People's Bible Notes for Matthew 16:26

Mt 16:26 What is a man profited? etc. All the wealth, glory, pleasure and power of earth are worthless to the dying man. If he should gain them all and lose his own soul, he has lost all. What shall a man give in exchange for his soul? What would a man not give? What is there that he can give, if in life he has not followed Christ?

We will fight in the pulpit, in the aisles, at the altars, in the Sun. schools, in the hallways, in the parking lots, in our homes, at the market, on the street, and on printed page." This is a very Clear Indication how blind man made religion is to the Things Of God. Purely because man's sinful fleshly desires continuously seek after these things with ungodly vigor. The other thing that stands out also is, the Lord speaks favor upon the Righteous, who in the Broad Spectrum of God's Will, MUST Preach Repentance and Salvation to Sinners, while there is yet time.

O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky but can ye not discern the signs of the times? That the triumphing of the wicked is short, and the joy of the hypocrite but for a moment? How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge? Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil: that put darkness for light, and light for darkness: that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! Little children: Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven: for the heathen are dismayed at them. For the Lord knows all that may be known, and he beholds the signs of the world. For the arms of the wicked shall be broken: but the LORD upholds the righteous: and your heart shall live that seek God.

It seems as if Jesus was warning the disciples of the external pressure of "other doctrines" that seek to infiltrate the Church. The church is made pure by God through Christ and we as Christians are the custodians of it. If we are not vigilant and alert, we cannot maintain the purity and unity of the Church.
