in equivalent manner that the sabbath could not pass by with the authority still held by a defeated death. He rose on the Sabbath for He is Lord over it.Bear in mind that since it was a high sabbath, And sign of Jonah being 3 days and 3 nights, Christ could not sleep a fourth night by not rising before 6pm of saturday evening. This is an evident exhibition of God's power at work, revealing and supporting that He is indeed the Lord of the Sabbath.
  • Janice on Matthew 12:35 - 8 years ago
You can speak things into exists. If you speak of "good" Good will come to you and those that hear it. Speaking evil words will always bring evil. You are the master of your own happiness.
  • Linda on Matthew 12 - 8 years ago
Jim, If you accepted Christ in your life,he tells us not to fear. The devil is doing nothing but persecuting you so that you will be scared. The main thing I can tell you is get into the word of God and each time the devil is bothering you, you claim the name of Jesus, In the name of Jesus, I rebuke you devil, in the name of Jesus his blood covered my sins, and you pray to Jesus as much as you can in the name of Jesus. Keep him in your mind and heart constantly all day and night. The devil has to run in the name of Jesus...Pray the Lord's prayer over and over and ask God to guide you in his Spirit...I hope this helps you. I give Jesus Christ honor and praise, Amen
  • Donna Jane Wilson on Matthew 12 - 8 years ago
Anything can have demoniac possession if you let it. Acts of love and selfless and conquer ungodly things. For me I have struggled my whole life with drugs and never found a single one that completed me. God planted a seed in all of his children hearts that it may grow out of control so that the whole world may glorify him in truth and spirit. He has equipped us with everything we will ever need to overcome this world. People who use drugs are in pain and are broken hearted and have been mistreated don't turn your back on them set boundaries for yourself and make known to them what is acceptable. The Holy spirit will help with this if you ask and you you can also command the ungodly spirit to come out of them never to return again without manifestations and for it to never return again to go straight to Jesus so he can deal with according to his holy will in Jesus name I pray amen
