In the New Testament it says to ask for healing or sickness; and actually the word ask is spoken 60 to 65 times in the New Testament and in the Greek it means demand because God has already given us our healing by grace 2000 years ago.
  • Henry on Matthew 1 - 6 years ago
When we ask God for something do we continue to ask or ask just that one time ? I have put this before a few and have gotten different answers.

Who do you say Jesus is?

The Son of God? Yes, that was what the Holy Spirit revealed to Peter.

What about the Holy Spirit! Who do you say He is?

Well, here in Matthew 1:18 is very clear.

It says Jesus is the child of the Holy Spirit. Wait, Jesus is the Son of the Holy Spirit? Well, not only verse 18 days but 20 too.

Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God! (God Himself, remember God is a spirit?)

His Name is Emmanuel, meaning God with us. I love knowing the truth found in the Scriptures that the King of kings and Lord of lords is with us. Yesterday, Today and Tommorow OUR GOD is with us! He knew you and I before He knit us in our mothers womb. He knows the names of each star in the Heavens. Our Lord Jesus Christ was born of a woman, to say at the Cross, " It is finished " We Are His! Amen!

Much prefer reading the KJV Holy Bible to other Modern versions!
  • Bob davis on Matthew 1 - 6 years ago
I had just written a question as to the background of Matthew and then proceeded to the Commentary which says that his last name is Levi, and that he converted. I am curious about this because the old testament writers all carried some kind of Godly credentials. What did Matthew convert from, and what did he convert to? The commentary says it is written primarily to the Jews. (See next comment)

The mystery of inquitity which is the world we live in can only be understood by the kjv Bible believer. The holy ghost is a discerner which gives you understanding of why the world is so depraved and wicked. The lost don't get this because their not SUPPOST TO ITS A MYSTERY TO THEM!
  • A disciple on Matthew 1 - 6 years ago
Hi Jeffrey; It helps to think of our heavenly Father like a grown up who is kind and forgiving of a child for thinking like a child till it learns and grows up. We have to grow up physically, spiritually, mentally, morally, and emotionally, etc.! We have a lot to be sanctified! Its gonna take a lot of thought and commitment and perseverance, to finish our course as victorious and overcomers!
  • A disciple on Matthew 1 - 6 years ago
Dear Jeffrey; We DON'T take our new course in life in Christ following the world! "Blessed is the man who WALKS NOT in the counsel of the ungodly, NOR STANDS in the way of sinners, NOR SITS in the seat of the scornful; BUT HIS DELIGHT IS IN THE LAW OF THE LORD, AND IN HIS LAW DOES HE MEDITATE DAY AND NIGHT." We have to think in order to repent; so who doesn't want us to be able to think? Satan!
  • A disciple on Matthew 1 - 6 years ago
Jeffrey; If you read the beginning of the Book of the Proverbs, you'll see the answer to your question. The Word of God and His Holy Spirit of Truth given into our hearts is for training us up in the way which we should go. God gave us His commandments with the expectation of the ability which He created in us to DO THEM! Infants and children don't stay that way in their minds when they grow up.
  • Jeffrey on Matthew 1 - 6 years ago
    @ A disciple
    Proverbs 3:5
"Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding"

Not to say that we should completely forsake the use of our God-given intelligence to reason things out. But how can we possibly subject God to the same laws, beliefs and ways of thinking that have been instilled into our minds by this perverted society and expect to understand His ways ?
  • A disciple on Matthew 1 - 6 years ago
Hello Jeffrey; I would like to speak to something you said. We all know that God made man in His image and likeness; and all the evil effects of centuries and generations from ancient times till now have not changed that fact. God gave us His only begotten Son, and His Spirit, and the Bible, FOR US TO KNOW HIM! So also God gave us a brain to use it! NOT to deny its capacities to think and discern!
  • Jason on Matthew 1 - 6 years ago
we need not trust ourselves only that we need trust is Jesus and The Father God.
  • Jeffrey on Matthew 1 - 6 years ago
Tracy Clem..I have come to learn, through what I believe to be divine inspiration from God, that we can't subject God or his works to the limited reasoning capabilities of our minds. I mean, we can't even remotely comprehend the fact that God has always just "been". Meaning that even our perception of time itself could all be a massive illusion. How can we even begin to trust our own logic ?
  • A disciple on Matthew 1 - 6 years ago
Tracy; That is what the devil would like to make you think is true; but it is a lie, and will only ever be a lie and a wicked worthless slander. All they who are of the truth will hear Jesus' voice; but the stranger's voice they will not hear. How does the Ancient of Days feel about lost sons and daughters? How do Parents or Grandparents feel? How about ONE then who is Love Everlasting?
  • Tracy Clem on Matthew 1 - 6 years ago
If Jesus chose "certain sinful people" to be saved before the creation of time, that means our gracious, merciful God who told the accusers of the woman caught in the act of adultery, "he who is without sin cast the first stone," looked throughout time and nations and literally determined: this baby will enjoy Heaven, this baby will burn, this one Heaven, that one will burn.

  • A disciple on Matthew 1 - 6 years ago
Did anyone else notice, how between Jehoram and Uzziah there are three generations missing (omitted)? It was Jehoshaphat's fault for intermarrying his son with the house of Ahab, that they despised and forsook the LORD, and went after the sin and perversion of the enemies of God. We do not only affect ourselves, but everyone else whose life we touch, with how we live and who we choose for friends.

3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
  • Juan Jimenez on Matthew 1 - 6 years ago
Many times this question has been asked: it's quite simple: The LORD Jesus chose certain sinful people before the creation of time, HE paid for their sins completely with no action being necessary on their part. Once the Holy Spirit applies salvation to their person they become new creatures who are saved. Once they die they go straight to heaven unless Jesus returns before that. Read your Bible
  • Ella clarke on Matthew 1 - 6 years ago
some people think when you do good and die you go right to heaven or if you are bad or evil you go to hell. my belief is no is in heaven or hell we are in the grave until the day god come.

  • A disciple on Matthew 1 - 6 years ago
Hunter; The Bible says MUCH about "going to heaven." The world likes the idea that everyone who dies goes to "a better place;" but the facts are not that at all. No one automatically goes to heaven except the innocent and the ones upon whom God has mercy, and counts it their righteous end. The only place that "all go to" is to return to the dust; then our spirits go to God; for judgment, or life.
  • A disciple on Matthew 1 - 6 years ago
Hunter (cont.); If you are already saved, FEED ON THE SCRIPTURES! Fill your belly with THIS BOOK! Read it through, over and over; meditate on it and take good notes. Write it down, pray it in, and WORK IT OUT! His grace is sufficient for us, and He has provided ALL THINGS pertaining to life and piety; our part is to be GOOD AND FAITHFUL TO THE END. If the Lord tarries or comes very soon, BE READY!
  • A disciple on Matthew 1 - 6 years ago
Hunter; The Lord Jesus Christ said that we must be born from above in order to see the kingdom of God; and that we must be converted and made a new kind of man if we at all hope to be allowed to enter there. Jesus Christ the Son of God came into this world in the flesh to die on the cross, ALL FOR THAT VERY THING! SO WE CAN BE SAVED! Repent and believe the Gospel, and follow Jesus in the Word.
  • Baifouh on Matthew 1 - 6 years ago
    @Hunter :
This is what is written about going to heaven in Matthew :
“And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.”
    Matthew 19:24.
  • Hunter on Matthew 1 - 6 years ago
