People's Bible Notes for Matthew 18:25

Mt 18:25 But forasmuch as he had not to pay. He had used his king's money and was not able to settle his accounts. He represents the sinner, who has no way to settle the debt of his sins. See Lu 7:42. His lord commanded him to be sold. An absolute king is represented, who could do according to his will with his servants. It was common, even until modern times, for persons to be sold for debt. In many nations the wife and children were involved in the hapless fate of the debtor.

Jesus came to save the lost ones. We are grateful for the ransom of Jesus because without this ransom we would still be lost and with no chance of survival.

Knowing that Jesus is looking forward to a new day to be present with us, not in body but through the Holy Spirit is an awesome feeling and just knowing that, I have something to look forward to as a believer in Christ. Also, in the Spirit no matter where one lives, he will be with us all. He is omnipresent. Thanks God for Jesus and His amazing grace.

Like the lord in verse 27, Jesus is willing to forgive all our sins so we can be blameless when we appear before Him at His Judgement Seat. We should also adopt the same posture of forgiving all those who trespass against us, countless times.
